Blogs that lay claim to being the “first” to report something always amuse me.  I love the YBF but they truly think they’ve got the corner on black entertainment news covered.  I beg to differ.  A tabloid is a tabloid, no?

Anyways, the good folks are reporting two things about Danity Kane “founder” Dawn Richards; one of which I stand behind!

Dawn Richard has definitely gone solo. She dished the goods to YBF snitches during her special guesting duties at Majestic Group’s Majestic Saturdays at Nikki Marina in Hollywood, FL this weekend. Here’s the juice:

Dawn exclusively revealed to YBF snitches that she is definitely solo, and there won’t be another Danity Kane. She also indicated–in her own way–that she and Q of Day26 are no longer dating. But she did say they are “cool”. Our source says:

When Beyonce’s single ladies came on…homegirl danced around as if she caught the “holy ghost”. Seemed like another confirmation that she may be SINGLE TO MINGLE.

By the way, Dawn also revealed that she will make her “I’m going solo” anti-climatic announcement on the “Making The Band 4″ Season Finale. Damn–officially split from both Danity Kane and your man? Can’t say we didn’t see it coming. Especially since we were the first to call this solo act of hers over a year ago.

Despite “sources”, being a member of Dawn’s twitter page, I’ve been seeing quite a bit of updates about how much they “love” each other, so I’m only going to have to give the news about her solo project announcement the stamp of approval.  The biggest downside: has Diddy ever successfully managed and promoted a female solo artist? (see Cassie, Faith Evans, Jordan McCoy, Babs, etc.)

Aubrey O’Day got kicked out of Danity Kane for wanting to push her scandalous, sexy image over what was best for the group. So it came as no surprise when it was announced that she was posing for Playboy magazine. Though I find that publication to be not of my taste, I am glad to see they are putting someone with a “fuller figure” in their pages.

Last night Aubrey celebrated the release of her March 2009 cover as well as her 25th birthday at the Apple Lounge in West Hollywood. Hugh Hefner, all his girlfriends, Russell Simmons, Paris Hilton, Jayde Nicole and others gathered for the drunken love fest. Enjoy the pics!

As if every music fan is the biggest idiot in the world, Aubrey O’Day is coming forth, batting her synthetic eyelashes, completely uninformed as-to why people would ever speculate on her sexuality (after both dropping press releases about her bisexuality and rumored Playboy cover shoot [which sources exclusively confirmed to me indeed happened] and showed up to parties with gorgeous females on her arms and lips).

O’Day sat with MTVNews (who’s curiously still standing behind this ousted girl grouper) to say “I think [the fact] that so many people are wondering along with me definitely puts pressure on my choices!” she said.

“But one thing that I have to say about me that’s really always gonna be true, whether people like it or not, is I’m just gonna be me.”

“I just want to be real,” she said. “I think we’re missing a lot of real people, and just the idea that you can be real and be comfortable with that. I think people are scared to be who they are. And if anybody’s gonna go out there and let everybody know, ‘Be who you are. I’m OK with it. No judgment here.’ I want it to be me.”

JUST STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!! Stop talking!!!! You become more and more irrelevant with every press release, interview, photo shoot you do!� … or am I perpetuating it by even posting this?� Dammit!

Is anyone really that surprised though? Ex-Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day reportedly posed nude (with lion cubs!) in a Manhattan photo studio this past weekend for Hugh Hefner’s legendary magazine.

Famously, O’Day was booted from the double-platinum-selling group along with fellow member D. Woods after Aubs was creating an image of self-promotion and sexuality. We all saw the Complex magazine pics (steamy to say the lease), and while these [hopefully] will look a lot less greasy, is it in better, or worse taste?

O’Day was shot by celebrity photographer Markus Klinko, who’s snapped Mariah Carey, and Beyonce before (most notably, the cover of B’s Dangerously In Love album). Both magazine reps and O’Day’s people have officially confirmed the reports which broke just as our asses were enjoying some Thanksgiving leftovers. Yum.

We’ve all heard by now that Danity Kane has been shortened by two members– Aubrey O’Day and D.Woods, and as usually happens, more details have emerged under the why aspect, via still-standing member Dawn Richard.

The group, which had just signed with Dollhouse Teen (which is for young teenage girls), was thrust into a field of contradiction by O’Day’s image (and recent Complex magazine cover spread)

“Puff did not like [O'Day's] image … where her image was going for the group. It wasn’t a personal thing,” she added, explaining that O’Day’s recent topless appearance on the cover of Complex magazine wasn’t sending the right message to the group’s fans. “So, we can’t do that one day and then the next day do an obnoxious cover. … [Diddy] wants the fans, and he says he can’t do that if we can continue to go in the direction that we were going.”

About the future of the group?

“Well, Puff told me specifically that Aubrey is no longer in Danity Kane, and Danity Kane will move forward without her,” she explained, adding that Diddy hasn’t mentioned anything about replacing the two singers. “He has not said anything per that. But I think in my heart that he is going to do another show.”

The show Richard’s referring to– the upcoming new installment of Making the Band alludes to the hunt for replacement member(s).

Danity Kane got together one last time for a new series of ads for PETA.�� The girls of Making the Band appear naked covered up only by a banner proclaiming the now-familiar slogan “We’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur.”
