New ‘Megamind’ Poster Nothing Special

Here’s the new poster for the upcoming movie Megamind starring the voices of Will Ferrell and Brad Pitt.

This movie just doesn’t look that great to me, hopefully I’ll be proven wrong. Look for it in November.

New ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Trailer is a Lot of Fun

How To Train Your Dragon Banner

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming animated film How to Train Your Dragon from Dreamworks Animation.

This movie does look a bit generic, but this trailer actually made me chuckle. I’m sure it’ll be at least moderately entertaining, a good one to take the kids too, with hopefully enough humor and a story for the big kids.

First ‘Shrek Forever After’ Trailer Falls Flat

Shrek Forever After Poster

Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming animated film, Shrek Forever After.

This trailer really doesn’t give us a lot in terms of comedy or story, I chuckled but I expect big laughs. Maybe this franchise should have stopped at the first sequel. I’m not exactly feeling excited about this.

First Look: ‘Shrek Forever After’ (Image)

Shrek Forever After Image

Here’s the first image from the upcoming sequel Shrek Forever After, the fourth and final installment in the series.

The once-upon-a-time spoofing that began with 2001′s Shrek will conclude when Shrek Forever After, the fourth computer-animated comic adventure starring the hygiene-challenged ogre — and the first in 3-D — arrives May 21. A trailer premieres Dec. 18 at showings of Avatar.

“All that was loved about Shrek in the first film is brought to the final film,” promises Bill Damaschke, head of creative production atDreamWorks. Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz are back as the voices of Shrek, sidekick Donkey and ogress wife Fiona.

This movie will obviously be a lot of fun, but I hope it’s better than Shrek the Third. The first two had a certain magic about them that the third one just didn’t pull off. In any case I want to see it.

Fun ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Trailer for the Whole Family

how_to_train_your_dragon-2

Here’s the trailer for the film How to Train Your Dragon, coming next March from Dreamworks Animation.

This looks like it’s going to be a cute movie. Definitely one for the whole family, Dreamworks Animation has been managing to come out with some good stuff. I like the whole viking element instead of just simply knights and kings with the dragons.

‘Shrek 4′ Plot Revealed

shrek

Here’s the newly available plot of the next Shrek film, entitled Shrek Goes Fourth.

After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws’ kingdom, what’s an ogre to do? Well, if you’re Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. What’s happened to this ogre’s roar?

Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre”, Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumplestiltskin.

Shrek suddenly finds himself in a in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumplestiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all he’s done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

Sounds like a nice change from the somewhat boring path the story was taking. I’ll see it.

Dreamworks and Disney Join Forces

dreamdisney

Walt Disney Pictures and Dreamworks Pictures have joined forces for a long term distribution partnership.

Disney said Monday that the studio has agreed to enter into an exclusive “long-term distribution arrangement” with DreamWorks.

“Under the terms of this arrangement, Disney will handle distribution and marketing for approximately six DreamWorks films each year,” the studios said in a joint release. “The first DreamWorks motion picture to be released under the Touchstone Pictures banner is scheduled to hit theaters in 2010.”

Disney CEO Robert Iger hailed Spielberg’s “artistic vision and commitment to quality filmmaking.”

DreamWorks co-founder Steven Spielberg called Disney “the birthplace of imagination.”

I’m curious to see what the first combined release will be. Will Steven Spielberg be directing a Disney movie?
