Josh Brolin Arrested For Public Intoxication On New Year’s Eve

Josh Brolin

There’s no better place to ring in the New Year than the pokey, and that’s just where actor Josh Brolin found himself in the late hours of December 31.  TMZ reports that Brolin was nabbed by Santa Monica Police for public intoxication shortly before the clock struck midnight.  He was booked and spent about four hours in jail before being released.

The short jail stint was about all the punishment Brolin’s going to get for this minor infraction: there was no citation issued.  Perhaps a little dry-out in the drunk tank was all he needed.

Katt Williams In Nightclub Brawl Just Hours After Leaving Jail For Child Endangerment

Katt Williams

Katt Williams is single handedly keeping defense attorneys in business.  I have lost track of how many times he’s been arrested lately, but he’s gone and done it again.  He was arrested at home on Friday on suspicion of child endangerment.   TMZ reports that L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services found there were “numerous guns and illegal drugs in the house that created a safety hazard for the kids.”

Arrested In Seattle – Comedian Katt Williams Lands In Jail

(That would be his eight children, one biological and seven adopted.  They were reportedly put in protective custody while Dad went to jail.)

However, E! reports that it was one particular gun, that was loaded – and stolen – that led to Williams’ arrest.  Whoops.

Katt was bailed out, only to get involved in a brawl outside a Hollywood club that evening.  He and his buddy Suge Knight – with whom he was detained by police just a week earlier – got into it with a bunch of guys swinging punches outside Eden Nightclub.  You have to wonder whether dude goes looking for trouble, or why it so easily finds him.

Veteran Journalist Sam Donaldson Tagged For DUI

Sam Donaldson

It’s not such a good thing when the guy who reports the news actually becomes the news, but that’s just what’s happened to Sam Donaldson:  he was arrested on a DUI charge earlier this month.

On December 1, Donaldson was pulled over in the town of Lewes, Delaware when a police officer saw him drive onto the shoulder.  Donaldson failed a field sobriety test, was arrested and booked, and then released.    He’s due in court to answer for his transgression, but the date of his hearing has not been released.

The veteran newsman has been with ABC since 1967, and twice served as the network’s White House Correspondent, from 1977-89 and from 1998-99.  At 78 years old, he is officially retired but still occasionally provides commentary and reports.

Dallas Cowboys Linebacker Killed In Crash, Teammate Arrested For Manslaughter

 Jerry Brown

More tragedy has struck the NFL.  Dallas Cowboys practice squad linebacker Jerry Brown was killed in an Irving, Texas auto accident early Saturday morning.  His teammate, Josh Brent, who was driving the car, has been charged and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

TMZ reports Brent’s car hit the curb and flipped, landing upside down in the middle of the road.   When police arrived, the car was on fire and Brent was pulling an unresponsive Brown away from the vehicle.  Brent failed a field sobriety test and was taken to the hospital for a blood alcohol test.   Brown was also taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.   He was 25 years old.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones gave this statement today:

”We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown. At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry’s family and all of those who knew him and loved him.”

Brent remains in jail where he is being held without bond.   He evidently missed a booking hearing on Saturday at 10:00 am because he was still too drunk.

Josh Brent

Intoxication manslaughter is a second degree felony.  This is Brent’s second DUI charge.  In 2009 he plead guilty to DUI in Illinois and was sentenced to 60 days in jail and 2 years probation, which he completed in July 2011.

Brown’s death comes just a week after Kansas City Chiefs player Jovan Belcher killed himself and his girlfriend.

Arrested In Seattle – Comedian Katt Williams Lands In Jail

Katt Williams

Katt Williams‘ aggressive behavior landed him in the pokey on Sunday.   The comedian, who was in town performing, got into an argument with a couple in a Seattle bar that escalated into what sounds like a scene from Cops.    Here’s what went down in the bizarre scene.

Williams was playing pool at the World Sports Grille when he and a couple got into a verbal altercation.  Things got out of hand, and the bar manager stepped in to separate them.  Williams brandished his pool cue in the manager’s face.  He then followed a family outside to their car, flicked a cigarette into the face of one of the family members, and threw a rock at the vehicle.

When police arrived, according to CNN, Williams became even more agitated.  He made a fuss, refused to show ID (although later officers found his passport on him), threatened the officer’s job and ended up “on the ground” at one point.

Williams was booked at King County Jail and released early Monday.

The Seattle incident is just the most recent in a string of strange behaviors by the comedian.   In October, he was questioned for allegedly pulling a gun on actor Faizon Love.  Last month he was arrested for alleged battery in Oakland; two days later, he melted down during a performance there.  In the span of 10 minutes he “confronted a heckler, took his clothes off and attempted to fight at least three audience members.”  Several days later, he led Sacramento cops on a chase through town after he was seen driving a three wheeled motorcycle on the sidewalk and refused to pull over.

The next stop on his current tour takes him to Houston and then New Orleans.  He’s sure to make some news there.

Lawyer Up! Tiffany Mitchell Hires Gloria Allred To Take Down Lindsay Lohan

 Gloria Allred

Tiffany Mitchell, the Florida psychic who was punched in the face by Lindsay Lohan in a Manhattan nightclub, isn’t messing around here, OK?  She’s hired publicity hound attorney Gloria Allred to represent her interests and her conflict with the increasingly troubled trainwreck.

Mitchell might need all the help she can get.  While one former client has come forward describing her as a “professional liar,” others are far more direct in their opinion of Mitchell’s so-called psychic powers.  In 2009, user Mury Amen left this review on Insider Pages:

This skank is fake!  This skank is a fraud and a fake. DO NOT go to her. She deserves to die a horroble [sic], painful, bloody death. F*CK this fake skank.  She is a complete fraud!

No wonder she didn’t see the clock to the face coming.

Meanwhile, Lilo continues to deny that she physically assaulted Mitchell, but does admit that she used the slur “gypsy.”  Mitchell’s husband, Wayne Stevens, was particularly upset by that comment.  He said:

“We are not Gypsies. That has nothing to do with our religion … it was a racist comment.”

Lohan is due in court to answer charges of misdemeanor assault on January 7th.

This Was Not Lindsay Lohan’s Day: Arrested In NYC, Charged In CA

Lindsay Lohan

Just when you think Lindsay Lohan can’t dig herself any deeper, she amazes us all with her ability to work that shovel.    The troubled actress (can we still call her that?) was arrested in New York early Thursday morning for punching a woman in the face in a Meatpacking District nightclub.  Hours later, she was charged with three misdemeanors related to her June car crash in Santa Monica.   What can you say, she likes keeping defense attorneys in business.

Lohan was partying in the VIP area of Avenue (a club from which she was once banned) when she felt crowded by Tiffany Ava Mitchell, a Palm Beach psychic .  (Sources say she may have already been pissed that she wasn’t getting the attention she felt she deserved from Max George of The Wanted, who was also partying at the club.)  Lilo reportedly yelled, “I need space,” shoved and then punched Mitchell.  (Couldn’t she see it coming?  OK, bad psychic joke.)  911 was called, but Lohan tried to slip out the back door before police arrived.  Mitchell pointed her out to police, who arrested her at 4:00 am.   She was booked, charged with third-degree assault and released about four hours later, and is due in court on January 7.

Lindsay Lohan:  Headed Back To The Pokey For Lying About Car Crash?

Despite his client’s recent spate of arrests, attorney Mark Jay Heller says she’s the victim.   He said:

“Once again, Lindsay Lohan is a victim of someone trying to capture their 15 minutes of fame.  From my initial investigation, I am completely confident that this case will be concluded favorably and that Lindsay will be totally exonerated.”

Meanwhile, on the other coast, Lohan was brought up on three misdemeanor charges for lying to Santa Monica police in June about who was driving her Porsche when it crashed into a dump truck.    She told them her assistant was behind the wheel, but earlier this month, investigators found evidence indicating that Lohan was the one driving.   Now she’s charged with obstructing an investigation, giving false information to a police officer and reckless driving.  The Wall Street Journal says that Lohan’s California attorney Shawn Holley did not comment.

Lindsay Lohan Scuffle With Congressional Staffer Results In No Charges

Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner will decide whether either or both of these incidents violates Lilo’s probation for some of her past bad behavior.  She warned Lohan back in March (when she was in court for – surprise! – probation violation) that she could land herself in jail for as long as 245 days if she didn’t shape up.

Four misdemeanor charges in one day.  Is that a record?  Just keep digging that hole…..

Two Of Three Playboy Triplets Arrested, Charged With Assault In Strip Club Brawl

Sarah (L) and Vicki (R) Satterfield

Former nude Playboy models Vicki and Sarah Satterfield were arrested for starting a drunken fight in a suburban Ohio strip club last weekend.

The story reads like a transcript of the Jerry Springer Show, so grab a bottle of Boone’s Farm and settle in.  The fight broke out in the dressing room of the Brass Pole, where the sisters were previously employed.  They returned for a special 80s Nite, but according to Vicki, the other dancers didn’t like Satterfields’ “glamorous” attire.   Vicki and another stripper started throwing things at each other, which sparked a fight between “at least six dancers.”

But it wasn’t their fault!  Sarah says that the dancer provoked the fight by cussing her out.  And here’s what Sarah told a 911 dispatcher:

“A lot of girls attacked us and ripped all of our hair out and stuff, and we can’t find our cell phone or anything, and all of the girls like laughed and just thought it was funny that people attacked us.  They pulled the hair out if my head, and I was attacked by five girls in the dressing room.”

Surveillance video tells a different story, however.

But it doesn’t end there.  Club manager Melissa Anderson then took the sisters to the bar to separate them from the other dancers.  Oops, bad idea.  Vicki started lobbing beer bottles, and possibly also assaulted the bartender.  When Anderson tried to remove Vicki from the club, both sisters attacked her.  Surveillance tape also confirms this.

However, Sarah says Anderson wasn’t just mad at them for the fight.  Evidently Anderson had asked the sisters to return to work at a pudding wrestling match.  Says Sarah: “We told her we don’t wrestle, we’re too pretty, and I think that made her mad.”

And it gets worse…evidently during her arrest, Vicki cussed at police officers and threatened to kill Anderson.

Both sisters plead not guilty to assault.  They’re now out on bail and await a hearing in December.

Vicki and Sarah are two of the three Satterfield Triplets. Along with their sister Rachel, they posed nude for Playboy’s August 2007 issue. At the time, Vicki said it was “a dream come true.”   Dream big, baby.  Dream big.

Edward Furlong Arrested At LAX On Suspicion Of Domestic Violence

Edward Furlong was arrested on suspicion of domestic abuse while at Los Angeles International airport when an argument with his girlfriend turned violent.

The Terminator actor allegedly grabbed his girlfriend’s arm after a shouting match between the two caught the attention of officers. Furlong had such a hold on her, he left bruises on her arms.

The police took the actor into custody for felony domestic violence and he is being held on $50,000 bail.

This isn’t Furlong’s first arrest. The 35 year-old has been arrested for domestic violence and breaching a restraining order against his estranged wife, Rachel Bella. He has had a history of substance abuse problems and has also been arrested for DUI and driving without a license. Furlong also spent some time behind bars for creating a disturbance at a Kentucky restaurant when he tried to free lobsters in the dining room tank.

Glam Rocker Gary Glitter Arrested, Released In Jimmy Savile Sex Abuse Scandal

Gary Glitter

1970s Pop-glam rocker Gary Glitter (Paul Gadd) was arrested this morning in London in conjunction with the ongoing and expanding investigation of the Jimmy Savile child sexual abuse scandal.  He was questioned and released on bail several hours later, but ordered to return in December for further questioning.

Scotland Yard did not specify why the singer was arrested, but he was recently accused of abusing young teenagers in Savile’s dressing room at the BBC.  Regardless, Glitter’s history makes him an obvious suspect.  He was arrested in 1997 for child pornography found on his computer; he served four months in jail for the offense.  He moved to Southeast Asia, where he was arrested in Cambodia and served jail time in Vietnam for committing obscene acts with a child as young as ten years old.   He was released in 2008 and returned to the United Kingdom after being denied entry to the Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand.   Despite this long history of child sex crimes, for which he’s been twice registered as a sex offender in the UK, he continues to deny wrongdoing.

The extent of the Savile scandal continues to grow, with more than 300 suspected victims and 400 leads to date.
