She’s building her own billion dollar fashion empire at an incredible pace and now Jessica Simpson joins NBC’s reality TV show, Fashion Star, to offer advice to aspiring designers.

The 30 year-old Dukes of Hazzard actress will mentor contestants on the Elle MacPherson-hosted show where 14 fashion designers vie for the opportunity to bring their designs to a major retailer.

A weekly fashion show plus the chance for viewers to purchase the winning looks sets it apart from it’s biggest competitor, Project Runway.

Simpson’s role will be similar to that of PR’s Tim Gunn, but will she be able to be entertaining, witty and offer constructive criticism in the role without coming across as the ditzy blonde that launched her into super stardom on the MTV series Newlyweds with her then husband Nick Lachey.

Whatever you think of Jessica’s role in her namesake fashion line – how much decision-making does she really do – she has enough smarts to have signed on to the idea at a bare minimum. Hopefully what she has to offer really translates well for the contestants success.

How she comes across will be another matter entirely.

Elle MacPherson looked like a tall, cool glass of water at the NBC upfronts.   She is still totally fabulous at age 47.

Elle was on hand to promote her new reality fashion design show, Fashion Star.  It’s a competition show in which aspiring designers take on weekly design challenges and are eliminated one by one.  If you think that sounds a lot like Project Runway, you’d be correct.   Hey, if it worked for Heidi Klum and Bravo, it might work for Elle and NBC, right?  Supposedly what sets Fashion Star off from Project Runway is that the clothes are intended to be more “accessible,” aka stuff people might actually wear.

Look for Elle’s new show on NBC in 2012.

Elle MacPherson was at Timbaland’s release of Shock Value II at LIV night club at Fontainebleau down in Miami Beach this weekend.  As Elle posed for the cameras, she pulled it all off… As in, the whole outfit, down to her lime green toenails.  Elle is one of those beauties that could wear a garbage bag and make it look HOT.

Elle MacPherson ruled the red carpet at the CW Network’s Upfront 2009, held at Madison Square Garden in New York.   She looks freaking incredible!   This dress is simple and sophisticated but plenty sexy.  I love that she chose to accessorize so sparely- just big sunglasses and a cool chunky watch.   Well played!

It’s interesting how Angelina Jolie is often just as simply attired, but manages to look harsh rather than hot.  Is it in the attitude, I wonder?  Regardless, whatever Elle is doing, she should keep it up.

Elle Macpherson was spotted making her way home after taking her kids to school in London, England today. I want to know how this 45-year old does it. She looks great!

Up next for Elle? An American TV show called, A Beautiful Life. Elle plays a model turned agent in the show, which is a satirical take on the fashion industry set in New York. I can see that she would be able to pull off that role. Besides she has appeared in movies before. Hopefully it will air soon.

First of all, how does she do it?!  How can Elle Macpherson possibly have ever had a baby in that body of hers?  Maybe they were actually adopted?  Just kidding!  I know she is truly a mom. It’s just tough to believe when you see her amazing body like that!

Elle was down in Australia enjoying the beach with one of her boys and some friends.  Can she really be 46 years old?  She must work very hard to keep that body, either that or she’s VERY lucky! And yes, I am very jealous.

Elle MacPherson attended the Women’s World Awards Gala in Vienna, Austria on Thursday, where she was awarded the World Career Award.  She should have received an award for the dress she chose!  This color green seems made for her, and I love how simple yet original it is.

You might not be able to see it in the pictures, but instead of some monster stilettos like everyone’s wearing on the red carpet these days, Elle chose a pair of flip flops.  I am sure they were couture/designer flip flops, but still – that’s a girl after my own heart!

Elle MacPherson, looking hot at 44, showed off her bikini yesterday on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.

According to an onlooker, Elle spent part of the time flirting with one of her boating mates, Dave Evans, who happens to be the first lead singer of AC/DC and the owner of Hugo’s.

It looks like she had a lot of fun on the boat, and if I had a body like that I would be sure to show everyone what it looked like in a bikini.

There’s nothing like seeing a beautiful woman like Elle MacPherson looking great while surfing in Australia. The cowboy hat cutie decided to catch some waves and then take off with a female companion and give us all her million dollar smile.

I want to look like her for Christmas, I hope Santa can fill that request for me!
