Rachel McAdams Gets Cheeky For February 2012 ‘Glamour’

Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams seems like the perfect Valentine for the February 2012 issue of Glamour.   She talks a lot about dating and even reveals her childhood crush (Josh Brolin!).

McAdams has dated several of her co-stars in the past, but she insists that it hers are not on-set romances.

‘A set may seem like a good place for romance but I don’t think it’s very conducive; it’s too distracting. Every relationship I’ve had with a co-worker has come after the fact, because you wind up actually spending a lot of time with those people promoting their movie.’

Read the whole interview here, and don’t forget to click through for more from her sassy photoshoot.

Bethenny Frankel Scares Me

Bethenny Frankel

It’s mid-November, and Halloween has already faded into but a distant memory – except for those Snickers that went straight to our thighs.  However, I could not resist just one more celebrity Halloween costume post.

Bethenny Frankel celebrated Halloween at Heidi Klum‘s infamous party, and I’m not sure who was scarier:  Klum as a skinned corpse, or Frankel as a kind of slutty Hello Kitty. This is a costume for a women easily 15 years (or more) younger than Frankel, but I don’t think she could have even pulled this off then.

Ready to be frightened?  Click through for more photos.

Andy Rooney Says Farewell To ’60 Minutes’

Andy Rooney said his final on-air good-bye to the viewers of 60 Minutes last night.

The CBS show announced the veteran commentator’s retirement from the long-running show and last night Rooney told the audience he wished he could continue.

“I wish I could do this forever,” Rooney remarked in his final on air essay. “I can’t, though.”

The 92 year-old writer has been delivering his signature cranky essays at the end of the broadcast for 33 years and said he was never comfortable in the public eye.

“I spent my first 50 years trying to become well known as a writer and the next 30 trying to avoid being famous,” Rooney said. “I walk down the street or go to a football game and people shout, ‘Hey, Andy!’ I hate that.”

Rooney had a great run on the show and finally found one thing not to complain about.

“I’ve done a lot of complaining here, but of all the things I’ve complained about, I can’t complain about my life.”

Sarah McLachlan Honors Flight 93 & 9/11 Victims With Moving Performance

Grammy winner Sarah McLachlan performed at the Flight 93 Memorial yesterday, honoring those who gave their lives as they fought the hijackers of their plane on September 11th, 2001.

At the dedication ceremony in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, McLachlan performed “Angel” for the victim’s families, members of the community, Vice President Joseph Biden and former presidents George W Bush and Bill Clinton.

“With their brave decision they launched the first counteroffensive in the war on terror,” former president Bush said at the ceremony. “Americans are alive today because the passengers and crew of Flight 93 chose to act, and we will forever be grateful.”

The ceremony ended with each passenger’s name being read aloud accompanied by bells tolling in their honor.

In terms of movie releases, The Big Lebowski is a modern classic worth picking up. I’m also a fan of The Muppets Take Manhattan which was a favorite as a child, I’d love to see it on blu-ray instead of the old scratchy VHS copy I used to view regularly.

Katherine Heigl to Star in ‘I Dream of Jeannie’?

Rumor has it that Katherine Heigl is the top choice to play Jeannie in the upcoming movie I Dream of Jeannie based on the 1960s TV series.

At least Heigl’s involvement in a proposed Jeannie film is, at most, a rumor that is being reported on The Daily. And even that report acknowledges the fact that the potential remake of the campy television sitcom has been around forever, formally with Lindsay Lohan attached to the lead role of a sexy genie released from a lamp to cause trouble for the man who sets her free.

I used to love watching that show when I was a kid, but a movie is so unnecessary. I wish they would just leave certain things alone, but this is all about cashing in for the studio. It’s pretty much guaranteed to be bad, I don’t see how they could possibly make a good movie out of this.

Meet the Dwarves of ‘The Hobbit’ in Production Video #3

Here’s the third production video for the upcoming films The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again.

Well this video is jam packed with great footage. It gives a great look at the dwarves in the movie, along with their varying looks and personalities. There was no need for Peter Jackson to do anything for Comic-Con this year with this video out. Since the first movie is out in December 2012, I’m sure next year’s Comic-Con will be a huge Hobbit-fest.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ First Teaser Trailer Arrives!

Here’s the brand new teaser trailer for next summer’s mega-sequel The Dark Knight Rises.

Not a lot is shown in this teaser other than a quick glimpse at Bane and his massive stature. The teaser definitely gives the impression that Batman may die in the end, something that will be debated for the next twelve months leading up to it’s release on July 20th, 2012.
