Bane’s Ultimate Weapon from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’? (Images)

Here are a couple of revealing new images that have surfaced from the set of the upcoming mega-sequel The Dark Knight Rises.

Could this be Banes doomsday device in the movie? A previously captured scene from the set showed the device being wheeled out behind Bane at a football game where he gives a speech calling the orb “the instrument of your liberation.” It certainly looks like this thing is going to be a major part of the story, I can’t wait to see the full trailer for the film, hopefully by Christmas time! In the mean time, speculate away!

First Look: Full ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Catwoman Costume Revealed!

The first look at the full Catwoman costume images have hit online. The upcoming sequel, The Dark Knight Rises, stars Anne Hathaway as the infamous feline femme fatale.

The costume looks pretty general really, simple and functional. Although the actual mask is a little halloween costume-ish.

I’m not all that thrilled that she’s been picked to play this part, but she’s a great actress, so I’m sure she’ll do a good job. Christopher Nolan isn’t known for making the popular choices with his female leads, but this movie will probably be awesome anyway.

First Look: Henry Cavil as Superman ‘Man of Steel’ (Images)

Here’s the first official image of Henry Cavill as your new Superman in Man of Steel. And here are some more images from the set showing off the details of the costume.

Its certainly a much more stylized version of Superman than we’ve ever seen, but it makes perfect sense considering the director Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300, Sucker Punch). While I like the visuals in all those movies, I wasn’t impressed with any of those movies story lines. I’m hoping Man of Steel breaks the trend and has a great story.

First Look: Catwoman in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Here’s the first official image of Anne Hathaway as  Catwoman in the upcoming movie The Dark Knight Rises. Click the image to see the large version.

This isn’t quite what I’d imagined in terms of a costume, but I’m sure this is just a sneak peek. I wonder if she’ll actually have a whip? Maybe this is more the Selina Kyle side of the character more than the actual Catwoman side? Even if this is the full costume I’m sure it’ll work for the movie, sometimes simplicity is best. Those goggles look like they must give her some killer cat-like vision. What do you think?

New Image: Batman Punishes Bane on ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Set

Here’s the latest on set image from The Dark Knight Rises.

It’s a great shot, obviously Bane takes some serious beating down from Batman. I’m guessing Batman will receive more than  his fair share of punishment in the movie too. The most striking thing about this image to me is his utility belt, it’s gold, much like the old school yellow belt. Definitely not something I would have expected for the modern Batman franchise, but it still works.

New Full ‘Green Lantern’ Trailer Arrives

Here’s the new full trailer for the upcoming comic book movie Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds.

This is by far the best trailer so far for this movie, and I’m sorry to say, I’m not excited. As much as I want it to be good, it just looks a little too corny. The amount of promotional material for this movie is overbearing, granted this is a big comic book release, but it’s no Marvel movie. The fan-base for Green Lantern has to be miniscule in comparison to most other big-name comics, which all have movies out or on the way already.

Watch Four Minutes of ‘Green Lantern’ Now! (Video)

Here is four minutes of footage released today to show off the upcoming film Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds.

I must admit, this footage brought me back some of the hope I’d lost in this movie. It’s really visually stunning obviously, but I’ve been worried about the overall presentation of the Green Lantern universe. It’s looking like a cool fantasy movie from this footage, it’s like the superhero factor is just a side story. What do you think?

Amy Adams is Lois Lane in ‘Superman: Man of Steel’

Amy Adams has been cast to play Lois Lane in the upcoming Zack Snyder remake Superman: Man of Steel.

This just in — three-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams will play journalist Lois Lane in Hollywood’s revival of “Superman.”

The 36-year-old star got the news on Sunday from directorZack Snyder, who phoned her from Paris, where he was promoting his just-opened film, “Sucker Punch.”

This is great news, she seems like a great choice. After seeing her flawlessly pull off her role in The Fighter I’ve gained so much more respect for her. I think the fact that she doesn’t really look like the Lois Lane lot of people would expect will work to the movie’s advantage. Sadly I’m just so doubtful of Zack Snyder’s ability to create a sense of emotional depth in his movies, it makes me worry Superman: Man of Steel will fall flat. What do you think?

Diane Lane is Superman’s Mom in ‘Superman: Man of Steel’

Diane Lane has been cast to play Superman’s mom in the upcoming remake Superman: Man of Steel.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Oscar®-nominated actress Diane Lane will play Martha Kent, the only mother Clark Kent has ever known, in the new Superman movie to be directed by Zack Snyder.

She’s a great actress so I’m actually glad about the casting choice, even though she seems a little young. With a little age makeup, she’ll work for later scenes when Superman is an adult I suppose. I just hope the film doesn’t linger too much on backstory, I’d rather see more of Superman in modern times.

Meet Your New ‘Superman: Man of Steel’ Henry Cavill!

The New Man of Steel has been cast! British actor Henry Cavill will play Superman in director Zack Snyder‘s reboot, Superman: Man of Steel.

Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures have found their new Man of Steel…

… Warner Bros clearly has chosen a more macho leading man for Superman than the previous Brandon Routh or even Christopher Reeve. “He’s got an amazing quality. He doesn’t look too much like Reeve and Routh but he’s big and strong and he has a very modern feel to him,” a Warner Bros exec just told us. “We’re really going to try and make Superman as contemporary as possible.” And just like it did with Christian Bale in the Batman reboot, the studio has gone with a British actor. In fact, Cavill also auditioned for the Batman role but lost out to Bale in 2005. He also was a contender for James Bond but was deemed too young and lost out to Daniel Craig.

Great choice in terms of his look, hopefully his acting abilities are equally fitting for the role. The movie is being produced by Christopher Nolan so I’m expecting it to be a huge step up from previous versions of Superman. What do you think? Good choice?
