LISTEN: Jay-Z Raps ‘Glory’ For His Girl: Baby Blue Ivy Is ‘Magic’
Jay-Z is showing how proud he is to be a dad to daughter Blue Ivy.
He and his wife, Beyonce welcomed their first child over the weekend at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and the rapper has already put out a beautiful song that reveals his heartfelt feelings and the littlest Carter’s cry.
Jay-Z posted “Glory” on his website Life + Times, declaring her his “greatest creation.”
“The most amazing feeling I feel/ Words can’t describe what I’m feeling, for real.” he raps. “Baby, I paint the sky Blue, my greatest creation was you. Glory.”
The 42 year-old artist also reveals that the Single Ladies singer miscarried, making Blue Ivy’s arrival all the more significant for the superstar couple.
“False alarms and false starts/ All made better by the sound of your heart/ All the of the pain of the last time/ I prayed so hard it was the last time,” he says.
Later in the song he talks about their personal tragedy specifically: “Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/ We was afraid you’d disappear, but nah, baby, you magic.”
The tune, which was produced by Pharrell, includes Blue Ivy’s first recording. Jay-Z, who credits his little girl as B.I.C., ends the track with her cry.
