Debbie Gibson Files Restraining Order

Is celebrity stalking the latest hot trend?  Earlier this month a woman obsessed with Anderson Cooper  tried to move in with him!  Now Debbie Gibson’s got a follower who’s putting the “fan” back in “fanatic.”

Or maybe the “Foolish” in “Foolish Beat.”  TMZ reports that Bassas Jorge Puigdollers has stalked Gibson (whom I just cannot call Deborah - sorry, Debbie!)  around the globe.  He has even left his wife in Spain to drive around the U.S. following the former teen pop star, showing up repeatedly at her L.A. home.

Debbie told TMZ that she filed the restraining order because “I feel my safety is in jeopardy.”

I know it’s nothing to joke about, but I’m kind of impressed that she’s still got the cache to have a stalker.  I mean I knew guys in high school who were probably that obsessed with Miss Electric Youth, but that was a long time ago.  She does still look really good though!
