Daniel Craig is has signed on to star in a new psychological thriller from director Jim Sheridon called Dream House.

In “Dream House,” Craig plays a man who moves his family to an quaint town, only to discover his house is haunted by former inhabitants who were murdered there.

It’s good to see Craig playing plenty of other roles to maintain his non-Bond career, but I’m ready for Bond 23. That will start shooting late next year after he finishes Dream House.

If you have ever wanted to see Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman with their shirts off at the same time, you missed your chance. After the Sunday (October 25) performance of their Broadway show “A Steady Rain” the duo auctioned off the shirts they had been wearing all night for charity.

Following the auction the lucky winners were brought backstage where Hugh and Daniel autographed the shirts.

The generous move by the Hollywood hunks raised $4,000 each for Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids.

There’s a remake underway of My Fair Lady and Keira Knightley is playing the lead.

Mandrake hears that the 24-year-old actress has beaten Scarlett Johansson to the part of Eliza Doolittle in a new film adaptation of My Fair Lady.

Her victory comes as I can disclose that Joe Wright, who inspired Knightley to her best performance, in Pride and Prejudice, has been chosen to direct the film.

“Joe and Keira are looking forward to working together again immensely,” says a friend of the 37-year-old director.

Remakes are inevitable, this movie has already been on stage and screen in different incarnations in the past. There’s also a rumor that Daniel Craig may end up playing Henry Higgins, the other lead. Could make for some entertaining stuff.

Daniel Craig spilled the beans on the next James Bond film, it will be shooting late next year. Here’s the video which catches him breaking the news. Skip forward one minute to see Daniel Craig.

CommanderBond.net alerted us to a video in which Daniel Craig says that James Bond 23 will start filming at the end of 2010. The star was asked about the next film as he exited the stage door for “A Steady Rain,” a Broadway play he is currently performing in with Hugh Jackman.

Peter Morgan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are writing the script for the 23rd film, which does not have a director attached yet.

Seems like it should be shooting this year but I guess I’m just impatient. I really like Craig as Bond, hopefully the next film is more like Casino Royale than Quantum of Solace. There are a couple rumored titles, one is Risico and the other is The Property of a Lady. Who knows what it will really be called.

The Future of MGM is shakey to say the least, what will become of the next James Bond film and The Hobbit?

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that MGM is needing $20M in short-term cash flow to cover overhead, and an additional $150 million to get through the end of year to stay out of bankruptcy and possibly losing such franchisefilms as The Hobbit (and its sequel) and James Bond 23. Here’s an excerpt from the article:

So the bondhholders said to MGM, in essence, that they were going to let the studio go bankrupt and collect their money since they’d be first in line to get paid. But Cooper explained that this would be the worst possible outcome for the creditors and the company. Because if MGM were forced into bankruptcy, then it would lose James Bond and the studio doesn’t think it can stay alive without 007. Also, a lot of other issues would surface that would tremendously hurt MGM.

Also, if MGM goes through bankruptcy, that’s a very expensive prospect (where only the lawyers get rich), and extremely disruptive (since who would do business with MGM in the interim) and won’t get the creditors what they want which is their money back. It’s more than simply MGM losing Bond. The studio could lose a lot of other franchises.

I’m sure both The Hobbit and James Bond 23 will survive just fine even if MGM goes under. Both franchises are sure-fire money makers, another company is guaranteed to snap up either one.

Looks like Freida Pinto may become the next Bond girl. 

A source close to the set says, “Freida came to the attention of the Bond team when they were casting Quantum of Solace. She was too young at the time to have a part as a love interest for a secret agent.”

“But she has blossomed into an incredibly stunning young woman and would look perfect on Daniel Craig’s arm. “Danny Boyle is the favorite to take the helm of the next movie, which would increase Freida’s chances of a starring role.”

She’d be great as a Bond girl, great actress.

Apparently Danny Boyle is being sought as the next Bond film director.

Producer Barbara Broccoli is said to be “leading the chase for his services”, helped along by producer Callum McDougall who worked with Boyle on 2000’s “The Beach”.

Despite being a British tabloid, and thus highly unreliable, the choice would be a fascinating one. Boyle’s work on “28 Days Later,” “The Beach” and “Sunshine” show his skill for action and pacing.

After the mixed response to Swiss helmer Marc Forster’s “Quantum of Solace” last year which made 007 feel “a bit too American and Bourne-like for many tastes” according to the paper, the hope is he can bring “a bit of wit back to 007″ while still keeping the more character-based serious tone of the Daniel Craig-led films.

I highly doubt he’ll take the job, although I would be happy if he did.

Steven Speilberg is taking a break from live action to make a 3D motion capture film called The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn. It is begininning principle photography and will star Jamie Bell, Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook.

Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced the start of principal production in Los Angeles on the 3D Motion Capture Film “The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn,” directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Jamie Bell (”Billy Elliot,” “Defiance”) as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig (”Quantum of Solace,” “Defiance”) as the nefarious Red Rackham.

It must be a pretty great story for Spielberg to devote so much to it. It will be very interesting to see this one develop.

Daniel Craig and his awesome bag of BBQ chips were spotted on the French island of St. Barts on Friday. He is eating them in almost every picture. I think it’s hot at least the 007 stud can eat things that aren’t the greatest for him and be proud. Lay’s are amazing!

There is nothing like sitting on a beach with a couple of friends and eating…and may be drinking. It must have been a great Christmas present for Daniel!

Daniel Craig talked with Collider.com about the future of Bond.�

When asked if the next �Bond� would be part of a trilogy, he said, �No f***ing way. I�m done with that story. I want to lie on a beach for the first half an hour of the next movie drinking a cocktail.�

While he was obviously kidding about lying on the beach for the first thirty minutes, I�m sure he meant every word about the next �Bond� movie starting fresh.��In fact, he had a few ideas about what he wants to do and they sound really good. Here�s what he said:

�We�ve finished this story as far as I�m concerned. We�ve got a great set of bad guys. There is an organization that we can use whenever we want to. The relationship between Bond and M is secure and Felix is secure. Let�s try and find where Moneypenny came from and where Q comes from. Let�s do all that and have some fun with it.�

The way he�s talking about the future, the next film might feature a return to the technology that�s been missing in these first two Daniel Craig �Bond��movies. In fact, the introduction of Q could be a main part of the movie. Maybe Bond has to rescue Q from whatever bad guys are in the next movie and turn him. Maybe he�s a genius inventor that the entire world wants and that�s the way they can introduce his ability to invent gadgets for future movies. The possibilities are endless.

While this is me just speculating, one of the things I�ve loved about both Daniel Craig Bond movies are the way they�re set in the real world. They�re not loaded with sci-fi special effects. While I�d love to see Q enter into this new Bond universe, I just hope they find a real world way of using his technology.

Finally, when asked about his future plans and if he�d like to make another movie before the next �Bond� film:

“We don�t know when we�re going to do the next Bond. Nobody�s thinking about it at the moment. We�re giving it a rest for the moment. If I can squeeze something in next year I will�but I haven�t figured out what that�ll be yet. But nothing in the cold.”

Whatever happens next with Bond will obviously be met with open arms by the public considering the enormous success of Quantum of Solace.�Details on plot, etc… will slowly be revealed late next year.

Its beginning to look like the new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace will have the best opening in the history of the 22 film series.

Box Office Mojo and other sources, have the action thriller grossing an estimated $27 million in its opening Friday, which is greater than half the opening of the biggest opening Bond movie to date, 2003’s Die Another Day. It can be projected that it will gross roughly $70 to 73 million based on that opening, which would also make it the fourth highest opening for the month of November. The previous Daniel Craig installment Casino Royale opened with $40.8 million on the same weekend two years ago before grossing $167 million domestically and $594 million worldwide. Internationally, Quantum of Solace has already grossed $161 million.

In times of financial trouble and war more people go to the movies for an escape. History repeats itself. Bond continues. Two more years and there will be another one. And hopefully the world will be a better place.�

The new Bond film, Quantum of Solace starring Daniel Craig looks like its going to break records this weekend.�

Sony and MGM�s latest James Bond installment “Quantum of Solace” is expected to break more records as it opens Friday in North America after a dazzling early run internationally.

By all accounts, “Quantum” is expected to score the biggest domestic opening of any Bond film, easily eclipsing the $47 million bow of “Die Another Day.”

The Pic is a follow-up to 2006�s “Casino Royale,” the runaway hit that successfully rebooted the 007 franchise with a more serious and smoldering Bond played by Daniel Craig. “Casino Royale” opened to $40 million at the domestic box office on its way to cuming $167.4 million, the highest gross for a film in the series.

Pic has already begun its international rollout to staggering results, earning $190 million through Wednesday.

Based on the overseas gross, as well as tracking, box office observers believe “Quantum of Solace” will open in the 50s and possible hit or exceed $60 million. All Sony needs to do is best the bow of “Die Another Die” to claim victory.

I’m getting ready to go see it myself tonight. It’s sure to be a cool entry in the franchise, Daniel Craig really brings grit to the Bond character that no other actor has. Although Sean Connery will always be my favorite Bond.
