Kylie Minogue Is Vegas Bound

kylie-minogue

The stunning songstress, Kylie Minogue‘s North American Tour is going so well, there’s buzz that she may be Las Vegas bound! Kylie’s sister, Dannii Minogue spilled the beans and said that Kylie has been offered a gig to perform long term in Las Vegas.

“The response from her shows in America have been phenomenal,” said Kylie’s sister Dannii. “They love her out there. She was nervous about going over for the first time, but it has gone better than she expected.

“She has now been asked to take the show back to Vegas and extend it as a residency over there. I’m so proud of her.”

Judging by the costumes, I think that Kylie’s newest production would fit right in.

Working Las Vegas has been a good thing for Celine Dion, Bette Midler and Cher, so why not Kylie?

Kylie Minogue is kicking off her first ever North American tour with two shows in my hometown of Oakland, CA!    Kylie always makes her stagewear interesting, and she does not disappoint with this tour.   Check out these costumes, which were designed by Jean Paul Gaultier!   I am kind of loving the space suit.

The video below takes you behind the scenes during Kylie’s rehearsals at the Fox Theater.  Enjoy!

Fergie Shows Off Her Humps

fergie-black-eyed-peas-nfl-kickoff

Wow.

Fergie chose a unique outfit for the Black Eyed Peas’ pre-game concert at the NFL season kickoff game.   How do you describe such a garment to your designer or stylist?  “Hey, I really think I should wear a halter top boned lace corset romper with drapey cut-outs on the hips?  Could you whip that up for me?”

(And her shoes and accessories scare me.)

The show kicked ass though, and included their hit “Boom Boom Pow.”  Peep some videos here.

Mariah Carey – Disney Princess?

mariah-carey-at-the-palms-las-vegas

If there is one thing to be said about Mariah Carey, it’s that she never ceases to amaze.  Check her out at her show at Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas.  This must be the Disney Princess portion of the concert.  Or the part where she lives out her fantasy of turning into a big fluffy bird. Or the part where her left nipple completely pops right out of her way too small bodice.

Is she living her version of Benjamin Button?  She just seems to get more and more infantile as time goes on.

Once Chris Isaak finishes touring the US in early September, he won’t have time to hit the beaches here in the States. It was just announced that Chris Isaak will be taking his tour back to Australia. He had already been there earlier this year in March.

Chris has enjoyed a tremendous relationship with Australia over the years. The response to his shows in March was overwhelming – so much so that he’s found time in his US schedule to return, albeit for just these few very special shows,” said promoter Andrew McManus.

Isaak won’t only be returning to make money for himself and his bad, but to raise money for Challenge -Supporting Kids with Cancer.

Each show will feature a special VIP ticket with seats in the first three rows, a signed tour pass and a meet and greet with Chris. All proceeds from these tickets will go to Challenge.

The new leg of the tour will bring him to Perth, September 16, Melbourne, September 19, and Sydney
September 22.

Depeche Mode Singer Hospitalized

david-gahan-depeche-mode-02-festival

Depeche Mode lead singer David Gahan has been hospitalized in Athens.  The singer became ill in his dressing room before a show, which was subsequently canceled.

The band has just launched their Tour of the Universe, which promotes their new album Sounds of the Universe.    DM will always be one of my favorite bands, and I’ll always have a little crush on Dave, but in my humble opinion, the first single off the album stinks.  It is called “Wrong” and it is seriously wrong.  I know it’s hard for bands to keep doing the same great stuff for years and years, but maybe – just MAYBE – there’s a time to just pack it in and go out on a high note.  Hmmm?

Anyway – get better soon, David!!  Your fans in Turkey and Eastern Europe are waiting for you!

Kenny Chesney Wins Entertainer of the Year for Fourth Time in Row

Country music award season voters apparently didn’t get the memo that now’s the time for change as there was no difference when it came to the king’s chair last night for the 42nd annual Country Music Assn. Awards in Nashville. Kenny Chesney took home the top award for entertainer of the year for the fourth consecutive year.

Continuing their reigns as top male and top female performer of the year were Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, while the iconic George Strait won album of the year for his impressive Troubadour.

There were touching moments, like Carrie Underwood singing the tragic war ballad “Just a Dream” after saying “Mom it’s real hard to sing when you’re in the second row crying” from the podium.

Newcomer, trio Lady Antebellum took a trophy home for best new artist, while Sugarland was recognized as the vocal duo of the year.

Youngins Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler both performed, which unquestionably assure that whether you’re a fan of country music or not, this is a genre that’s climbing in sales.
