Katy Perry was among many celebrities partying Friday night at the Mirage in Las Vegas.  The casino was celebrating the grand opening kick-off weekend of its new club, 1 OAK, with a party sponsored by J. Molinari jewelry.   Katy was on hand to help her BFF, designer Markus Molinari host the shindig.

And since you’ve got a bunch of folks with money together in one room, why not raise some money for a good cause while you’re at it?  The event was also a benefit for GiveLove, an organization founded by Rosetta Getty and Patricia Arquette.  GiveLove supports the development of community-led sanitation projects in Haiti.   A very worthy (and necessary) cause!

This was Katy’s first red carpet appearance since the news broke about her divorce from Russell Brand.  She sure doesn’t look like she’s letting that bring her down!   Get more pictures after the jump.

Demi Moore is filing for divorce from her husband of six years, Ashton Kutcher.

The 49 year-old actress released a statement:

“As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life,” she said.

After news broke of Kutcher’s alleged affair with 23 year-old coed Sara Leal, Moore and Kutcher have spent time working on their marriage, including a camping trip with a Kabbalah instructor and time at Demi’s ex-husband Bruce Willis‘ vacation home in the Turks and Caicos.

“I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail,” Kutcher tweeted.

Ashley Greene wowed the crowd with her gorgeous look at the Avon Foundation Awards Gala 2011 in New York City on November 2nd.

The Twilight: Breaking Dawn actress was stunning in a beautiful blue one-shoulder dress from Donna Karan. The draped and fitted gown had a slit up the thigh and fell to mid-calf length.

She opted for a simple pair of black pumps and styled her hair with a soft, sexy take on 40s era, old Hollywood curls.

Greene, 24, presented Cynthia Leive, editor-in-chief of Glamour magazine, with the 2011 Voice for Change Champion Award.

Glamour and The Avon Foundation partnered for the Tell Somebody text-to-donate campaign. The partnership called attention to partner violence and challenged women to ask for or offer help without judgement.

Ashley was recently announced as the new spokesperson for DKNY.

She and costar, Robert Pattinson were in Brussels, Belgium to promote The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 opening.

Prince William and Kate Middleton toured a UN aid depot in Copenhagen where they helped pack boxes headed to drought ravaged East Africa.

The food shortage is affecting an estimated 13 million people. Middleton called the crisis “shocking.”

The British royal couple were guests of Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederick and his wife, Australian-born Crown Prince Mary and the Danish hosts accompanied them as they visited a UNICEF emergency supply center.

“The rains have come now and … that doesn’t necessarily mean things are going to get better at all,” William said. “In fact, disease becomes a huge issue. And so it’s very much a case of anyone who can do anything to help, please do.”

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, donned a hard hat along with the other royals and packed boxes for the humanitarian organization’s effort. Prince William tasted the high-protein peanut paste that is sent in the relief packages. Kate declined a sample of the food.

The fashionable Duchess of Cambridge wore a beautiful long red coat cinched at the waist with a belt by L.K. Bennett.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Royal Marsden in Sutton, Surrey to open the Oak Centre for Children and Young People – a new cancer ward for the hospital.

Prince William and Kate Middleton were met by a waiting crowd as they drove up to the medical facility where people lined the balconies to get a glimpse of the royal couple.

The Duchess wore a simple cream colored Amanda Wakeley dress with her LK Bennett nude heels. The Duke, who donned a navy suit, removed his jacket once inside and the couple sat with 14 year-old patient Digby Davidson on his bed chatting.

“William was joking about Digby’s flip flops and shorts – he said he had a tropical theme that fitted in with the decor,” Digby’s mother, Hermoine Davidson said.

The Prince had the opportunity to reconnect with a cancer patient he met two years ago. Alice Marples, 12, had interviewed William for the CBBC Newsround program and she presented Kate with a bouquet of flowers.

William had a bit of a sleepless night before the event. The future King, who is a search and rescue pilot in the RAF, was on a regular 24 hour shift and carried out a “compassionate call-out” flying a serviceman in from a warship off the Isle of Mann and bringing a casualty in from Snowdonia with a serious head injury.

William was named president of the Royal Marsden Hospital in 2007. His mother, the late Princess Diana, held the title until her death in 1997.

Brooke Hogan, the daughter of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, has stirred up a little controversy with her new photos.

The pictures of Brooke nude and caged were taken by Jordan Michael Zuniga for an exhibit at Miami’s Cafeina Lounge to raise awareness of caging animals. The proceeds of the sale of the photographs will go to PETA.

The 23 year-old singer said she wanted to give a voice to abused animals.

“I’ve always had a love for animals, and I’ve seen abuse firsthand. It ignited my passion for saving them even more,” Brooke told the Miami New Times. “The worst part is that they are voiceless in our world.”

At the unveiling, Brooke brought her father to the show and Hulk made a bit of a joke about seeing his daughter in the buff by using his hands to cover up her private parts.

The two took a lot of heat on twitter claiming that the father and daughter were “perverted.” Brooke responded angrily.

“Im SO sick of people saying me and my dad are in some perverted relationship! Go home and do your own thing! Stop picking on me,” she tweeted.

Another teenager who was bullied committed suicide over the weekend and Lady Gaga is vowing to take action.

Jamey Rodemeyer, a 14 year-old high school freshman from the Buffalo, NY suburb of Williamsville, was found dead outside his home on Sunday morning, had been the subject of bullying for over a year, according to his parents.

The teenager tried to stay positive, even posting an online message of hope for the “It Gets Better” anti-suicide campaign in May but the taunts and harassment were too much for him and he took his own life.

Rodemeyer, who called Lady Gaga his role model, said she made him “happy” with her “Born This Way” message.

Now the pop superstar wants action taken against bullies and to make it a hate crime.

“Jamey Rodemeyer, 14 yrs old, took his life because of bullying,” she tweeted. “Bullying must become be illegal. It is a hate crime.”

“I am meeting with our President,” she continued. “I will not stop fighting. This must end. Our generation has the power to end it. Trend it #MakeALawForJamey”

It is unclear when or where Lady Gaga will meet with President Obama on this, but he is attending the second Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention Summit, taking place yesterday and today.

In the end, it was Jamey’s father, Tim Rodemeyer, who said it best:

“To the kids who are bullying they have to realize that words are very powerful and what you think is just fun and games isn’t to some people, and you are destroying a lot of lives.”

Amy Winehouse would have turned 28 this week, and her father Mitch Winehouse is marking the occasion with the launch of the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

The charity will have two purposes:  to help young people struggling with addiction, and offer underprivileged kids scholarships to performing arts schools.

Mitch says that he’s going to start with lobbying for a “radical overhaul” of the United Kingdom’s drug treatment programs.    He told The Sun:

“I am being compelled by Amy because there are kids out there who desperately need help.  Our strength lies in our lobbying position. And that’s all going to be in her name.”

Last week, Mitch told Anderson Cooper that he suspected a prescription drug was responsible for Amy’s death on July 23.  While toxicology reports showed no illegal drugs in her system, tests found traces of the prescription drug Librium, which is often used to treat alcoholics in withdrawal.   Librium is known to cause seizures, and Mitch thinks this is what killed his daughter.

Wednesday will also see the debut of Amy’s last recording, a duet of the jazz standard “Body and Soul” with legendary crooner Tony Bennett.   Proceeds from the song will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Jamie Lee Curtis looked fabulous on the pink carpet at Elyse Walker‘s Pink Party ’11.  The annual event is a fashion show and party to raise funds for Cedars-Sinai Hospital‘s Women’s Cancer Program.

Jamie played a special role at this year’s party:  she hosted the live auction.  She told The Hollywood Reporter why she supports this cause:

“the spirit is unique. I’m not a style person, but it’s fun to see how people develop the theme. Try though I might, I fail miserably at being a style-y girl.”

She’s too modest!  I love her outfit:  bubblegum pink top, black pants and peep toe shoes.

Actress Daryl Hannah was arrested in Washington D.C., yesterday for protesting the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast.

Hannah, 50, and several other protesters were taken into custody following a sit-in in front of the White House.

“We stand here today to just say no to slavery, to just say no to tar, sands, oil, and no to the Keystone pipeline,” the Splash actress said Tuesday afternoon, just before her arrest.

Critics of the project say the way the oil is extracted from the tar sands is detrimental to the environment.

Hannah has been arrested before for peaceful environmental protesting.

” Sometimes it’s necessary to sacrifice your freedom for a greater freedom,” she said. “And we want to be free from the horrible death and destruction that fossil fuels cause, and have a clean energy future.”

The State Department is expected to make a decision by the end of the year on allowing the pipeline expansion.
