Las Vegas played host to music’s biggest acts on Sunday (May 20th) night for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Arena. The show was emceed by Modern Family stars Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell who kicked off the night with racy spoofs of various videos.

Adele, who did not attend, was awarded the most honors for the night – 12 gongs. LMFAO followed, taking home 7 awards for their party anthems.

Coldplay gathered up 4 wins, and Lady Gaga and Jason Aldean each nabbed 2 trophies.

Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Taylor Swift, Shakira and Beyonce didn’t leave empty handed. They all left with a single win.

The night was full of tributes as the artists paid homage to musical greats Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch of the Beastie Boys and Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees – all who passed away earlier this year.

Jordin Sparks sang Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and Natasha Bedingfield performed Summer’s “Last Dance.”

Alicia Keys presented Stevie Wonder with the Billboard Icon Award to close out the show.

The 45th Annual Country Music Association Awards are one of the year’s last big award shows before heading into the holidays and the nominees were announced today.

Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift are leading the pack with five nods and join Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley as the 4 artists with the most nominations.

They join Keith Urban as they duke it out for Entertainer of the Year. Paisley, Urban and Swift have previously taken the win, Aldean and Shelton are the newcomers this time around.

The Band Perry, Miranda Lambert and the Zac Brown Band follow with the second most nominations – they each earned four.

The 2011 CMA Awards will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood on November 9th and televised on ABC.

Carrie Underwood hit the blue carpet for the premiere of Soul Surfer in Hollywood on Wednesday night (March 30th.)

The American Idol winner makes her acting debut (this was filmed before her small role in the TV sitcom How I Met Your Mother) in the film about Bethany Hamilton, the teenager who lost her left arm from a shark attack, who went on to become a pro surfer.

“I think the most challenging aspect of making this movie, for me, is just that I’ve never done it before. This is all very new to me. I know how to sing…This is something, I’m way out of my element,” she revealed.

The 28 year-old singer opted for a beige tiered dress with black print and side bow/puff from Zuhair Murad.

Carrie Underwood took home the American Country Awards Artist of the Year, Female for 2010 on Monday December 6th in Las Vegas, Nevada. The inaugural show on FOX gifted the talented Underwood with 6 trophies for the evening as the country darling dazzled in a bright sparkly red gown.

Other winners for the night included Brad Paisley as Artist of the Year, Male; Blake Shelton with Trace Adkins and Lady Antebellum.

Talented Carrie Underwood is InStyle magazine’s December 2010 cover girl. The American Idol season four winner looks fantastic with sleek hair and a beautiful navy strapless gown. She says her fashion choices may be more conservative than others, but she is just fine with that:

“I love things that make me feel comfortable but aren’t too tight or showing too much cleavage,” she tells us. “That might be some people, but definitely not me. I can be sexy and still be classy. I don’t do outrageous outfits, and I never will.”

Underwood is experiencing a fantastic year – she married hockey player Mike Fisher, filmed her first acting role in the movie Soul Surfer with AnnaSophia Robb, and has her song “There’s A Place For Us” on the upcoming holiday release The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Underwood’s issue is on sale Friday, November 19th.

Carrie Underwood has released her latest music video and this one is great.  Mama’s Song has some of the most touching lyrics I’ve ever heard in a song.  Makes me cry every time.  Carrie really reached out to her fans in this video, sharing personal pictures, showing us more of who she is and where she came from.  I love it.

There are only 11 days left until Carrie Underwood is permanently taken off the market.  She and Mike Fisher are set to tie the knot on July 10th near Atlanta, GA.

Carrie Underwood Has Killer Legs (Photos)

Mike already had his bachelor party at Mansion down in Miami, so Carrie picked another hot spot for her bachelorette party, Sin City.  Sources told L&S that,

“Around midnight on June 25, Carrie landed at Las Vegas’ Lavo nightclub with about eight girlfriends.  She was wearing a minidress and a sash that said ‘bachelorette.’”

No surprise that Carrie’s party was a classy one,

“It wasn’t a rowdy bachelorette party.  No shots or singing or anything like that. It was just a group of girls dancing and having fun!”

That’s my girl Carrie.  You know she’s not the type to lose who she is.  I am so happy for her and Mike!  And OMG!  Carrie is going to make the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen!
