Seems strange that this poster was sitting in a closet someplace with the old release date still printed on it. But here it is none the less. Maybe it’s a fake, even if it is, it does look pretty cool.

The upcoming vampire film Twilight has been moved up by three weeks because of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince being delayed to next summer.
Summit Entertainment announced today that they will move their anticipated adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s teen romance novel Twilight into the slot vacated by “Half-Blood Prince,” upping the release date from the movie’s original December 12 opening to November 21, the week before Thanksgiving. It will now be going up against Disney’s animated movie Bolt which itself moved into the slot yesterday after Warner Bros.’ decision.
This is surely great news for all the fans of the Stephanie Meyer book series.

Despite the delay announced yesterday, Harry Potter is on the cover of the this week’s Entertainment Weekly. It’s the headlining movie for the magazine’s ‘Fall Movie Preview’. The EW is pretty upset about it. Here’s what writer Jeff Giles had to say about it.
Whatever happened to Time Warner synergy? That’s what Entertainment Weekly is snarkily asking online because its ”early look at the newHarry Potter movie just a got a whole lot earlier”. ”In an irony sure to set blogger hearts beating giddily, the film graces the cover of EW’s new fall preview issue, which [just] hits stands. EW and Warner Bros. share a parent company, but they clearly do not share, you know, important friggin’ information…. A Warners publicist stressed that word about the rescheduling had only just come down today — which is most likely true, given that the Half-Blood teaser trailer is already in circulation. As of tomorrow, it will run with the new animated Star Wars movie, almost certainly still trumpeting a fall release date. The Potter movie is also on the cover of the fall preview issue of the British film magazine Empire. ”
This was clearly not a snap decision from Warner Brothers, maybe next time they will share info with their insiders a little more quickly.

The hotly anticipated Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been pushed back to the summer of next year by Warner Brothers today. The film’s original release date was November 21st 2008, the new official release date is July 17th 2009.
Studio boss Alan Horn cited “repercussions of the writers’ strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films — changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of. We agreed the best strategy was to move Half-Blood Prince to July, where it perfectly fills the gap for a major tent pole release for mid-summer.” Apparently, the move was subordinate Jeff Robinov’s idea. But he confirmed that the release date change does not alter the production schedule for the two-part Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
This is surely a huge disappointment to millions of Potter fans. Hopefully the movie is really good to make up for the extreme delay!

Dumbledore creates a firestorm to fend off the dangerous spooky creatures. “It’s almost a biblical image,” says Yates. “He’s a bit like Charlton Heston when he parts the Red Sea.”

In between filming various scenes, the kids of the Harry Potter films have taken up playing ping pong. Emma Watson has gotten very good and now no one will throw down with her for fear of embarassment when she beats them soundly.
Rupert Grint - who plays Ron Weasley - says, “I’ve got a table tennis on set and we’re always playing between scenes.
Dan (Radcliffe) has been have a few lucky months and we’ve both been getting really good but Emma is brilliant. We rarely play her now because it gets quite embarrassing.”
Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince is due in theaters in the US November 21, 2008. The final installment of the series, The Deathly Hallows, will be split into two films.

The sixth installment of the lucrative Harry Potter franchise was interrupted and filming halted briefly by two male streakers who zipped past stars Daniel Radcliffe and Helena Bonham Carter.
Stars Daniel Radcliffe and Helena Bonham Carter retreated to their caravans while security chased the pair off.
But once filming resumed on The Deathly Hallows, the duo crept back and made monkey noises at the location shoot in Farnham, Surrey.
This is kinda funny. What kind of security doesn’t remove them completely so they can come back and make monkey noises?

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and co-star Emma Watson were spotted having a secret romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day.
Daniel and Emma were seen snuggled together in the garden of a London pub near Radcliffe’s home.
“They arrived quite late at the pub - about 10pm - and sat outside, using each other’s bodies for warmth. Emma, who was wearing a black top and matching pashmina, kept looking over her shoulder nervously as if she didn’t wanted to be recognised. When people started to notice the couple and began pointing, she wrapped her scarf around her head so only her eyes were peeping out. Daniel found her new look hysterical and started laughing. Throughout the night, in fact, he just kept giggling like a love-struck teen. They then left the pub, heads together and whispering, and headed in the direction of Daniel’s home nearby,” says an onlooker.
Such a cute thought!

The Food Network’s show, Ace of Cakes, will be airing an episode featuring the cake created by Duff Goldman of Charm City Cakes and crew for the Los Angeles premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The episode is expected to show Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, as well as costars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, speaking with Duff about the “bewitching” cake. Ace of Cakes is premiering on 24th January at 10:30pm(ET).

Having a blast in London is not cheap, but if you are friends with the boy wizard millionaire Daniel Radcliffe, drinks are on him and so is the good time. On a recent night out with his chums, Radcliffe paid for everyone’s tab and let loose with a couple of blondes.
The 18-year-old actor was partying at exclusive nightspot Crazy Larry in the British capital, and put $1000 (£500) behind the bar to provide plenty of beverages for his pals.
And Radcliffe was spotted befriending two blonde girls - one of which he is alleged to have left the club with.
A source tells British newspaper The Mirror, “Daniel paid for all the champagne and told the club to supply his mates with anything they wanted. “He spent the night dancing with two slim posh girls and asked the DJ twice to play The Killers. He got into deep conversation with one of the girls and later left with her.”
Our little Harry Potter is all grown up.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has just dipped into his seriously sizable stash of money and purchased a penthouse in Manhattan, in preparation for his upcoming Broadway role in Equus.
The star, who gained control of his finances after turning 18 back in July, has reportedly purchased a 1,843 sq ft luxury abode.
The well-appointed apartment is on the fifth floor of a 13 storey block, in New York’s trendy SoHo district.
Designed by architect, Jean Nouvel, Daniel now has access to “hotel like” services at the new property.
His two bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom pad also boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and has access to a 50 foot swimming pool and steam room.
Nice digs. Wonder how many fans will make the trip to his place and camp outside waiting to see him?

Daniel Radcliffe,17, has been seen enjoying the company of actress Laura O’Toole, 22. The two met while in the West End production of the controversial play, Equus, that starred Radcliffe. O’Toole was an understudy.
A source said: “Everyone in the cast of Equus got on terribly well but they are closer in age than most of the other actors so it was no surprise they bonded.”
Another added: “It is certainly a budding friendship. They have become very close.”
Miss O’Toole, who made her name six years ago in the Irish TV series On Home Ground on RTE, so impressed producers of Equus that she will now play the female lead opposite Lily Allen’s brother Alfie when the play goes on a UK tour next year.
Radcliffe, who will get £25 million for starring in the final two Harry Potter movies, is set to open in the play in New York next year.
Earlier this year, Radcliffe let it be known he was looking for a girlfriend, but said he wouldn’t date an actress because they are “completely barking.” Never say never, especially in print.
