Redmond O’Neal Busted For Heroin Possession – Again

Still struggling with sobriety, Redmond O’Neal, son of the late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal, was arrested in Santa Monica, California on Tuesday after being pulled over for a traffic violation and police found drugs in his car.

Redmond, 26, was stopped for making a left hand turn on a red light. The subsequent search of his car (which he consented to) turned up marijuana and heroin.

O’Neal was booked for the traffic violation, drug possession and parole violations. He is currently being held without bail while awaiting his next court appearance.

The troubled son of Fawcett and O’Neal has spent various lengths of time in and out of substance abuse programs and jails. He was arrested in 2009 for heroin possession while on probation for DUI and methamphetamine charges.

O’Neal was just days away from celebrating his one-year anniversary of sobriety after spending another stint in court-ordered rehab.

Lindsay Lohan’s Ex, Samantha Ronson Arrested For DUI

DJ Samantha Ronson was arrested for DUI at 10:30 AM Monday morning while driving through the California town of Baker.

The 33 year-old was leaving Las Vegas in a black Porsche with a female friend when she was pulled over for speeding.

Officers gave Ronson a field sobriety test that she did not pass. When the police asked her to take a “roadside blow” test (a less accurate breathalyzer,) she refused and was arrested.

The deejay was transported to the police station and she did submit to a breathalyzer at the station where it was determined she was well over the legal limit.

Ronson was reportedly cooperative through the process.

Ronson was working at Lavo nightclub in Sin City and on her way back from her gig when she was pulled over.

Samantha dated Lindsay Lohan in 2008 and into 2009 at the height of Lohan’s personal troubles. She is also the sister of British musician and producer Mark Ronson.

Lindsay Lohan Turns Herself In, Begins House Arrest

Lindsay Lohan is in the clink again, sort of.  She began serving her house arrest term Thursday morning after turning herself in at the Lynwood Jail.   What’d she do now?  I know it’s hard to keep track of Lindsay’s various legal issues; she has so many.   She pulled four months of jail time for stealing a necklace, remember?  But since the jails are overcrowded, she’s evidently eligible for house arrest.   Lucky girl.

Lilo was processed, fitted with an ankle bracelet (something she’s used to), and sent home, where she’s expected to stay put for at least the next 35 days.  The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department explained:

“She is now confined to the interior premises of her home at all times.”

Certain, as-yet unspecified, exceptions could allow her to leave her home during her term.  However, one thing is for certain: she won’t be let out to work off the 480 hours of community service she’s also been sentenced to. She’s been forbidden to do community service while under house arrest.

It will be interesting to see whether any of this actually does Lindsay any good.   I’m not holding my breath, though.

Nicolas Cage Arrest: No Charges Will Be Filed

Nicolas Cage is in less trouble than expected following his arrest for domestic abuse in New Orleans last month.    Local law enforcement has decided not to pursue the case, and is dropping the charges.

His attorney, Harry Rosenberg, commented:

“The New Orleans District Attorney has confirmed that no charges of any kind will be pursued against him.  “After their investigation, the DAs refused all charges against Nick and the matter has been closed.

“We are pleased that the process led to the correct result, despite inaccurate media reports, and that Nick has been cleared and all charges have been dropped.”

Nick’s arrest was the result of a loud, drunken, public argument with his wife, Alice Kim.

Nicolas Cage Arrested On Domestic Violence Charges

Actor Nicolas Cage was arrested in New Orleans’ French Quarter on Saturday morning.   He was charged with domestic abuse and disturbing the peace following a drunken argument with his wife, Alice Kim.

Here’s his mug shot, where he does indeed look quite drunk.

People provided this quote from a statement by the New Orleans Police Department:

“Cage and his wife were standing in front of a residence that he insisted was the property the couple was renting. She disagreed, and Cage grabbed her by the upper arm and pulled her to what he believed was the correct address. There were no visible signs of injury on his wife’s arm.

“The actor then began striking vehicles and later attempted to get into a taxi. At that point, an officer who had been flagged down by onlookers drove up on the couple, immediately observed that Cage was heavily intoxicated and ordered him out of the cab, which prompted Cage to start yelling. The officers subsequently took Cage to Central Lock-up.”

Cage was held for eight hours before he was released on $11,000 bond.  TMZ is reporting that his bond was posted by Duane “Dog” Chapman of the reality show Dog The Bounty Hunter.   His wife must have been still pretty pissed off not to have posted his bail.  Or maybe she was just too drunk still?  Or maybe they don’t have the money… Cage is still being pursued by the IRS over unpaid taxes.

Paz De La Huerta Arrested After Alleged Assault Of Samantha Swetra

Boardwalk Empire actress Paz de la Huerta was arrested in New York City on Tuesday night after an alleged assault over the weekend.

The actress got into a scuffle with former City star Samantha Swetra and de la Huerta threw a glass at Swerta, allegedly punched her in the face at a party Sunday evening.

TMZ reports that Paz and Samantha argued at The Standard Hotel over a male companion and that Swetra made “snide remarks” about how drunk de la Huerta supposedly was.

Swetra had glass shards in her leg which friends had to help remove and Paz was removed by security.

The actress of the award winning Empire is making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. In January the site also reported that de la Huerta was denied access to a Golden Globes party because she was too drunk.

Paz is due back in court on April 18th.

Lindsay Lohan Survelliance Video Will Show Up Online Soon

Lindsay Lohan might be the luckiest gal going right now.

In what could be seen as a complete compromise of her possible impending trial, the surveillance footage that is a key piece of evidence in her grand theft charge, has been sold to a company who is promising to stream it online.

Kamofie & Co., the jewelry store that Lohan is charged with stealing a $2,500 gold necklace from, has made their bank account fatter by selling the video to Spencer & Co. of Beverly Hills, which says it will post the video soon, for all the world to see.

“Speculation as to what occurred that day has been the subject of intense rumor in the media and elsewhere. Many individuals want to be able to see the video streams from the jewelry store’s surveillance cameras, and we have obtained the exclusive license for them. The tapes speak for themselves.”

As of now, photo stills from the footage is exclusive to ET Online and show the actress in the store trying on pieces. The photos do not show (or make clear) that Lohan is trying on the necklace that she left with but does show the friend with her, who allegedly distracted the clerk, just before the pair left the building.

Prosecutors are said to be unhappy about the sale of the tape. The credibility of the store owners would be called into question if plea negotiations fail and the owners need to testify.

If Shawn Holley, Lohan’s attorney, is able to convince a jury that the company was out to make a buck off of the actress, it would bolster Lindsay’s case.

Why are people allowed to compromise evidence or a possible jury pool like this? Do you think, with an impending court case, anyone should be able to sell their story or videos?

I think Kamofie & Co. should be ashamed of themselves. If they truly believe Lohan was a thief, they should have let the court system sort it out and not made a dollar off of her problems. At the very least, it could have waited until after the charges were settled.

They’ve received plenty of free publicity and notoriety. I certainly hope it’s not the terrible money grab it seems – Lindsay’s freedom is on the line and some things should be more important.

Kamofie & Co. get nothing but scorn from me.

What do you think?

John Galliano Issues Apology, Faces Possible Prosecution

Former House of Dior designer John Galliano is issuing an apology for his behavior and remarks culminating in an arrest in Paris in February (see that story here.)

The British designer, who virtually resurrected the venerable fashion house when hired, has been fired and is reportedly in rehab, issued the following apology:

In a statement he said “anti-Semitism and racism have no part in our society. I unreservedly apologise for my behavior in causing any offence…I only have myself to blame. I am seeking help and all I can hope for is time to address the personal failure which led to these circumstances.”

Galliano goes on to say that he felt provoked and attacked and lashed out at the aggressors:

In the statement he said, “I was subjected to verbal harassment and unprovoked assault when an individual tried to hit me with a chair having taken violent exception to my look and my clothing.”

The 50 year-old is facing a possible six months in jail if convicted of the anti-Semitic remarks in France.

Galliano’s design shows with House of Dior will still take place Friday, March 4th and his own label’s show will run on Sunday, March 6th. The designer will reportedly not be present and stay in treatment.
