A gorgeous holiday vacation in the Maldives was the backdrop for John Legend‘s marriage proposal to Chrissy Teigen.

The singer and the model escaped to the island nation in the Indian Ocean for some time away and they returned as an engaged couple.

A rep for the couple confirmed the engagement but no other details have been released at this time. Legend and Teigen have been dating for 4 years.

Legend, 33, has won nine Grammy Awards over the years and is active in many charitable causes including his Show Me Campaign which fights poverty in the US and Africa.

Teigen, 26, made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue modelling debut last year and has a food blog So Delushious! (I happen to enjoy her blog,)

Legend will be in Las Vegas this weekend to perform at The Pearl at the Palms for New Year’s Eve.

It was definetly a happy holiday for Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves who became engaged this Christmas.

McConaughey posted a photo of the couple sharing a Christmas kiss to his WhoSay account and spread the news:

“just asked camila to marry me, merry Christmas,” the actor posted with the pic.

Alves, 29, who is a Brazilian model and hosted one season of Bravo‘s Sheer Genius, is the mother of the couple’s two children: Levi and Vida.

The 42 year-old Lincoln Lawyer star spoke to Esquire magazine about Camila and marriage earlier this year.

“I found the woman… I wanna make a family with, hopefully live our life out together,” McConaughey said.

McConaughey will be in the 2012 Steven Soderbergh film Magic Mike with Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Joe Manganiello. The story is based on Tatum’s life as a young man in Florida, before he made it in Hollywood, working as a male stripper.

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have gotten engaged.

Trawick, who was Britney’s manager until earlier this year, has been dating the pop star since 2009 and reportedly popped the question to Spears last night.

“This is something they’ve both wanted for a long time,” a source told US Weekly. “It’s a way to cement their family. They’re both extremely happy and can’t wait to become man and wife.”

Britney hinted at a receiving very special, very early present:

“OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo” she tweeted.

Trawick has been instrumental in helping Spears career after her very public struggles in 2007 and 2008. He has been a part of her management team since Spears’ father, Jamie Spears began making financial and career decisions for her through a legal conservatorship.

TMZ reports the couple will celebrate their engagement in Las Vegas’ Paris Hotel at the Chocolate Lounge inside the Sugar Factory with a huge group of friends. They will then move on to the Chateau Nightclub to round out their night.

Anne Hathaway has a wedding in her future.

The Love and Other Drugs actress is engaged to her boyfriend of three years, Adam Shulman.

Hathaway, 29, and Shulman, 30, sparked rumors of an engagement when the actress was spotted wearing what looked like an engagement ring over the weekend.

The ring design is a collaboration between Shulman and Kwiat Heritage Jewels according to a report by the LA Times.

Hathaway’s previous relationship to Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri came to an end when he was exposed for defrauding investors and he eventually plead guilty in October 2008.

It left the actress with a desire to be single but she said that Shulman came along and ‘ruined’ her plan.

“Yes, I have a boyfriend,” Hathaway told UK Harper’s Bazaar. “And yes, I am very much in love with him. But you do need to keep your private life private. Adam totally ruined my plan. I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time and then I fell in love like a fool!”

Hathaway will be Catwoman in the 2012 release The Dark Knight Rises and will join Hugh Jackman to film Les Miserables.

Stanley Tucci has found love again – this time with his colleague’s sister.

The 50 year-old actor, who lost his first wife, Kate, in April of 2009 to cancer, is now engaged to Felicity Blunt, actress Emily Blunt‘s sister.

Tucci costarred with Emily in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada and she recently set up her sister, a London literary agent, with Stanley.

Emily and Stanley became friends on set and when he was ready, she played matchmaker for him with her sister. The two hit it off and a wedding is in their future. No word on when or where the nuptials will take place but Tucci has spent a lot of time in England with Felcity, according to reports.

Tucci has three children from his time with Kate – twins Isabel and Nicolo, 11, and Camilla, 9.

Ashley Biden, daughter of Vice President Joe Biden, is engaged to be married.   She and Dr. Howard Krein have been dating for just over a year.

Ashley, 30, is Vice President Biden’s youngest, and his only child with his second wife, Dr. Jill Biden.    She is a social worker, and Dr. Krein is a plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist.

The Vice President’s office issued a statement saying “their entire family is thrilled.”   Congratulations!

Karina Smirnoff attended Joico’s Beauty for a Cure celebrity charity event for breast cancer in Beverly Hills at the Gavert Atelier salon on Friday, October 14th.

Smirnoff sipped Voli Light cocktails that included a “Pink Karina” drink and there was a refreshments, candy and alcohol bar for attendees to partake in.

The Dancing With The Stars pro, who is paired with top contender J. R. Martinez this season, was scheduled to get married to Detroit Tigers baseball player Brad Penny in January but that is now on hold.

According to an insider, there is no trouble between the two, just very busy schedules.

Smirnoff and Penny, both 33, are said to be considering alternate event days and trying to spend more time together while they choose a new wedding date.

Miley Cyrus could be a bridesmaid very soon.

Her older brother, Trace Cyrus has announced he is engaged to his girlfriend, actress Brenda Song.

“I am very excited to say, last week I asked my girlfriend Brenda Song to marry me and she said YES! We are both very excited to be engaged!” Trace tweeted.

Trace, 22, and Brenda, 23, have been dating for over a year and in August it was rumored that Song was pregnant with his child. Neither celeb or their reps ever confirmed or denied the reports.

Song starred in the Disney TV show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and was seen in The Social Network last fall.

Trace and his father, Billy Ray Cyrus will host a show on the Syfy network UFO: Unbelievably Freakin’ Obvious - a program where the two will investigate (and possibly debunk) conspiracy theories.

Elizabeth Hurley and Shane Warne have gotten engaged, according to a report.

Warne, a 42 year-old Australian cricket player, had only been dating Hurley for about 10 months before deciding that it was the right time to propose yesterday.

Warne is said to have popped the question at the Old Course Hotel’s Road Hole Restaurant in Scotland in front of the VIP crowd.

The 45 year-old actress and model stepped out on Saturday afternoon with Warne and her son, Damien, wearing a large sapphire and diamond ring that is presumed to be her engagement bling.

Neither Hurley nor Warne’s reps have confirmed the engagement however both celebs have tweeted their gratitude.

“Thanks for all your congratulations. Here’s a pic of us about to go to Dunhill dinner in St Andrews.”

Hurley and her former husband, Arun Nayar, were divorced in June of this year. Warne was divorced from his wife of 10 years in 2006.

Hurley is currently starring in a multi-episode arc of Gossip Girl‘s fifth season.

R & B singer Ne-Yo and his girlfriend Monyetta Shaw are engaged to be married but that’s not the only good news the couple has to share – they are expecting their second child next month!

Shaw, a boutique owner in Atlanta, Georgia and the 31 year-old singer (real name Shaffer Chimere Smith) have a 10 month-old daughter, Madilyn Grace, who will get to be a big sister very soon.

A friend of the couple has said the baby is due in October.

The couple kept the pregnancy under wraps until now and a rep has confirmed both the baby and the engagement to US Weekly.
