The Biggest Loser – Shay Sorrells Is Eliminated – Where Is She NOW? (Videos & Photo)

Shay Sorrells on The Biggest Loser

Last night was another emotional elimination on The Biggest Loser. The first of two eliminations was hard, but not as hard as the second. The first to go was Danny after he fell below the RED line. This is the first time that the show introduced the red line. Later on, Shay was voted off of the show. Shay was the heaviest contestant ever on the show.  She broke the record for losing the most, the fastest (of the females) and she continues to lose the weight at home.  I have complete confidence that Shay Sorrells will complete this journey.  SHe has already dropped 150 pounds.  I expect great things on finale night!

The Biggest Loser – Abby Rike Before & After Pictures

Abby Rike Biggest Loser

I will admit that last night was the hardest episode of The Biggest Loser: Second Chances I have ever watched.  This entire season has had some really tough moments, I have choked up a lot.  But, when the covered Abby Rike’s tragedy again, with more footage than previously seen, I lost it.  My heart broke for this courageous woman.  So I was of course really disappointed when she was eliminated (by choice) at the end of the show last night.

Abby Rike lost everything in 2006.  He loving husband, five year old daughter and 2 week old son were all killed in a tragic car accident. Abby was left with nothing.  Her life would never be the same and she didn’t know how she could live life without them. This led her to The Biggest Loser,

“Losing weight is kind of like shedding the sadness and hurt and emerging stronger.  My life will matter again.”

Before the accident, Abby was content and loving her life,

“I wouldn’t have traded lives with any human on the planet because my life was the best,” she remembers. “After the wreck, all my roles were gone. I wasn’t a wife anymore. I wasn’t a mother anymore. I was broken and falling apart inside. There were pieces of shrapnel where my heart used to be — it was shattered.”

“You can’t bury your two children and the love of your life and think, Oh, I’m just going to be okay,” she says. Still, she began to realize, “you can’t help what happens to you, but you can choose how you respond to it.  My journey was more about finding out where I fit into the world.  For me it was truly about healing from the inside out.”

Ok, I am crying again.  This is such a touching story.  I admire Abby Rike.  She is one of the strongest women I have ever seen and I am so proud of her.  I hope and pray that she is able to find love again, that she might even be able to have more children.  She certainly looks amazing!  Her before and after pictures are shocking.  Abby is an inspiration to anyone who gets the chance to hear her story and see the life changes she has worked so hard to make.

NBC Special – The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now?

Biggest Loser

NBC has a speical show lined up for Biggest Loser fans.  I for one always wonder about past contestants and how they are doing now.  We usually see the winners stay in the public eye, but the rest we never hear from again.  So, NBC is airing, The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now? On Wednesday, November 25 at 8pm.

Our favorite trainers, Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels will be surprising a few of the losers during the show. We will also get to peek in on the married couples,  Matt Hoover and Suzy Preston and Amy and Marty Wolff.

This is going to be a really fun episode, I am looking forward to it!

Biggest Loser – Jillian Michaels Lands Her OWN Show ‘Losing It’

Jillian Michaels Losing It

This is one of the best ideas NBC has had in quite some time.  The Biggest Loser’s Jillian Michaels is getting her own 8 episode show, Losing It.  Don’t worry, Jillian will still be a trainer on Biggest Loser.  She own’t even be filming for Losing It until Biggest Loser finishes up it’s 9th season.

Jillian made this quick statement on her Facebook page,

You guys already figured it out. Clever little buggers. Yes, NBC has finally lost their minds and decided to give me my own show. Not sure of all details yet, but looks like I will shoot after BL9 and it will air summer 2010. Super excited. See casting announcement and apply!

Jillian will be moving into the contestants houses for one week to help them change their lifestyles and get them on a healthy diet and exercise regimen.

One more thing to clarify. I WILL be staying with Biggest Loser as well. My show is different. You do not need to be morbidly obese to apply! You can be a couple as well as a family. But… be careful what you wish for. Living with me is no walk in the park ;)

I can’t wait to see this one!  What do you think?  Will this show actually be able to help these people in just one week?  Sheare your thoughts below.

The Biggest Loser – Bob & Jillian Have Something For YOU

Biggest Loser Game

The Biggest Loser has launched a video game that everyone needs to have.  Honestly, it’s a video game!  You have to try it!  What better/easier way is there to get fit and totally have fun while doing it?  And guess what?  It’s works!

Bob Harper gave some good advice at the launch for the game in NYC,

“Don’t drink your calories. People are drinking way too much soda,” he explains, adding, “Look at the ingredients of the food you’re eating, and if there’s a whole list, chances are it’s going to be really bad for you. Go for the most wholesome food.”

I agree!  I for one saw a ton of weight fall off when I dropped soda.  It doesn’t get much easier than that!  Playing this game is like being on the show.  If you’ve tried to get on the show and didn’t make the cut or have thought about applying, this is a sure thing for you and you won’t get turned down!

The Biggest Loser Season 8 Cast FULL List + (BIG Surprises!)

Biggest Loser

NBC has announced The Biggest Loser season 8 cast.  This one is based on “Second Chances” and I think this one is going to have some tear jerking moments in it.

Their individual stories are compelling, from a firefighter (Allen Smith) whose health and job are at risk because of his weight to a military wife and mother of four (Tracey Yukich) who has always put others first. Viewers will also meet a remarkable woman (Abby Rike) who endured the worst tragedy imaginable – losing her husband and two children in a deadly car crash – and who now gets a second chance to restart her life.

Last season’s heaviest contestant and fan favorite Daniel Wright will also return for a second chance to finish the weight loss journey he started in season seven, going from 454 lbs. to 312 lbs. He’ll inspire a female social worker (Shay Sorrells) that has taken his place as the heaviest contestant in the history of “The Biggest Loser,” weighing in at 476 lbs. Also included in the new season of players is Amanda Arlauskas, a 19-year old who was voted in by America during the season 7 finale of the show in May, and hopes to get a second chance to live the life she always dreamed of living. They’ll all come together for a second chance to transform their bodies, their health and ultimately their lives.

Here is the list of contestants: (after the jump)
