Oscars 2012: Who Took Home An Academy Award

The 84th Annual Academy Awards were held in Hollywood at the Kodak Theatre (or as host Billy Crystal quipped – the Chapter 11 Theater) on Sunday night and there were few surprises.

Crystal was his usual affable, likable self; the ratings were up slightly from last year but there were no really big wow moments to the 2012 Oscars.

The biggest winners of the night were Martin Scorsese‘s Hugo and Michel HazanaviciusThe Artist – each taking 5 wins, although The Artist won the biggest nods of Best Director, Best Feature and Best Leading Actor among it’s accolades.

The Help star Octavia Spencer had a very sweet moment at the podium when she was genuinely overcome with emotion as she accepted her Best Supporting Actress gold statue.

Chistopher Plummer and Meryl Streep were also very engaging during their thank you speeches and Jean Dujardin shared a moment with Uggie, the Jack Russell terrier of The Artist that has become a fan favorite.

Viola Davis and George Clooney were hot contenders for Best Actress and Actor categories, respectively, but both walked away empty handed.

Among the presenters for the evening: Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Hanks, Cameron Diaz, Tina Fey, Michael Douglas, Bradley Cooper, Chris Rock, Melissa Leo, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph and Emma Stone.

Bradley Cooper Is People Magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ For 2011

Bradley Cooper is joining the likes of George Clooney, Brat Pitt, Johnny Depp and (last year’s winner) Ryan Reynolds as he’s crowned 2011 People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.

The Hangover actor earns the nod for his gorgeous blue eyes, his beautiful smile and hot body but he doesn’t think he’s all that.

“I think it’s really cool that a guy who doesn’t look like a model can have this [title],” says Cooper. “I think I’m a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying.”

Cooper, 36, told the magazine his biggest supporter would be thrilled.

“[The] first thing I thought was ‘My mother is going to be so happy,’” he says.

But Cooper said even though he’s single he isn’t the typical Hollywood bachelor everyone assumes.

“If you’re a single man and you happen to be in this business, you’re deemed a player. But I don’t see myself as a ladies’ man,” the Limitless actor told the magazine.

Cooper took top honors over Ryan Gosling, Liam Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, Justin Theroux and Joel McHale.

Jennifer Lopez & Bradley Cooper Dinner Together – New Couple Or New Film?

It was a Saturday night in New York City when Jennifer Lopez and Bradley Cooper sat down to dinner at Per Se restaurant starting the speculation that the two have begun dating.

Both stars have come off high-profile break-ups: Lopez, 42, is divorcing Marc Anthony and 36 year-old Cooper’s relationship with Renee Zellweger ended earlier this year.

So was it romantic or was it simply a business meeting?

A source close to Jennifer came forward to explain and said it was all business.

[S]he was simply in New York doing promotion for her new Kohl’s collection  and took full advantage of being on the East Coast, taking several meetings for various creative endeavors.

One of those meetings, the source says, was her dinner with Cooper. The duo was simply discussing a possible future film project together.

The Limitless star and the American Idol judge were dining for two hours alone on a Saturday night at the chi-chi eatery ($295 price fixe menu, per person) and at the time, it was unclear whether it was a date or a possible future creative pow-wow. Sounds very date-like but now we know better. Or do we…

Creepy New Concept Art for Bradley Cooper’s Lucifer in ‘Paradise Lost’

Here’s the first official concept art for Lucifer in the upcoming movie Paradise Lost starring Bradley Cooper as the fallen archangel.

Lucifer and Michael, God’s greatest archangels, share the bond of extraordinary friendship until God produces his greatest creation: Man. Unable to remain subservient to God if it means bowing down to humanity, Lucifer begins his dark descent and is cast out – only to plot his revenge.

Pretty creepy looking image, it’s hard to imagine Bradley Cooper as this character. This is a twelve book poem we’re talking about, it’ll be interesting to see how it’s all packed into one movie. This movie is bound to spark controversy, given the subject matter, when it’s released in 2012.

Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling Playing Cops and Robbers ‘Beyond the Pines’

Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling are set to play a cop and a robber in the upcoming movie The Place Beyond the Pines.

Bradley Cooper is taking another serious turn in The Place Beyond the Pines. Variety reports Cooper has closed his deal to star as a rookie cop tailing a pro motorcycle rider (Ryan Gosling) who starts robbing banks to support his newborn son. The film will reunite Gosling with his Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance, who also cowrote the script.

Sounds like a promising storyline, it’ll be interesting to see the dynamic between these two as enemies. I’m glad Cooper is branching out from comedy to do roles like this, I believe him more with drama. These two actors have quickly propelled to the A-list in Hollywood, both carrying their own films and doing a hell of a job at it.

Hello Hotness! Bradley Cooper At ‘The Hangover Part II’ Premiere

Bradley Cooper stepped out to the red carpet premiere of The Hangover Part II held at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, California on Thursday, May 19th.

The man is just hot – no matter what.

The 36 year-old actor said that he found the reaction of costar Ed Helms to the naked scene in the flick to be more entertaining than the scene itself.

“I was more shocked by watching Ed’s reaction to it all and how amazing it was. Just watching Stu having to find out what went down,” Cooper told press.

But as wild as it is onscreen with the Wolfpack, it’s pretty sedate after the camera stops rolling.

“Much like the first one, all the craziness you see is in the film. There’s not much you could try to outdo once the shooting day is over,” he confessed.

“My favourite thing to do was putting my headphones on and walking round the city.”

The Hangover Part II opens on May 26th.
