Ever wonder how the new professionals are chosen for Dancing with the Stars? Me too. Recently, three have been plucked from So You Think You Can Dance fame (Lacey Schwimmer, Chelsie Hightower, and Dmitry Chaplin). However, most of them are people we have never seen or heard of before. Now the show is letting us choose who the next professional on the show will be!

Last night, three men and three women performed, and each week the male and female receiving the fewest votes will be eliminated. When it gets down to four, only one will be sent home, and that will continue until a winner is crowned. The six dancers competing are Mayo Alanen, Brent Borbon, Afton Delgrosso, Anna Demidova, Genya Mazo and Snow Urbin. Genya is current professional Alex Mazo’s brother, while Mayo was the cheesiest, weirdest, most obnoxious ballroom dude I’ve ever seen.

I wonder who they’re dumping next season to bring in the new person?

After all the newbies performed last night, Lawrence Taylor was eliminated. It was no shock to anyone, and he was actually excited to be done with it so he could get back to golfing. Good thing because I was tired of seeing Edyta half naked every week!

Oh yeh, if one Osmond on Dancing with the Stars wasn’t enough cheese to make your stomach turn, here comes another!!

During a segment on The Bonnie Hunt Show, Donny Osmond appeared with sister Marie - who starred on the show’s fifth edition - and let slip that he was officially on board for the next installment, which premieres in March.

“I guess I am making an announcement. I’ll say I am seriously considering doing it, let’s put it that way,” Donny said, laughing and adding: “I guess I just let the cat out of the bag.”

Great! Maybe he’ll faint, too. Marie got way too far on the show because all 134, 762 members of her family called 10 times each every night. Hopefully he’s cut early, or he cuts the cheese factor down a lot. Riiiiight.

Who does Samantha Harris- the spastic host of Dancing with the Stars- want to nab for the show? None other than sexiest man alive, Hugh Jackman!

“He’s a song and dance man. He’s a Broadway guy,” Harris told People. “He’s got charisma and you know he can move.”

Harris said that she had previously approached Jackman and proposed that he compete on the ABC dance reality show. She added that she had been extremely pleased with his response. “He actually twirled and dipped me. I was so excited,” she told People. “That made my year.”

Of course Hugh is way too much of an A-list celeb to do such a show like this, but hey, I guess a girl can dream right?

Supermodel and Project Runway host Heidi Klum is next in the line of possible Dancing with the Stars contestants for next season (already including Steve-O and Stevie Wonder).

Heidi Klum said: “I love dancing. It is so elegant and the gowns are so beautiful. I would love to do Dancing With The Stars. I love sparkles! It’s nice if you’re at a restaurant and someone looks across at you and you’re all sparkly. I think it’s really beautiful.”

Rumor has it that Jackass Steve-O will be joining next season’s cast of Dancing with the Stars, and Lacey Schwimmer is up for the challenge.

“There’s obviously no confirmation. We don’t even know until a few days before the show, but it would be awesome if it were true,” Schwimmer said of the Steve-O rumor. “I would be totally down to dance with him! I’m not kidding.”

The eighth season of Dancing With the Stars premieres on March 9. Expect the cast list to be announced a few weeks prior to that date.

What a difference that would be to go from Lance Bass to Steve-O. Wow.

Looks like the Dancing with the Stars professionals have more to say about their fellow dancers. Because the hooplah about Cheryl Burke’s weight wasn’t enough, now they are criticizing Julianne Hough’s career choices.

Dancing with the Stars professionals Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo both questioned the 20-year-old dancer-turned-singer’s decision to dump the ABC reality dancing competition in order to focus on her blossoming music career, E! News reported Monday.

“Obviously I understand her thinking, she wants to be separated from dancing, she wants people to think of her as a singer,” Sliwinska told E! News while attending a Christmas tree lighting at The Grove shopping complex in Los Angeles on Sunday. “But I think that the show brought her up, the show is where she started and I think she should maintain that audience from Dancing with the Stars as well as her new audience that she’s gained from singing. If I was her, I would be doing both.”

Mazo agreed and warned Hough to be careful about her decisions and how others may perceive them.

“I think she needs to be a little bit more careful about how she represents herself,” Mazo said, according to E! News. “That’s her fan base and you wanna make sure that you have a good relationship with everybody. The last thing you want to say is ‘I’m not coming back.’ It’s an ultimatum. You don’t wanna do that.”

Ok, the chick is following her dreams. Maybe her fans should follow her and these dancers should get over themselves. They may be one trick ponies, but Julianne’s not.

All three finalists on Dancing with the Stars and their partners did a samba face off, with Brooke Burke as the only contestant to score a perfect 10 for that number. In the freestyles, Brooke’s was the obvious favorite with judges, with Len calling it the best he has EVER seen and all three judges giving her 10s. Lance Bass‘ hip hop had flavor, and Warren Sapp had the crowd on their feet. Carrie Ann said Warren’s was her favorite, and Len even gave him a 10 because of his entertainment value.

Brooke’s total: 58/60

Lance’s total: 53/60

Warren’s total: 53/60

Predictions: Lance will come in third, and Brooke and Warren will be the last two standing. I want Warren to win, and though Brooke’s technique is superior, no one beats his charm.

Julianne Hough’s first love has apparently always been singing, and now she’s speaking about her future as a country music artist, and leaving her dancing shoes behind.

In fact, after Thanksgiving, Hough, 20, plans to go to Nashville to record and settle into her new place. She just bought a condo down there.

“I’m so excited to go back,” said Hough. “Get ready for the next record, start writing, going on tour, [and] promoting this record.” Her self-titled debut CD, Julianne Hough, hit #1 on Billboard’s Country Album chart. That played a role in her hanging up the dancing shoes.

Does she miss Dancing with the Stars?

“I’m sad to say that I don’t really, but I’m sure I probably will when the show comes around next season,” said Julianne of missing the ballroom.

Good for her. I say go for your passions over the easy road anytime!

Though many of us were sad to see Cody Linley and Julianne Hough eliminated from Dancing with the Stars, Lance Bass was jumping for joy.

“She was the one I was scared of the most,” Bass told People Magazine this week. “She’s the queen of Dancing with the Stars and I know that she knows how to win this thing. I love her so much, but I’m glad she’s gone and I don’t have to face her.”

The former boy bander thinks Brooke Burke is now his main competition for the title.

“She’s definitely the one I’m looking at,” he said. “She’s been in first place every week and the judges seem to absolutely love her. She could pee on the floor and they would give her 10s for it.”

Was he there last week when Brooke got straight 7s? Basically the dude is intimidated by real competition. Real men like to win against the best. Oh well.

Julianne Hough believes that the judges on Dancing with the Stars kept Cody Linley out of the finale on purpose, and that they never really wanted him to do well. She also feels they picked on him all season… so she told the world about it on her blog.

“I don’t know what the judges were watching or thinking [during Monday night's performance show]. I don’t know what they had a problem with. I think they simply had it in for Cody and didn’t want him to make the finals,” Hough wrote on her personal blog. “I thought he did a great job. I went and watched the dances again and he was awesome. I thought he should have had much better scores and better comments.”

“I just don’t think the judges got it [Monday] night,” continued Hough on her blog.  “You can tell, I can’t figure out what they were looking at. I feel like they haven’t been nice to us this whole season. Cody has been trying so hard. But he doesn’t seem to be able to anything right for the judges. I feel bad for him.”

“It was hard to learn two dances this week, on top of the fact it was the first week we were back together,” said Hough in her blog.  “He has been really emotional… Cody’s also really tired. It’s been 13 weeks since we started this whole thing. He’s exhausted.”

Hough described Dancing with the Stars as “probably the biggest thing” Linley has ever done and sounded optimistic about his future now that the couple is off the show. “I think the opportunities are just going to flow to him,” she said.  “I think this is going to be a big thing in his life and his career. He’s done an awesome job. I don’t think he could’ve done anything more.”

The three best celebs are in the finals… America and the judges got it right, but best wishes to Cody. He seems like a sweet kid.

No sooner than Julianne Hough returned back to Dancing with the Stars, she and partner Cody Linley were sent packing. The 18 year old kid evolved into somewhat of a man during his time on the show, and gracefully departed.

“Words can’t even explain the true, amazing, growing, learning journey that I’ve had on the show,” he said.

The evening was packed with musical performances from Leona Lewis, John Legend, Julianne Hough and Aretha Franklin. Miley Cyrus will be performing at next week’s finale.

The queen of the dance, Brooke Burke, found out what it was like to be a lowly normal contestant on Dancing with the Stars last night. Her first dance, the jitterbug, earned her straight 7s… At this point in the game, that’s a major ouch. The fact that she went for a major lift in the semi-finals definitely rubbed Carrie Ann the wrong way, and her technique was horrible. She came back with a vengeance, looking like a completely different dancer for the salsa, scoring a 29.

Lance Bass was the star of the evening, with a 28 mambo and 29 jitterbug. His total score of 57 was eight points higher than the stars who tied for second, Burke and Warren Sapp (who could charm the pants off anyone). Cody Linley’s cheesiness is slowing killing him and he brought up the rear with a total of 46.

Unfortunately, Julianne Hough’s days look numbered, but she will be performing on tonight’s results show- not dancing, singing.

You read that right… Not Susan Lucci or Brooke Burke, but Warren Sapp (the 300lb ex-football player) is being deemed the diva of Dancing with the Stars.

“I’ll tell you what,” Sapp said during a taping for Inside the NFL. “I have to be honest about the diva thing. I am a little eccentric at times. I like cold water and in California they like it room temperature. And as a 300-pound man I needed a little cold water. So they gave me a big cooler and they put “Warren’s Water,” so I guess that’s where they get that from. If a big fella needing cold water is being a diva, then diva I am.”

Maurice Greene will not become the first-ever Olympic Gold Medalist and Dancing with the Stars champion.

The track and field star was up for elimination last night against Hannah Montana actor Cody Linley. Both celebrities tied for the lowest scores – 48 out of 60 – after Monday’s ballroom and Latin dances.

“I had a lot of fun. I made a lot of good friends out here,” Greene told Samantha Harris after his name was called. “I learned how to dance out here in front of millions of people every night. I had a great time.”

The four remaining celebrities are Brooke Burke, Cody Linley, Warren Sapp, and Lance Bass.

Warren Sapp gave Brooke Burke a run for her money last night on Dancing with the Stars.

The joyful former football player scored his perfect 10 of the competition, thanks to an energetic tango with partner Kym Johnson. It was one of two solid dances for the tandem, as each Dancing with the Stars couple performed twice for the judges.
