All is not rosy for Rosie O’Donnell and her partner Kelli Carpenter. Today, Rosie told USA Today that the two are having “issues.”  When she was asked if they had split up, she said:

“We’re a family. We will remain a family forever. And we are working on our issues.”

Speaking of the couple’s four children, Rosie got tears in her eyes:

“They’re adorable and wonderful and they are by far a priority. Kelli and I love each other very much and we are working on our issues. Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties… But everything’s fine and everybody’s good and we’re still both raising them together. We will both continue to parent them and we’re friendly and everything’s all right.”

I can understand her trying to not air all their dirty laundry, but honestly, that sounds like they’ve split up or they are about to split up.   Hopefully for the kids’ sake they’ll either be able to pull it together and make it work, or at the very least keep their breakup civil.

I don’t know. This sounds like a bad idea. It’s already been said that Madonna regrets leaving her now ex-husband Guy Ritchie, but are they really getting back together?  Word is that now that they have spent time apart, the two are both having second thoughts on their relationship.

“The pair of them have huge egos so, rather than speaking directly to one another, they are using friends to relay information,” a source told The People. “The truth is both Guy and Madonna are becoming more and more open in their admissions that in many ways they regret getting divorced.

“It’s one of those rare situations where couples start to get on better once their marriage is over.

“Both of them are brilliant with the kids and have fond memories of their family life together.

“It’s almost as though they have forgotten about all the rows they had as their marriage headed for the rocks.”

Two giant egos in the same house never works. It’s hard enough when there is one person who thinks they are the reason the sun rises, but two of them? And why is it that people forget the fights and other reasons they broke up to begin with? Not that you want to dwell on the bad, but wouldn’t you remember that?

After the reports that Canadian pop princess Avril Lavigne and Sum41 singer Deryck Whibley had split Avril has come out and announced… that it’s true!

“Deryck and I have been together for six and a half years,” she wrote. “We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. Kelly Rutherford will be seen on Rachael Ray today (Sept 18th) and you will get to hear hear discussing her messy divorce and what a d-bag her ex, Daniel Giersch is.

Kelly is  a very busy mom with a big career and she is balancing it will potty training her son, Hermes who is 2 and then nursing her baby girl, Helena who is only 3 months old.

Rachael asked Kelly, 40, if she had really thrown a laptop at Daniel during one of those arguments - and Kelly denied it. “I wish I had,” she said. Daniel had also claimed that Kelly hid information about her second pregnancy, including her due date, which Kelly contradicted. “He knew the date that I was due. He had wanted to come into the room while I was giving birth in the middle of our divorce. I just don’t think that’s really appropriate,” she told Rachael. In spite of the stressful back-and-forth, Kelly’s focus is on her children. “You’re trying to keep it together for your kids.”

Daniel is such a jerk.  I really wish he would back off. Kelly is a strong woman who deserves a world of respect for loving those kids and taking care of them, putting then at the top of her priority list.

Singer/actress LeAnn Rimes has come out and stated that she and her husband, Dean Sheremet, are divorcing. She took to her website to announce that the marriage of over seven years was over, but hopefully it wasn’t really LeAnn that wrote the message, her husband’s name is misspelled!

“After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane [sic] and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage,”

“This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another. Thank you so much for all of your continued love and support—it is deeply appreciated.”

There have been people close to the couple who have already come out and said that the twosome have been apart for some time, already.

This separation, may or may not have something to do with the rumored affair Rimes and her co-star Eddie Cibrian have been having. Cibrian also filed for divorce from his wife on August 25, before heading to Mexico with Rimes.

In the back and forth that is the marriage of Robin Wright Penn and husband, Sean Penn, there is a new chapter.  On August 12, Robin Wright Penn filed for divorce, again.

In 2007 the couple had filed for divorce, only to reconcile asking the courts to dismiss their divorce petition in April 2008.  A year later, Sean filed for separation and joint custody of their two children only to ask for another dismissal in May 2009.

If a recent interview Robin did with MORE Magazine is any indicator, this latest divorce filing may be for good.

“I hit that crossroad a while ago. For Robin, the ‘I know what I don’t want’ was flashing neon lights,” she told MORE magazine. “I have no regrets. I, we, have two amazing children we raised together.”

Knowing these two, though, they’ll be back together before Christmas.

After 31 long hours of labor, singer Kelis has given birth to a baby boy!  Kelis had her sister and mother by her side when she welcomed her first child, Knight Jones, at 9 P.M. on Wednesday.  Her rep said

“The beautiful baby boy and his mother are doing wonderful,”

So, where was her estranged soon to be ex-husband Nas? Word is that he tried to get in to see Kelis before baby Knight was born but he was so intoxicated the hospital wouldn’t let him in.

In case you didn’t hear, Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil are officially over now.  They were granted a “quickie divorce…on the grounds of Amy’s adultery.”  But finally being done with Wino is not enough for Blakey.  He’s asking for a £6 million ($9.8 million US) - approximately 2/3 of Amy’s estimated worth - in their divorce.

Blake apparently feels entitled to her money because his infidelity (before they were married) inspired Amy’s album, Back to Black.

“Blake’s family don’t want him to ask for money but he hasn’t given up on a hefty payday.   He thinks he was a big part of her success with Back To Black and deserves money for what he put up with.”

A friend of hers called Blake’s request “absolutely ridiculous.”

“Amy did write Back To Black when Blake left her, but why on earth should he be getting a dime for making her feel so bad?  She was at her lowest ebb when she wrote that album. Her boyfriend had left her for another woman and she poured her heart and soul into the writing process.

“It’s like saying that the man who writes a book about his murdered wife should give the murderer some of the profits.”

Interesting logic there.   I think I’ll make sure the rest of my kids’ childhoods are just heinous, so I can sue them for part of the proceeds when they write their memoirs!  And all my exes?  Get to it, folks!  I just discovered my new gravy train!

Though the only major scheduled change for the future of Jon & Kate Plus 8 is that the parents will be divorcing, turns out that the kids may not be able to be a part of the show at all. So what will be left? The Jon & Kate Minus 8 show?

“[The question for the court could be whether it's] in the best interest of these children to have their lives on TV as children of divorce — is that way too much emotional baggage for any minor to have in their lives as children of divorced parents on TV?” attorney Mary Cushing Doherty asked USA Today.  “I think so.”

In addition, Doherty said even if Jon and Kate were to reach a private custody agreement, there’s still a chance their kids — 8-year-old twins and 5-year-old sextuplets — would be legally disallowed from appearing on the show. “The long arm of the law will reach in and say, ‘I think these kids need a child advocate because people have not been looking out for their best interests,’” Doherty told USA Today.

THANK GOODNESS!!! It’s about time someone stepped in and took action. I know that they think that doing the show is best for the kids so that they can have their big house and thousands of dollars in clothes and toys, but it’s so unnecessary.  My child- and 99% of kids in America- don’t have that, but they are still blissfully happy. And they don’t have cameras chasing them around all the time.

I hope this goes through. I hope those kids never have to be on tv ever again. And I hope Jon & Kate go back to their previous jobs and are able to lead real lives. Maybe they could even stand to be in the same room together one day?

Now that their divorce is public, so are the details of the Jon & Kate Gosselin split. According to the paperwork, Kate cited that the couple have lived “separate and apart for at least two years.”

According to legal experts this does not mean Jon and Kate have been separated for two years. What it does mean is that once they have been separated two years, Kate would be granted a no-fault divorce – even if Jon doesn’t want one.

Whether they actually have lived separate lives for two years is up for debate- it might all be to speed up the divorce proceedings. Or, the renewal of vows, the new house, the pretty family picture- they were all lies. I feel used.

Now the show will take a hiatus for the summer since TLC doesn’t have enough footage to use. Fabulous.

By now everyone knows that Jon and Kate Gosselin have filed for divorce. Now the network says that their show- Jon & Kate Plus 8- will be on a hiatus until August 3. Next Monday’s episode will be a compilation of un-aired footage from the season.

Though the network doubled the number of episodes this season from 20 to 40, only six have aired. Because of the marriage problems, TLC doesn’t have enough footage to complete any more episodes. Many this season were filmed last minute and finished on the day of airing.

In statements regarding the divorce, here’s that they had to say:

“Over the course of this weekend, Jon’s activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children,” Kate said in a statement Monday night. “While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children.”

Jon released a statement of his own, claiming his wife was the first to make a legal move. “This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn’t change that.”

Right, Jon. Good daddies always go cheat on their families with 23 year old hussies. Way to go.

We all wanted to know the lurid details about Mel Gibson’s divorce, especially the financial side of things… come on, don’t pretend you didn’t!   Unfortunately, unless there’s a document leak, we’re just going to have to speculate on just what happened with Mel’s estimated $900M in assets.

Los Angeles Superior Judge Frederick Shaller has granted Robyn Moore-Gibson a protective order keeping the divorce details final, including

expert witness reports, tax returns and financial records, as well as videotaped depositions and other family-related material… [it] also prevents the Gibsons from discussing the case publicly.

Despite this gag order, we can assume that under California’s community property laws - not to mention the fact that Robyn and Mel’s youngest child is still a minor - Mel is pretty well screwed.   Fittingly, in my opinion.

In another scary example of how looks can be deceiving, British celebrity couple Katie “Jordin” Price and Peter Andre have broken up.
