Pippa Middleton Writing A Party Planning Book?

Pippa Middleton heads off to work on the first day of November in London but rumor has it, she may add author to her resume.

The 28 year-old socialite has a literary agent, according to reports, and is shopping the idea of a party planning & etiquette book.

Middleton has taken meetings with HarperCollins and other publishing houses, sounding out the offers (and the serious money) for her perfect party hostess tome.

“Pippa is very serious about the project and has been going to meet publishers personally,” a source confided.

“Pippa hasn’t signed a contract yet but I don’t think it will be far off. She is a good writer but I expect she would be offered the services of an experienced ghost writer.”

Pippa has worked on the blog The Party Times for her parent’s mail-order business Party Pieces.

The deal would be extremely lucrative for Middleton if indeed, she does wind up with a contract. International rights, royalties, sequels and possible side projects could net the sister of Kate Middleton quite a large sum.

More photos of Pippa are under. (Read the article)

Is Kate Moss Planning To Write Her Autobiography?

Count me among the skeptics on this one.

A report has surfaced that model extraordinaire Kate Moss is planning on penning her autobiography at the encouragement from her new husband, Jamie Hince.

“Kate has always held back from giving interviews so the public don’t know what she’s really like and what’s she gone through in her life.

“She’s never opened up about her parents’ divorce, having daughter Lila or her relationships with former boyfriends including Johnny Depp and Pete Doherty.

“Her fans will be desperate to read it and she’ll make an absolute fortune.”

Hince is a great reader and he writes short stories so that is apparently part of the inspiration for Moss to write down the story of her life.

While the stories she could tell would be legendary, Kate rarely gives interviews and does not divulge anything personal by her own accord. She just does not strike me as someone who would open up publicly this way.

Tyra Banks Signs Copies Of Her Young Adult Novel ‘Modelland’

Tyra Banks

She did it.  She really, actually did it.  Last year, Tyra Banks announced she was writing a fantasy novel about models, and I honestly thought it was kind of a joke.   But she evidently wrote the book, and found a publisher willing to make actual physical hard copies of it, and now she’s on the promotional trail.

Modelland follows the story of  Tookie De La Crème, an unlikely candidate in a modeling competition set in an alternate reality where the top models have special powers.   But I can’t do this incredible (and I do mean incredible as in “I can’t believe this pile of poop”) new novel justice.   You’ve got to read the plot summary yourself.  From Amazon:

No one gets in without being asked. And with her untamable hair, large forehead, and gawky body, Tookie De La Crème isn’t expecting an invitation. Modelland—the exclusive, mysterious place on top of the mountain—never dares to make an appearance in her dreams.

But someone has plans for Tookie. Before she can blink her mismatched eyes, Tookie finds herself in the very place every girl in the world obsesses about. And three unlikely girls have joined her.

Only seven extraordinary young women become Intoxibellas each year. Famous. Worshipped. Magical. What happens to those who don’t make it? Well, no one really speaks of that. Some things are better left unsaid.

Thrown into a world where she doesn’t seem to belong, Tookie glimpses a future that could be hers—if she survives the beastly Catwalk Corridor and terrifying Thigh-High Boot Camp. Or could it? Dark rumors like silken threads swirl around the question of why Tookie and her new friends were selected . . . and the shadows around Modelland hide sinister secrets.

When you’ve written a novel of this literary caliber, you’ve got to be excited about it.  And doesn’t Tyra look it?  More photos of her appearance at Barnes & Noble in New York City after the jump.

Arnold Schwarzenegger: Penning His Memoirs For A 2012 Release

Now that Arnold Schwarzenegger is out of the California Governor’s office, it has freed him up to do a lot of other projects, including getting back into films.

One other project the Terminator star has brewing – a memoir.

Schwarzenegger, 64, will title the book Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story and will recount his movie-making heydays, his bodybuilding career and his time in the political arena.

“Truly, Arnold is one of the most fascinating figures of our time, and one of the greatest success stories in the world,” Jonathan Karp, the publisher of Simon & Schuster, said in a statement. “Nobody has a life story even close to his.”

The four-time Mr. Universe has been working on the book since 2010 and is collaborating with publishing heavyweights Simon & Schuster, who also put out his 1977 book The Education of a Bodybuilder.

Schwarzenegger is collaborating with Peter Petre, who also worked with Alan Greenspan and Norman Schwarzkopf biographies.

No word on how much Schwarzenegger is being paid or how much detail he will reveal regarding the scandal of the love-child he fathered with his housekeeper 14 years ago and his subsequent divorce from Maria Shriver.

Khloe, Kourtney & Kim Kardashian Novel ‘Dollhouse’ Gets A Leopard Print Cover

It might be partly fictionalized, it might not but one thing it has for sure – a leopard print cover. Ugh.

Kim Kardashian and her sisters Khloe and Kourtney are expanding the family’s $65 million empire with Dollhouse, a novel penned by the ladies about a family in the spotlight…

“The novel is based on our lives but we’ve added a lot of crazy fictional twists and turns. You’ll have to decide for yourself which story lines are true to life, and which ones we dreamed up. LOL,” Kim K. said on her blog when the book was announced in May.

A contest was held with fans to choose the name and Kim announced the winner, Courtney Powell, will be featured in the upcoming tome.

The book gets a November 1st release.

Bigger news is just around the corner for the Kardashian clan. Kim’s wedding to Kris Humphries is set to take place on August 20th.

Paws up little monsters! This will be quite a provocative collection of photos.

Did QVC Cancel Jane Fonda Due To Political Pressure?

Jane Fonda is angry and she wants everyone to know it!   She was scheduled to promote her new book, Prime Time, on QVC yesterday, but the shopping channel canceled her appearance.  What happened?  Jane tells her side on her blog – and does not mince words.

I was to have been on QVC today to introduce my book, “Prime Time,” about aging and the life cycle. The network said they got a lot of calls yesterday criticizing me for my opposition to the Vietnam War and threatening to boycott the show if I was allowed to appear. I am, to say the least, deeply disappointed that QVC caved to this kind of insane pressure by some well funded and organized political extremist groups. And that they did it without talking to me first. I have never shied away from talking about this as I have nothing to hide. I could have pointed out that threats of boycotts are nothing new for me and have never prevented me from having best selling books and exercise DVDs, films, and a Broadway play. Most people don’t buy into the far right lies. Many people have reached out to express how excited they were about my going onto QVC and hearing about my book.

Bottom line, this has gone on far too long, this spreading of lies about me! None of it is true. NONE OF IT! I love my country. I have never done anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us. I do not understand what the far right stands to gain by continuing with these myths. In this case, they denied a lot of people the chance to hear about a book that can help make life better, easier and more fulfilling. I am deeply grateful for all of the support I have been getting since this happened, including from my Vietnam Veterans friends.

It’s not hard to imagine that some people are still angry at  Jane for her Vietnam War protest activism.  Emotions were so high at the time, with the U.S. was divided on the issue of the war.  At the same time, I can’t imagine that folks would still be SO angry that they would raise a protest against her appearing on a home shopping show.   Now if she were running for political office, I could understand that pointing out her past views would be relevant.  But she’s hocking a book.  On a home shopping network.  It just doesn’t seem worth it to me.

For their part, QVC was quite matter of fact about the cancellation.  They issued the following statement:

“Jane Fonda was scheduled to appear on QVC today, Sat. July 16. Due to a programming change, she did not appear in the 10 a.m. show as scheduled. QVC is live 24 hours a day and welcomes more than 22,000 guests a year. It’s not unusual to have a schedule change with our shows and guests with little or no notice.”

Prime Time is published by Random House and will be in bookstores on August 9th.

Keanu Reeves Is SMILING About His New (Very Sad) Book

Keanu Reeves.

His supposed glum demeanor has been documented and riffed on in many ways, including the infamous meme “Sad Keanu” which started from the image of him sitting alone with a sandwich on a bench. Which led to Cheer Up Keanu Day on Facebook and a myriad of other ways to pep up the very private actor.

Keanu has written a book, Ode To Happiness, which on the surface dovetails nicely with the collective thought of the depressed and morose man, starting off with “I draw a hot sorrow bath,” on the first page and “In my despair room,” on the second.

But Reeves says not so fast. It was a just a fun, goofy thing he did for a friend, to cheer her up.

“I was in my kitchen hanging out with my friend Janey, and the radio was on – and this station was playing, like, an orgy of depressing, self-pitying, nostalgic music. You know: ‘I’m so lonely and I’ve been left and my heart is broken.’ It was so voluptuously horrible. And I just started to write on this piece of paper, because I had this image of, you know, that moment when you take that bath, you light that candle, and you’re really just kind of depressed. And it was making Janey laugh so hard, I just kept going, piling on the self-pity.”

From there his friend, Janey Bergman, sent his words to mutual friend LA artist Alexandra Grant to illustrate it as a private gift and it spiraled as other friends wanted copies.

Did the 46 year-old star write this as an antidote to the forlorn reputation he’s gained on the web?

Oh, the internet deal,” he says vaguely. “It was brought to my attention. Yeah, it was funny. But no, the book predates that by a long time. We finished it in August 2009. It is hopefully, in a quiet and enjoyable way, transformative. The kind of thing that takes you from this one place to another – to look at yourself and, y’know, it can always be worse. I hate that sentence: of course it can always be worse!”

You’ve gotta love the man’s attitude!

Denise Richards Previews Her Memoir, ‘The Real Girl Next Door’

Denise Richards‘ memoir, The Real Girl Next Door, hits shelves (and e-readers, I suppose) next month.  Last week she talked with the press at the Time For Heroes Celebrity Picnic and gave a few hints as to what readers can expect.

Practically the only reason most people will read this book is to get the dirt on Denise’s marriage to Charlie Sheen.   She assured reporters that it’s covered:

“I went through a lot and I get asked a lot of questions about that time in my life so I figured that I would share my story and hopefully, anyone that is dealing with challenges will know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”

However, she intentionally kept the discussion of her marriage positive.   Awww, what’s the fun in that??!

“…People have only gotten the rotten stuff so you know, there was a beautiful love story between he and I and I know that it went the way it went, but I talk more about how I felt during that time because I feel like a lot of women can relate to that, going through a divorce and custody and being a single parent and trying to work and all of that stuff.”

Denise claims that she does her best to keep her daughters Sam and Lola away from the media coverage of all that “rotten stuff.”

“I protect my children from that. I don’t keep the news on when they are around.  They are in kindergarten and first grade so, so far they are okay, but I don’t know because that could change as kids get older and more aware.”

Which would be a lovely sentiment had she not done that whole It’s Complicated reality series (fail) and sued Charlie for the right to essentially exploit their daughters on the show. Disingenuous much?

You can grab your copy of The Real Girl Next Door in bookstores on July 26.

Bristol Palin Dishes On ‘The Gnat’ Levi Johnston In New Memoir

Bristol Palin‘s mad as hell and she’s not gonna take it anymore… or something like that.

Palin has no love for her former flame and father of her child, Levi Johnston and she’s not shy about it in her new memoir Bristol Palin: Not Afraid of Life, My Journey So Far.

The 20 year-old daughter of former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin takes sharp aim at Johnston, (whom she met in the seventh grade,) and his cheating ways saying her time with him was full of “deception and disappointment.”

Palin relays losing her virginity to the Playgirl poser after he took her on a camping trip, got her drunk on wine coolers, deflowered her and left her to wake up alone while he chatted “with his friends on the other side of the canvas.”

The Dancing With the Stars vet said “the gnat named Levi Johnston constantly spreading false accusations against our family” and calls him a self-involved slacker “who cheated on me about as frequently as he sharpened his hockey skates.”

Bristol says the two agreed to abstain from sex until after they were married but broke that promise pretty quickly and the result; her pregnancy, was met with disgust by Johnston.

“Better be a (bleeping) boy,” he reportedly said.

Johnston will have an opportunity to avenge himself in the fall when his book, Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs, comes out.

Bristol’s book is out next week.

Levi takes a beating in her book, do you think he’ll be as rough on her in his?
