Elijah Wood, Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg Starring in ‘Celeste and Jesse Forever’

Elijah Wood, Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg are set to star in the upcoming romantic comedy Celeste and Jesse Forever.

Elijah Wood has joined the cast of Celeste and Jesse Forever, the romantic comedy starring Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg, which is being directed by Lee Toland Krieger.

The script, by Jones and Will McCormack, follows a couple (Jones and Samberg) in the midst of a divorce attempting to maintain their friendship while pursuing new relationships.

Wood will play Celeste’s business partner, a metrosexual who tries to be her “saucy gay friend.”

All three of these actors are funny, I’m betting they will pull off a lot of laughs in this movie.  It’s hard to pull off a romantic comedy that appeals to a wide audience. I hope they manage to make it marketable to everyone.

WATCH: All-Star Beastie Boys ‘Make Some Noise’ Video

The Beastie Boys long-awaited Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 is finally going to see the light of day and the first single “Make Some Noise” is just the kind of fun we’ve been missing with their absence.

The video picks up right where their first breakout hit “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)” left off and substitutes Elijah Wood, Seth Rogen and Danny McBride for the trio of Ad Roc (Adam Horovitz) MCA (Adam Yauch) and Mike D. (Mike Diamond).

The video is loaded with stars: Steve Buscemi, Chloe Sevigny, Maya Rudolph, Will Ferrell, Will Arnett, Amy Poehler, Orlando Bloom, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Jack Black and John C. Reilly, just to name a few.

And how great is Elijah Wood in this? Just mountains of Ad Roc-ness!

WELCOME BACK BEASTIE BOYS

Elijah Wood: New York City Stroll

Elijah Wood enjoyed an afternoon in the Big Apple on Tuesday.

The 30 year-old took some time to hang with friends after shooting scenes for his upcoming FX TV show Wilfred.

Wood and costar Jason Gann, have been in Venice Beach, California filming with Gann in dog costume and Wood hitting a bong for the show. (See photos here.)

The show is a U.S. remake of the Australian dark comedy starring Gann as the alter-ego of Ryan (Wood) a repressed and depressed man caught in his fears while his dog/ego pushes his limits. Watch the trailer here.

WATCH: Elijah Wood In ‘Wilfred’ Teaser Trailer

Elijah Wood stars in Wilfred, an off-beat comedy that will premiere on FX in June.

Wilfred is a remake of the Australian show of the same name, centered around Ryan, (Wood) an isolated and unhappy guy who falls for his neighbor, Jenna (Fiona Gubelmann) but has to contend with her dog.

The dog appears to the world as just that, a lovable furry friend, but to Ryan it becomes his alter ego – he sees a man (Jason Gann) in a dog suit – urging and pushing him to confront problems, bust out of his depression and be more assertive.

Gann was the star and co-creator of the Aussie version and continues his role as the ‘dog’ in the U.S. series.

Additionally, actor Chris Klein has just been signed for a multi-episode arc, according to TVLine.

I am really looking forward to this just on the premise alone and then this teaser trailer hit. Wood and Gann have great chemistry and if the scripts stay on point – this will be awesome.

Elijah Wood Returning for ‘The Hobbit’?

There is speculation that Elijah Wood could make an appearance in the upcoming Lord of the Rings trilogy prequel The Hobbit.

I’ve learned that Warner Bros will, in fact, pay the entire cost of the two installments ofThe Hobbit, a price-tag that is expected to exceed $500 million. Now, the question will be which cast members from The Lord of the Rings come back for encores. I’ve heard talk of conversations with Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis and possibly Elijah Wood. I’d heard Orlando Bloom was also in talks before the holidays. Returning actors will need to be locked in shortly.

This is a strange possibility since Frodo couldn’t possibly appear until the very end of the second part of the movies. It’s possible, but my guess is he won’t be back, and if he is, he’d have to play an older relative of Frodo. In any case I don’t think he should, it’s just unnecessary. What do you think?

If A Celeb ‘Dies’ In The Twitterverse, Do They Make A Sound?

Kim Kardashian, Justin Timberlake, Usher and lots of other celebrities are not posting to their Twitter or Facebook accounts in support of Alicia KeysKeep A Child Alive drive to raise $1,000,000 in recognition of World AIDS Day on December 1st.

“It’s really important and super-cool to use mediums that we naturally are on,” Keys said. “It’s so important to shock you to the point of waking up. [...] It’s not that people don’t care or it’s not that people don’t want to do something, it’s that they never thought of it quite like that.”

The stars are staying digitally silent until the goal is reached but 3 days later and the total is nowhere near the million dollar mark. So what gives? Or more accurately what is preventing everyone from ponying up the cash?

I wonder if it’s simply that we are so over saturated by many celebs who use those pages as another kind of commercial to push yet another product, that as a group we are tuning them out (even if we are following them online.) Let’s be honest, twitter and Facebook can be like background noise – it’s there and you know it, you just don’t fully focus your attention on it.

Of course there is also the point that by making the stars give up their primary means of communication, you don’t have the 100 tweets and retweets a day reminding you to give up the cash.

I guess the thought was the silence would be deafening…? This could take a while.
