Miracle! ‘LIPSTICK JUNGLE’ Is Coming Back! Not Cancelled!

Lipstick Jungle Promo Shot

I haven’t heard such good news in a LONG time!!  I was SO devastated when Lipstick Jungle was taken from us.  I wen to great lengths with all of the Lipstick fans to try and get NBC to change their minds.  And hey!  It looks like our efforts payed off!  THANK YOU NBC!!

Fans of “Lipstick Jungle” are breathing a sigh of relief with the recent announcement from NBC that the show has not been canceled. Rumors have been swirling for months that the show had been axed. “I love the show, especially Andrew McCarthy. He is the main reason I watch the show so I am really pleased that it isn’t being canceled,” a fan of “Lipstick Jungle” told Celebrity News Service. The hour-long “Lipstick Jungle” is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Candace Bushnell, of “Sex and the City” fame. The show stars McCarthy, Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price. While the announcement from Angela Bromstad, president of NBC Universal’s production studio, that “Lipstick Jungle” will live on is good news for fans, the same can’t be said for the NBC show “My Own Worst Enemy.” As of now, the Christian Slater show has been canceled.

Brooke Shields is very happy that this project gets to continue….can you blame her??:

Calling All ‘Lipstick’ Lovers!

Alright.  This is it ladies.  We have some hope still for our beloved ‘Lipstick Jungle’.  If you really want to save the show, lets make sure we are doing something besides whining that it’s being taken from us.  Let’s demand to have it back!!

Reports of the demise of “Lipstick Jungle” may have been premature. The NBC drama about well-heeled women in New York, starring Brooke Shields, was shuffled off to Friday nights two weeks ago amid reports that the show was canceled and that the remaining episodes would not be shown. But as of this week “Lipstick Jungle” is breathing again. The reason: It showed signs of life on Friday and picked up 50 percent more viewers when delayed viewing (from DVRs and other devices) was included in the ratings for the episode broadcast a week earlier. Ben Silverman, the co-chairman of NBC Entertainment, said the network will definitely finish the 13 episodes that it originally ordered — it has four more episodes to go — and may order more if the show “grows more.”

Here is the number for the head of NBC programming: (818) 777-6618.  Call and talk to the assistant or leave a voicemail.  Tomorrow is the last day of shooting!!

Top 10 Reasons NOT to Toss Out the ‘Lipstick’

As I posted last night, NBC is at it again.  Pulling shows off the air that are actually good and keeping the mindless junk in the line up.  i.e. Earl, Chuck, Kath & Kim.  They have put the cap on our ‘Lipstick’ and seemingly crushed many hearts in the process (mine included).

So, here it is…straight from the fans, pleas for mercy.  This is turning into a global crisis!!

10. I am devastated over this!! I live in Ireland so I can’t contribute to NBC figures but I just can’t believe that they are doing this.
I love Lipstick Jungle and have really become engrossed in it, it is one of the best shows around at the moment and they haven’t even given it a chance to really get going. Season 2 has been even better than season 1 and now after airing only 7 episodes of the second season they decide to pull it… It just doesn’t make sense to me!! I’m sure shows like SATC didn’t have outstanding viewing figures in the first couple of years.
I really hope that NBC either get a grip of themselves or some other network picks up the show, I hate to think that it could end completely.
Does anyone know how to contact the three ladies? Especially Kim Raver? I’d love to email them or something just to give my support.

9. I’m sorry, If NBC wants to cancel a show with 4.2 million viewers they have to be stupid!! After Sex and the City went off air i didn’t know what to watch. Than came Lipstick Jungle and now NBC wants to take that from all of their viewers. Thats ridiculous!!!

8. NBC are you crazy?? Lipstick Jungle is one of the best shows on TV right now. Why is it when you get a good show on and it starts getting really good you decide to cancel it? I am in anticipation for tonights show!! Please reconsider this decision!! My friends and I cant wait for Friday nights now to get together and watch Lipstick Jungle.

7. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I saw last night it was being canceled I was SICK – its the only show I LOVE and look forward to seeing!!!!!
I could recommend a couple other “new” shows that suck – get rid of those – keep the AWESOME ONES!!! …I dont understand the reason – its so, so great – we have all grown attached to the story line and characters – dont cancel it.

6. NBC PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL Lipstick Jungle!!! I haven’t loved a show so much since Sex in the City. You have an amazing cast of women portraying real-life drama, sexy and classy style and beauty inside and out. The networks are blooming with gossip of the shows cancellation. I beg you to please reach out to the fans before cancelling the show. With DVRs and TiVo you can’t really capture the true viewership ratings. I hardly watch a live show on it’s scheduled date and time, but you can be damn sure that I record every episode of Lipstick Jungle.

The ‘Lipstick’ Has Been Capped

NBC has decided to pull yet another show.  I think I should stop being a fan of new shows since they rarely make it halfway through a second season!  I don’t understand what the problem was with one of my faves, Lipstick Jungle, but, apparently only 4.2 million viewers wasn’t cutting it.  They say it was very much like a replacement for Sex in the City.  But hey, I think it was a great one!

We girls need our vices!  Bye-bye to my guilty pleasure. I am very disappointed with NBC.  You take away my ER and now my Lipstick…..what’s next?  You better keep your hands out of my Office!!

Top 10 Reasons NOT to Throw Out the ‘Lipstick’

Brooke Shields in the Project Runway Jungle

On last night’s episode of Project Runway, the contestants were challenged to create a look for a high-powered and professional business woman. Weirdo Stella expressed her hope that it would be for Sharon Osbourne, since she’s a business woman… Riiiiight. Guest judge Brooke Shields was brought in and explained that the winning look would be worn on Lipstick Jungle by her character, Wendy- a Bohemian type business executive who is married to a musician. The garment had to be able to transition from a day in the office to a glamorous night on the town. Each contestant submitted their own design and Brooke chose 6 to move forward with and be team leaders. Of course, Stella drew up a leather corset, because that is so business-appropriate and all.

Some of the teams had serious issues (as they always do on team challenges). Keith wanted Kenley to “shut up and sew”, but seeing as how she is VERY opinionated and forthcoming with her thoughts, that didn’t work out so well. Luckily, the hideous floral pattern she picked never made it on the garment. Joe basically threw Korto under the bus to Tim, furthering my dislike and annoyance for him. Suede‘s sewing ability made Terri erupt into an angry rage, though Tim thought it was gorgeous so she then completely changed her tone. Daniel, the self-proclaimed high fashion designer with “impeccable taste” was incapable of rouching a skirt so Kelli made him rip it up and start over. Oddly enough, Jerrell and Stella got along fabulously because he let Stella have some leather and she just hammered away. Their garment won high praises from the judges for being a great blend of color and texture and being office-chic bohemian, but alas, they came in second place.

Keith and Kenley walked away with first place, but without immunity since his design will be worn on national television. Kelli’s design was deemed “slutty, slutty, slutty” by Michael Kors, and that was a very accurate description. Blayne and Leann‘s casual shorts outfit was more appropriate for a picnic than a day at the office or a night on the town, but at least Blayne “manned” up- if that’s at all possible since he is more feminine than I am- and took the fall for it. The judges criticized him for not listening to their advice and doing his own thing, but that critique is very reminiscent of Santino who made it to the runway show a couple years ago. In the end, Kelli’s poor taste and bad construction led to her demise as she was booted from the show. For the record, Daniel contributed nothing this week and has consistently been in the bottom because his “impeccable” taste SUCKS, but whatever.

Why Is Brooke Shields On Crutches?

Here is poor Brooke Shields on crutches going to St. John’s Hospital in Los Angeles yesterday.  Looks like she has something wrong with both feet!

Get better soon, Brooke!
