Lindsay Lohan Is In And Out Of Jail In Under Five Hours

Lindsay Lohan should have her own personal revolving door installed at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif., because she has passed in and out once again.

Lohan reported to the jail on Sunday night to begin her sentence for violating conditions of her probabtion. TMZ is reporting the actress went in at 9pm on November 6th and was released at around 1:30am on Monday morning, November 7th.

Lohan, 25, was sentenced to 30 days by Judge Stephanie Sautner but because of a federal mandate to ease overcrowding, nonviolent offenders are released early.

It was thought Lohan would be incarcerated for about 6 of the 30 days, but that turned out to be a very high estimate of the length of her stay.

Lohan is still on probation and the judge has tightened the requirements Lindsay must meet to complete her 270 hours of community service. She will have monthly goals to meet in order to successfully complete her time.

If she fails to make any of Sautner’s deadlines, she could have an arrest warrant issued for her and sent back to prison.

Lindsay Lohan (Dresses Appropriately For Court) Gets Sentenced To 30 Days For Parole Violation

Lindsay Lohan went to court today, dressed in a modest navy and white polka-dot dress, to find out exactly what her sentence would be for violating conditions of her probation.

Lohan, who was kicked out of the Downtown Women’s Shelter in Los Angeles for being a no-show, faced Judge Stephanie Sautner this morning in court and was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

The judge also was absolutely clear – no house arrest for Lindsay, she will be incarcerated.

Because of over-crowding, almost all non-violent offenders in California only serve 20% of that time behind bars. That translates to approximately 6 days of time.

Once she’s out of jail, the rest of Lohan’s remaining probation conditions were altered slightly – she must do all her community service at the Los Angeles County Morgue.

Sautner outlined a schedule for Lindsay to complete her time and she must start her work at the morgue the next business day.

Beginning December 14th, she must have completed 12 days at the morgue and 4 psychotherapy sessions. By January 17th, 12 more days and 4 more sessions. Each month she has to have that minimum number of days of work and therapy until the end of her probation – March 29, 2012.

Lindsay was also cautioned about tweeting her experiences at the morgue.

If she fails to comply the judge said she will issue an arrest warrant for Lohan and she will serve 270 days in jail.

Lohan was given until November 9th to surrender to be allowed to finish her Playboy shoot and get any personal affairs in order before she spends her week in a single cell.

Can I just say that I have high hopes for Lindsay because she dressed appropriately, finally! It could be a turning point and I hope it shows that she really understands that she’s responsible for her own predicament.

Matthew Fox Won’t Face Charges Over Bus Brawl, Will Face Civil Suit

Matthew Fox can breathe a little easier as the actor just found out criminal charges will not be filed over an alleged party bus brawl that happened in Cleveland at the end of August.

At the time, the 45 year-old actor who was said by witnesses to be inebriated, was attempting to board a private party bus and was denied access by the van’s driver, Heather Bormann.

Bormann and witnesses told officers that Fox punched her in the stomach, groin and chest.

The spokesman for the city, Andrea Taylor said the district attorney decided not to pursue the matter against the LOST actor “after a thorough review of the facts.”

Bormann, a single mother of three, filed a civil suit against the actor on Tuesday and her attorney, J. Norman Stark said he thought Fox got away without being charged because he was famous.

This was an unprovoked attack on a woman, with no provocation, by a man,” Stark said. “According to Ohio law, that is assault.”

Stark says he has pictures of injuries Bormann sustained from the incident and believes that Fox is receiving “preferential treatment because he is who he is – an actor.”

In the civil suit, Bormann is asking for a reported $25,000 – $75,000 in damages.

John Galliano Found Guilty Of Anti-Semitic Rant In Parisian Court

John Galliano was found guilty of “public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity” in a Parisian courtroom today and fined over $8,000.

The designer’s fine is suspended – as long as no other incidents occur he will not have to pay. He does however, have to pay court costs for the anti-racism groups that supported the charge. The maximum Galliano could’ve been fined was $32,175 and could’ve spent six months in jail.

The charges stem from a a February incident at La Perle cafe where the now-shamed designer spewed anti-Semitic vitriol at a couple and from an October 2010 incident at the same cafe when he publicly insulted another woman.

At the time of the trial, Galliano told the court he was unable to recall the altercation because he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The 50 year-old did not appear today in court but did testify in June.

Galliano has issued an apology to the victims and has said he suffered from discrimination too because of his homosexuality.

The designer once heralded by the fashion world lost his job at Dior where he worked for over a decade and has sought treatment for drug and alcohol addiction in the U.S. and Switzerland.

Kim Kardashian Suing Old Navy For Ads Using Look-Alike Melissa Molinaro

Kim Kardashian has a considerable amount of endorsement deals but Old Navy isn’t one of them and she’s making sure everyone knows it.

The 30 year-old reality TV star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians has filed a lawsuit against Old Navy’s parent company The Gap, Inc. claiming the company is creating confusion for not only using the look-alike star (Melissa Molinaro) in commercials, they are using twitter and her name to continue the charade.

“We’re seeking damages according to proof,” Kardashian’s attorney Gary Hecker told the Daily News.

“Kim Kardashian is immediately recognizable and is known for her look and style. Her identity and persona are valuable. When her intellectual property rights are violated, she intends to enforce them,” he continued.

The ads originally aired in February featuring Molinaro dancing and lip-synching to the tune “Super C-U-T-E.”

Kardashian is reported to be particularly upset over the tweets the company posted to it’s page and using her twitter account to promote the brand.

“Breaking News!! @CBSNEWS reports that Old Navy’s Super CUTE star looks like @kimkardashian. #LOL. What do you think?”

Kim’s legal reps said the ads ‘evoke her identity’ and the damages they are seeking is thought to be somewhere in the $15 to $20 million range.

“Old Navy launched a multimedia advertising campaign featuring television and online ads that misappropriate Kardashian’s likeness in the form of a celebrity look-alike, and styled the infringing ads to evoke Kardashian’s identity and persona.”

Kardashian promotes everything from perfume and jewelry to Midori Melon Liquer, Sketchers, Silly Bandz and her own clothing stores DASH. She is set to wed NBA star Kris Humphries sometime late summer.

Molinaro has since starred in the direct-to-video movie Honey 2 with The Vampire Diaries Kat Graham and is now dating Kim’s ex, Reggie Bush.

Lady Gaga Says Lawsuit For Alleged Japan Charity Scam Is “Without Merit”

Remember the bracelets that Lady Gaga was selling to raise funds for Japan relief?   Evidently no good deed goes unpunished.  Gaga has been slapped with a lawsuit alleging that this effort was actually a scam, and that she personally profited from the sale of the wristbands.

Let’s review:  the bracelets cost $5 each.  On top of that, Gaga’s website charges $3.99 in shipping and $0.60 in taxes.  The federal class action suit claims that Gaga charged inflated shipping costs and also kept part of the $5 for herself rather than donating all of the proceeds to charity.    It is not clear how the attorneys in the case, 1-800-LAW-FIRM, or the plaintiffs, know what exactly happened with the money.  Read the complaint here.

Gaga’s spokesperson, Holly Shakoor, had harsh words in response to this legal action:

‘This misguided lawsuit is without merit and unfortunately takes attention away from the kind deeds of the fans around the world who are supporting the people of Japan.  The entire five dollar donation made with the purchase of each bracelet is going to support the disaster relief.  No profit is being made on shipping costs. Sales tax charges were made in accordance with local legal requirements.

‘Lady Gaga has personally pledged her own funds to this cause and continues to support the victims of the disaster.’

The Mother Monster has reportedly made donations of about $3 million to the cause to date.

What do you think?  Did Gaga actually do wrong?  Or are some lawyers just trying to make a buck?  Honestly, $3.99 for shipping doesn’t seem like that much.   And keep in mind that she earned an estimated $90 million last year.   Do we really think Lady Gaga go to such lengths to to set up a charity scam to get a few extra dollars out of her fans?

Lindsay Lohan Isn’t Headed To Jail

No jail time is on the table for Lindsay Lohan because Judge Stephanie Sautner ruled she has not violated probation.

The 24 year-old was tested for and failed an alcohol test late last week after a rooftop party at her house, however TMZ is reporting the judge who ordered the substance testing, Judge Elden Fox, only approved them from January 3rd to February 25th.

Her June test was outside the time limit and cannot be used against her in this instance.

Lohan, her lawyer Shawn Holley, prosecutors and the judge were behind closed doors for most of the meeting but when they returned to open court, Judge Sautner had a stern warning for the actress and criticized her “extremely poor judgement.”

The Judge did note that her neighbors had written to her, reporting the party and amount of friends Lohan has had at her home and she was given new restrictions on how many people could be with her while under confinement.

Only one friend at a time can be at her house (besides family members) at any given time – no more rooftop (or any other) parties.

Her house arrest is expected to end on or around June 29th and the probation department cannot test her for any drug or alcohol substance while finishing her sentence.

Lindsay Lohan Headed Back To Court For Failing Alcohol Test

Lindsay Lohan‘s getting out of her house today, but probably not the way she had hoped.

The 24 year-old is currently under house arrest in conjunction with her plea deal for shoplifting a necklace from Kamofie & Co. jewelers earlier this year and part of her agreement was to undergo random drug and alcohol testing.

The Los Angeles county prosecutors say Lohan will appear in court today for a judge to determine if the actress has violated her parole.

TMZ is reporting Lohan failed an alcohol test administered shortly after the actress was seen celebrating with friends on the rooftop of her building. The website also has information that Judge Stephanie Saunter will be asked to place the actress in the L.A. County jail and take her off house arrest.

Lindsay had an interview scheduled to tape yesterday with Matt Lauer however Lauer left after Lohan did not want to do a lengthy interview for both The Today Show and Dateline.

Lauer told the audience that “Lindsay and her people had a problem with the timing of the interview and it was canceled” and he flew back from her Venice Beach apartment last night.

Lohan has had at least three probation violations in the past year, including one last August where she failed a drug test. Because she is a non-violent offender, she has been eligible for house arrest at 20% of her sentencing, however a judge will likely review all her parole problems and could change her house arrest into jail time.

Ex-Dior Designer, John Galliano On Trial In France For Slur, Blames Addiction

John Galliano attends court in Paris today to face accusations of hurling anti-Semitic slurs at customers of the La Perle cafe. The former head designer of Dior faces charges of public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity in France.

The disgraced designer’s lawyer, Aurelian Hamelle, told the court Galliano lost control because of substance abuse and “acted in a manner that was not his normal demeanour because he was ill.”

Geraldine Bloch, a 35 year-old art curator for the Arab World Institute, claims to have been subjected to the tirade that lasted about 45 minutes at the Parisian cafe in February.

In today’s trial, two other separate incidents: one in October of 2010 and the infamous cell phone video of Galliano saying “I love Hitler” to the two women recording him, are thought will be brought in as evidence against the designer.

Galliano denies saying the things Bloch has accused him of and says he was the target of their (Bloch’s companion Philippe Virgitti) hatred. The designer, who’s counter-suing for defamation said the pair unleashed their

“verbal harassment and an unprovoked assault when an individual tried to hit me with a chair having taken violent exception to my look and my clothing.”

Galliano has an uphill battle – explaining away that video as a result of his alcohol abuse and then attempting to prove Bloch and Virgitti were the harassers.
