Dwayne Johnson Finally in a New Action Film ‘Faster’

dwayne-johnson-walking-tall-world-premiere-in-los-angeles-02bkjp1

Dwayne Johnson is set to star in a new action film called Faster.

Johnson will play an ex-con bent on avenging the death of his brother, who was murdered 10 years earlier when the two were double-crossed during a heist.

When Johnson began negotiating, his “Gridiron Gang” helmer Phil Joanou was expected to direct the film, but he dropped out several months ago. Joe and Tony Gayton wrote the script. Tillman last directed the Notorious B.I.G. biopic, “Notorious.”

Finally Johnson is getting back to a real action role! He was supposed to be the new Arnold Schwarzenegger, but he’s been too busy making comedies and Disney flicks. Hopefully it will be a great comeback for him.

Dwayne Johnson is in talks to star in a new action film called Faster

CBS Films is in final negotiations with Dwayne Johnson to star in ”Faster,” an action drama that will be Johnson’s next film.

Pic will be helmed by Phil Joanou, who directed Johnson in ”Gridiron Gang.” Joe andTony Gayton wrote the script.

While Johnson most recently has toplined family comedy hits, “Faster” puts him back into edgy action territory.

He’ll play an ex-con bent on avenging the death of his brother, murdered 10 years earlier when the two were double-crossed during a heist.

Sounds like same old same old, but I like Johnson. Hopefully he’ll bring plenty of his comic timing to the role.

Dwayne Johnson Believes In UFOs

dwayne-johnson-celebrity-star

The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, stars in the box office hit Race To Witch Mountain.  How did he get ready for the role?  By attending a UFO convention.  And how does he feel about aliens?

I’m a big believer. And I was a big believer before the movie. Andy Fickman, the director, wanted to make the film as authentic as possible. So he filled that place with people who attend UFO conventions and who are typically part of UFO conventions, who have their tables set up and things like that. So it was a pretty eye opening experience to be exposed to that culture.

It takes a brave person to admit to believing in extraterrestrials to the media.  Especially since people like, oh, bloggers will then mock you for it!

Zach Efron Might Be ‘Johnny Quest’

A feature film version of the animated show Johnny Quest is in development. Zach Efron might be Johnny.

“High School Musical” franchise star Zac Efron talked to Moviehole about possibly starring in a live-action adaptation of “Jonny Quest” at Warner Bros. Pictures.Race to Witch Mountain director Andy Fick and star Dwayne Johnson are circling the project as well.

Efron would play the title role, while Johnson would play Race Bannon. The popular 1960s animated Hanna-Barbera TV series revolved around a young boy who travels the world with his scientist father, adopted brother from India, Bandit the bulldog, and a government agent (Bannon) assigned to protect them as they go on their adventures investigating scientific mysteries.

This is one of those projects that doesn’t interest me much, all I can think about is the terrible Speed Racer. Some things are better left alone.

Dwayne Johnson Talks ‘Get Smart 2′ and ‘Shazam!’

Soon we may very well see a sequel to the hit movie, Get Smart starring Steve Carell and Dwayne Johnson. Or even Shazam!

Talking about “Get Smart”: Is Agent 23 (Dwayne’s character in the movie) really dead?

Johnson: [laughs] er… actually… no. If there’s a “Get Smart 2″, there’s a great possibility that Agent 23 would come back.

And talking about another project with Peter Segal, how’s “Shazam!” doing?

Johnson: It’s doing good. We’re just waiting for the draft to come in. I’m not too sure where that is right now. [because] I haven’t had the opportunity to speak with Pete about that in some time in a couple of months. You know, that’s the character that I loved the idea of playing, not necessarily Shazam!, but Black Adam. I was very excited about that.Much like a lot of material in Hollywood, it will go round and round and I’m sure it will find its way back to us. And I’m sure one day if it all fits perfectly, then we’ll do.

Dwayne isn’t really going for the oscar performances in his career, but you I must admit he’s a pretty funny guy.

‘Race to Witch Mountain’ Trailer with Dwayne Johnson

The new trailer for Race to Witch Mountain starringDwayne Johnson is here.

I have to hand it to Disney, they really know how to bring back old concepts and ideas to make money. I was on the set of this movie for a couple of days during the shoot, seems like it might be pretty good for a kids movie.

Dwayne Johnson to Rock ‘Tomorrowland’

Dwayne Johnson is Disney’s new favorite guy.

After turning the theme park ride “Pirates of the Caribbean” into a blockbuster film trilogy, Disney is circling an entire segment of its theme park Tomorrowland as inspiration for a space movie that will star Dwayne Johnson.

The studio has set scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore to draft an epic-sized action adventure set in space. The film is being designed as a vehicle for Johnson, who starred for the studio in family hit “The Game Plan” and most recently completed “Race to Witch Mountain.”

Disney denies the film has been titled “Tomorrowland” or is dedicated to the parks section, a futuristic area of the Magic Kingdom that includes such attractions as Space Mountain. The studio called the nascent project an original script.

Sounds like it could be something interesting. This one is going to take a while though, space movie = CGI, CGI = years of production.
