Melissa Rycroft Hospitalized Following ‘Dancing With The Stars’ On-Set Head Injury

Melissa Rycroft

Dancing With The Stars: All Stars contestant Melissa Rycroft was taken to the hospital on Sunday after sustaining a head and neck injury while rehearsing for Monday’s live show.   Her rep explained in a statement:

“Melissa was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she is currently being examined.  She was accompanied to the hospital by her husband, Tye Strickland, and her dance partner, Tony Dovolani.  Everyone is taking all necessary precautions at this time.”

Rycroft was treated and later released.   There has been no word whether she will perform tonight.

This is not Rycroft’s first injury on Dancing With The Stars.  She suffered a fractured rib when she appeared on the show during Season 8, and was unable to perform for a week.  Her performance was judged on a taped rehearsal in that instance, and she and Dovolani went on to earn third place for that season.

Reggie Bush Is Going To Be A Baby Daddy

Reggie Bush

It’s soon to be booties and bottles for Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush.  He revealed today that he is expecting a child with his girlfriend, Lilit Avagyan.

He shared the news during a radio appearance, saying:

“We can’t wait.  It’s an opportunity to bring in a new life and raise a child. I think that’s the most special gift to a man and a woman. I look forward to it and to building a family.”

Awww, how sweet.  Now can I ask, WHO?!

I can also answer that question.  Avagyan is a professional dancer, choreographer and dance teacher.  She’s appeared on Dancing With The Stars and was the 2008 U.S. Ballroom Dancing champion.  As you can see, she bears an amazing resemblance to Bush’s ex, Kim Kardashian – generous backside and all.

There’s a reason for their resemblance:  Kardashian and Avagyan share Armenian heritage.  You’ve got to admit, though, it is striking how much they look alike.   She looks more like Kim than her own sisters.  I guess he has a type!

Congratulations to the expectant parents!

Pamela Anderson Is The First To Go On ‘Dancing With The Stars All-Stars’

Someone had to be the first to leave Dancing With The Stars All-Stars season and it happened to be blonde bombshell Pamela Anderson who found herself packing it in Tuesday night.

The 45 year-old former Baywatch star and her pro partner Tristan MacManus ended up at the bottom of the scoreboard with a dismal 17 for their initial Cha Cha dance after Monday night’s premiere episode.

“It pains me to say it … but there wasn’t enough work there for me to really praise you,” judge Bruno Tovali told Anderson on Monday’s show.

Anderson tweeted her disappointment at being the first to leave:

“The fish out of water has left the building,” she said. “Sad, but I deserved it. I didn’t come through last night.”

Apologizing to MacManusshe told him, “Tristian, I love you- We have lots of fun stuff ahead!! Sorry.”

Bristol Palin and Drew Lachey joined Anderson as celebrities in jeopardy but they will live to dance another day.

Is Kate Gosselin Headed Back To Dancing With The Stars: All-Star Season?

The fall will bring a new season of Dancing With The Stars but unlike other casts, this time we’ve already seen their fancy footwork.

Season 15 is confirmed to be an DWTS All-Stars with returning contestants ready to rumba, cha-cha and tango across your screens but one former hopeful is not really all that welcome, according to behind-the-scenes sources.

Reality star Kate Gosselin is going to be asked, but held on the back burner because the source told HollywoodLife.com that she was reviled by many who worked on the show.

“They are going to ask Kate but hope they don’t have to use her as the cast and crew hated her,” the insider said. “She would be a last resort.”

This seems silly to me. There is no possible way DWTS could be hard up for returning talent that they would even consider asking her, even if it’s just to have extra people “on deck” just in case.

There are so many people who were contenders that will be happy to be back, this just sounds so untrue or a lame publicity stunt.

Would you want to see Kate dance again?

Donald Driver Is ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 14 Winner

In a season of very strong competition and amazing dancing, Dancing With The Stars crowned it’s season 14 champ last night.

Donald Driver takes the win over his two other very capable and incredibly talented contestants: William Levy and Katherine Jenkins.

The football star, who can now add a Mirror Ball trophy to his Super Bowl ring, received an almost perfect score of 89 for the last two night of the competition.

With his partner Peta Murgatroyd, the two danced a country-themed freestyle and a cha-cha that earned high marks from judge Len Goodman.

“We’ve had some great footballers on the show over the years,” said the judge, praising him. “My feeling is, you are the best we’ve had.”

Driver’s life has been inspirational. He was born in Houston where he and his mother and siblings were homeless throughout much of his childhood. He battled drugs but turned his life around and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1999. He went on to win Super Bowl XLV with the Packers.

Note to future competitors: athletes have won 50% of the trophies. If you are a celebrity trying to get in on the mirror ball win, you should get in shape now!

Melissa Gilbert Mending After DWTS Concussion

Rock Week on Dancing With The Stars was a little rough on some of the contestants.

Melissa Gilbert felt a little woozy after last night’s performance where she took a fall on the ballroom floor. The former Little House on the Prairie star was in the midst of her paso doble dance with her dance parter, Maksim Chmerkovskiy when she slipped and hit her head.

She and Maks stood by for the judging but were absent by the end of the show. Gilbert, who did complete the routine, was taken to the emergency room immediately after leaving the floor when she said she was feeling dizzy and nauseous backstage.

Host Tom Bergeron announced Gilbert’s absence at the final moments of the telecast when the cameras panned the contestants but Melissa and Maks were the only two not present.

The 47 year-old actress was told she had a mild concussion and whiplash from the performance mishap.

Gilbert, who was released from the hospital, told her twitter followers she was doing better:

“I’m alright. Mild concussion and whiplash. Very soon I will be safely home resting and being taken care of.”

It is thought that Gilbert will be well enough to return for tonight’s elimination show.

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Sends Home David Arquette

Dancing With The Stars continues to surprise this season with sending the better dancers home before some of the less-than-stellar performers.

Case in point was this week’s elimination of David Arquette.

The 40 year-old Scream actor was sent off after a pretty entertaining magician themed Halloween dance with pro partner Kym Johnson. Nancy Grace and Hope Solo, who both scored lower (and have done so most weeks of the competition) remain to twirl another week.

“Dancing With The Stars was an experience of a lifetime and it’s something everyone should challenge themselves with because you learn a lot about yourself,” the gracious Arquette said after learning he was the one to go home.

This season, besides Arquette getting the boot earlier than their dancing abilities (and scores) should have gotten them sent home were Kristin Cavallari and Chynna Phillips.

Makes me worried for Ricki Lake and J. R. Martinez.

So what do you think?

Was David the right choice to send packing?

Who do you predict will take the Mirrorball trophy this year?

‘DWTS’ Halloween Recap – Did Maks Play Nice With The Judges This Week?

After last week’s fiery encounter between pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy and judge Len Goodman, everyone was left wondering would a Halloween themed Dancing With The Stars be a trick or a treat?

It was a treat with last week’s “Mad Maks” now a subdued (and almost neutered) werewolf.

This week the celebs and their pro partners had two dances – their normal paired twirl around the floor and a team dance – to earn scores for.

Let’s get down to it…

Ricki Lake: She and partner Derek Hough did a great job as Little Red Riding Hood and the big Bad Wolf. Their paso doble to Beyonce‘s “Sweet Dreams” was fun and energetic. She scored the highest of the night with three 9s plus the team score of 26. 53

David Arquette: David and Kym Johnson were a magician and assistant cha cha cha-ing to the Steve Miller Band‘s “Abracadabra.” Judge Len Goodman remarks that  he “managed to turn yourself into a dancer,” but adding he still needed more rhythm. They scored 24 plus the 23 for the team dance. 47

J. R. Martinez: Martinez and Karina Smirnoff tango-ed to “Ghostbusters” but seemed to have a few missteps along the way. It was good but as the judges noted, something was just slightly off. They were given a 25. Adding it to the team dance score of 23, Martinez ended the night with a 48.

Nancy Grace: Nancy and Tristan McManus tried to jive to the Charlie Daniels Band “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” but it was the wrong song for Grace. It was too fast for her and she missed a number of steps. Bruno Tonioli liked her spirit, not her footwork. She received a 21 for her dance and the 23 for the group effort. 44

Rob Kardashian: With his sister’s divorce announcement leading the gossip yesterday, the Kardashian family was on hand to watch him, except Kim. That being said, he and Cheryl Burke managed a fun tango to “The Addams Family” theme. He ended with a 25 plus the team score of 26. 51

Hope Solo: Maks spent most of the week on the sidelines with a stubbed toe and Hope seemed very happy with her substitute partner but Maksim glowered at the two. Hope and Maks samba’d to Warren Zevon‘s “Werewolves of London” and earned a solid 24 with a 26 for the team dance. 50.

Team Tango: David, J. R. and Nancy – it was a so-so dance with lots of mistakes and never really jelled. 23.

Team Paso Doble: Ricki, Hope and Rob – the group was pretty good and they didn’t make nearly as many mistakes as the other. 26.

Who should go home tonight? Nancy has the lowest score although I am almost hoping Hope – not because she deserves it, but I feel more sorry for her putting up with Maks as time goes on.

Sound off below who you think should be next to leave the ballroom.

Carrie Ann Inaba Says Monday’s ‘DWTS’ Drama Is Her Fault For Wearing Red!

Dancing With The Stars erupted this week when pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy took judge Len Goodman to task for his criticism of his dance partner Hope Solo.

‘Mad Maks’ ripped Goodman for what her termed “disrespectful” as the judge told Solo and Chmerkovskiy their rumba was “the worst” he’s seen the pair do all season.

The drama continued on Tuesday when eliminated contestant Chaz Bono accused judge Bruno Tonioli of being offensive to him for comparing him to ” a basketball, a penguin, and an Ewok” and saying the show treats a man trying to lose weight differently than a woman.

The one judge who remained above the fray was Carrie Ann Inaba, but oddly enough she said she was the reason for the verbal drama.

“Okay, I’m going to tell you guys something funny,” the judge told Access Hollywood. “What happens is whenever I wear red something very strange happens.”

“I’m serious, if you actually go back and look through shows for some reason when I wear red it makes people upset or myself I get upset or…it’s strange.”

Inaba told the hosts she’s ending the drama because she won’t wear red again this season.

Check her funny answer below.
