Christina Hendricks looked incredible at the 2011 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City on Monday, May 2nd.

The 2011 Met Gala, as it’s more commonly known, featured an exhibit, the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty retrospective, which honored the late designer’s body of work.

The Mad Men star chose an ombre striped strapless dress from Carolina Herrera in shades of copper that set off her red hair magnificently. The shimmering organza train and off-the-shoulder sleeves completed the autumn fairytale-like feel of the gown.

Jon Cryer poked fun at his employment situation on The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently but now the actor has signed up for a real temp job this time.

Cryer is joining the cast of the New York Philharmonic’s production of the Stephen Sondheim/George Furth musical Company.

The Two and A Half Men actor is joining an amazing cast including Christina Hendricks, Neil Patrick Harris, Martha Plimpton, Steven Colbert, Anika Noni Rose and Patty Lupone.

The plot is five couples in various stages of marriage (engaged, divorced, happily) and their lives, seen in vignettes through the eyes of their friend, a perennial bachelor.

The production will take place April 7th – April 9th at Avery Fisher Hall in NYC.

Christina Hendricks is lending her beautiful face and body to Vivienne Westwood for the launch of the designers jewelry line.

Of being chosen by the designer for the “Get A Life” line of Palladium accessories, the Mad Men star said:

“Vivienne Westwood has always been one of my favourite designers, so it was a great honour for me to be asked to represent the “Get a Life” Palladium Jewellery Collection.

“I admire that Vivienne uses her designs to inspire change and the pieces are just so wonderful.

“I love that there are dramatic pieces such as the tiara and the heart necklace as well as more simple pieces such as the acorn earrings. As Palladium is a naturally white metal, the pieces really sparkle under the lights and I cannot wait to wear them on the red carpet.”

The 35 year-old actress looks like a dreamy Renaissance Queen in one photo, wearing a gold leaf headband/crown and standing against her mirrored image.

The 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday January 30th with Christina Hendricks hitting the red carpet for the 2011 SAG ceremony.

Hendricks mixed it up with a robe tie front L’Wren Scott number with black sash. I give the Mad Men actress credit for trying something different even if it wasn’t the most flattering choice she could make. Her hairstyle and make up choices also aged her look.

Christina Hendricks is known for her lovely, curvy figure and eye-popping cleavage – she gave us plenty of that last weekend.   So what are the stats behind all that zaftig?  The New York Daily News reports that Christina’s measurements are 39D-30-39.   Beautifully proportioned!  But only 39D?  That Zac Posen she wore for the Emmys sure did emphasize her assets, then.  That said,  Christina is gorgeous and I hope she never feels any pressure to change.

Christina Hendricks is apparently a classic 1950s kind of girl in real life as well as on her show Mad Men.   She admitted she loves a guy who drinks an old-fashioned, manly drink.  She said:

“My husband loves scotch. And I love it when he orders it. It’s such a classic, masculine drink.”

Of course, this was a very wise thing for her to say as she and hubby Geoffrey Arend hosted a party for Johnnie Walker Black, right?   However, I have got to agree that there’s something super classy and solid about a scotch drinker.  Sexy!
