Katt Williams In Nightclub Brawl Just Hours After Leaving Jail For Child Endangerment

Katt Williams

Katt Williams is single handedly keeping defense attorneys in business.  I have lost track of how many times he’s been arrested lately, but he’s gone and done it again.  He was arrested at home on Friday on suspicion of child endangerment.   TMZ reports that L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services found there were “numerous guns and illegal drugs in the house that created a safety hazard for the kids.”

(That would be his eight children, one biological and seven adopted.  They were reportedly put in protective custody while Dad went to jail.)

However, E! reports that it was one particular gun, that was loaded – and stolen – that led to Williams’ arrest.  Whoops.

Katt was bailed out, only to get involved in a brawl outside a Hollywood club that evening.  He and his buddy Suge Knight – with whom he was detained by police just a week earlier – got into it with a bunch of guys swinging punches outside Eden Nightclub.  You have to wonder whether dude goes looking for trouble, or why it so easily finds him.

Happy Hanukkah From Backseat Cuddler

Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, begins tonight (December 8th) at sunset.   This holiday marks the Jews’ rededication of the Temple of Jerusalem after their scrappy little army, though outnumbered, took back Judea from the Syrians.   They wanted to re-light the eternal temple lamp, but there was only enough oil for one day.  Miraculously, the oil lasted eight days, until a new supply arrived.

Jewish or not, all of us can enjoy Adam Sandler‘s hilarious “Hanukkah Song.”  Chag Sameach, friends.

Arrested In Seattle – Comedian Katt Williams Lands In Jail

Katt Williams‘ aggressive behavior landed him in the pokey on Sunday.   The comedian, who was in town performing, got into an argument with a couple in a Seattle bar that escalated into what sounds like a scene from Cops.    Here’s what went down in the bizarre scene.

Williams was playing pool at the World Sports Grille when he and a couple got into a verbal altercation.  Things got out of hand, and the bar manager stepped in to separate them.  Williams brandished his pool cue in the manager’s face.  He then followed a family outside to their car, flicked a cigarette into the face of one of the family members, and threw a rock at the vehicle.

When police arrived, according to CNN, Williams became even more agitated.  He made a fuss, refused to show ID (although later officers found his passport on him), threatened the officer’s job and ended up “on the ground” at one point.

Williams was booked at King County Jail and released early Monday.

The Seattle incident is just the most recent in a string of strange behaviors by the comedian.   In October, he was questioned for allegedly pulling a gun on actor Faizon Love.  Last month he was arrested for alleged battery in Oakland; two days later, he melted down during a performance there.  In the span of 10 minutes he “confronted a heckler, took his clothes off and attempted to fight at least three audience members.”  Several days later, he led Sacramento cops on a chase through town after he was seen driving a three wheeled motorcycle on the sidewalk and refused to pull over.

The next stop on his current tour takes him to Houston and then New Orleans.  He’s sure to make some news there.

Photo Of The Day: Seth MacFarlane Honored At Variety’s Power Of Comedy Awards

Seth MacFarlane

If anyone possesses the power of comedy, it’s funny guy Seth MacFarlane, who was honored for his prowess at Variety’s 3rd Annual Power Of Comedy Awards.  Ted, the naughtiest Teddy bear, ever was his red carpet date.  The show is the signature event of the  Noreen Fraser Foundation, an organization that funds women’s cancer research and awareness, with an emphasis on early detection.  The evening’s line-up included Seth Green, Alex Borstein, Bill Maher and Seth’s own sister, Rachael MacFarlane.  Cancer has touched the MacFarlane family perhaps too closely; the siblings lost their mother, Ann, to the disease in 2010.

Celebrity Breast Cancer Survivor: Wanda Sykes

Wanda Sykes

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re honoring the cause with stories of celebrities who have fought the disease and beaten it.  This week’s featured celebrity breast cancer survivor is Wanda Sykes.

Funny lady Wanda Sykes was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 following a breast reduction surgery.   Although her specific form of breast cancer was non-invasive, Sykes opted for a double mastectomy.  Her recovery took a month, during which time she said:

“I was miserable. Every day I had to change the bandages and look at it, and it was not pretty at all.  I just wanted my life back.”

But life was, after all, what Sykes was trying to preserve in the first place. “I made my decision because I love life,”  she told People last year.  She also said her children, twins Olivia and Lucas, were “a huge part of my decision…I wanted to be around for them.”

How’s it going now?  Sykes said, “I feel whole again, I really do.”   She’s been on tour for much of 2012, with a show that touches on politics and life with kids and her wife Alex.   She’s also working on a political comedy special with Logo.   Keep it up, Wanda!

Melissa McCarthy Is Entertainment Weekly’s Queen Of Comedy

Melissa McCarthy

Comedienne Melissa McCarthy scored the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s Comedy Issue.  The magazine’s “New Queen Of Comedy” channels a familiar British monarch in her cover photo.  While we’re pretty sure Queen Elizabeth has probably never flashed a peace sign, we are certain of one thing: McCarthy is one funny lady.

In her interview with EW, she reveals her comedy inspirations – Gilda Radner, Jane Curtin and Carol Burnett – and admits that she went through a pretty intense goth phase in high school.   McCarthy also shares how her recent turn in the spotlight has got her making some adjustments to her body image.

“Do I sometimes hope I wake up in the morning and people are like, ‘What’s wrong with her? She looks emaciated.’ Of course I would love that. I’m such a clothes whore I would love the opportunity to be a hanger. But I think I’m more confident than I’ve ever felt in my life.”

Melissa McCarthy Gives It Straight To GQ

Melissa McCarthy

TV fans know Melissa McCarthy from shows like Gilmore Girls and Mike and Molly.  But those who have seen her in Bridesmaids also know just how far off the chain Melissa can go.  GQ chatted with Melissa and a few of her Bridesmaids cast and crew mates to learn more about this funny, funny lady.

Melissa on playing the character of Megan:

I read the script and had such a weird, fast reaction to Megan. I knew exactly what I wanted her to look like, to sound like, and I got an intense feeling of “I like her so much! This will never work out!” For the audition, I wore no makeup and a bad pant. Once I look like the character, it really locks me in, even if people sometimes say, “We need you not to be repulsive.”

Maya Rudolph on working with Melissa:

Honestly, I’ve always felt that Melissa is hands down one of the most incredible performers I’ve ever worked with. I’ve heard people over the years say, “I really like her on ‘Gilmore Girls.’ ” In the back of my mind, I was always saying, “Just you wait.” When we were making Bridesmaids, I secretly delighted in knowing that vintage McCarthy was about to be unleashed upon the world, and I was excited to tell the world, “Hold on to your a**.”

Director Paul Feig:

Let any debate about “women aren’t funny” be put to rest. I would do anything with her, and she’s got such range that she kind of can do anything. The worst thing you could do, if you had a Melissa McCarthy in your employ, would be, “Can you just stick to the script?” But that happens a lot. Why the f*** would you ever do that?

Sarah Silverman Is Totally Adorable!

Funny lady Sarah Silverman looked totally fab at the Night Of Too Many Stars:  An Overbooked Concert For Autism Education last weekend.  Her dress is great and I especially love her hairstyle.  Who knew side ponytails could be totally dressy for evening?  She is too freaking cute!  No wonder she was one of People‘s Most Beautiful in 2008.

Andy Dick Puts The ‘Dick’ In ‘Addict’ Yet Again

Andy Dick Attends The Opening Of 'The Producers'

Ain’t no stopping Andy Dick from getting wasted and acting stupid.  He was kicked out of the South Coast Winery Resort & Spa in Temecula, CA this weekend for being too drunk.

The manager said he “showed signs of intoxication” and apparently didn’t leave fast enough when asked, because security had to escort him off the property.

Very classy, Andy.  At least he didn’t get himself arrested this time.

Sarah Silverman Covers Page Six Magazine

Sarah Silverman Covers Page Six Magazine

Funny lady Sarah Silverman is all cute and coy on the cover of Page Six Magazine (February 11, 2010).    And why not?  She’s in love!  She dishes about her new man, being single, and smoking weed (doctor’s orders!).

On being famous and dating:

“This was the weirdest time being single.  I’ve always had long relationships, so I’ve never been single when people on the street know who I am. And it made it so…it felt a little isolating. Part of the fun of meeting someone is having them discover you. You’re doing your little tap dance, like, ‘This is me!’ And then [the person has] all these preconceived notions, things that are partially true and partially not.”

On her new guy, Alec Sulkin:

“The guy I’m dating now, who is so awesome, is not my typical fare. He’s really skinny. Usually I like pudgy, macho-ish guys. But I think I mistook macho-ish for strong, emotionally. And I think it’s really the opposite. I’m with this guy who’s so unafraid to…I think he’s the first guy in a decade who’s given me any kind of compliment, like, saying I’m pretty or anything. He’s a writer, and maybe he’s, like, a year younger than me. He’s f–king cute as a button. It’s been a whirlwind. We had our week-versary last Wednesday, and we made videos on our laptops—recaps of the week—and sent them to each other. It was really cute. It’s nice. I love love. I love being loving.”

On being a self-professed pothead:

“I went to the doctor and was honest. I said, ‘When I’m working and I have to get to sleep for the next day, I’d rather smoke a little bit of Indica than take a sleeping pill. Also when I have menstrual cramps, that makes it go away.’ And also,” she says, pausing for effect, “I just like it. I would never say, ‘I’m gonna smoke pot and write.’ I’m dumb on pot. That’s why I like it as a treat. I don’t drink, so at a party I’ll take a puff. I’m a stoner, but I’m a lightweight.”

On being 39 in Hollywood:

“I don’t feel old, but when I tell people I’m 39, it’s almost like I’m telling them I’ve survived cancer. They grab my hand and go, ‘Really? God, that is amazing.’”
