Sacha Baron Cohen star of the upcoming film Bruno was an award presenter tonight on the MTV Movie Awards. He “flew in” on wires and ended up being lowerd down into the audience, right on top of Eminem. Not only did he land on the star, but he landed with his crotch and rear end directly in Eminem’s face. Needless to say Eminem was not happy, he started cursing and they pulled him off of the rapper. He stormed out of the building.

All things considered Eminem stayed pretty calm, I wouldn’t have wanted that in my face either. This is another example of the crass and bizarre behavior that makes Cohen’s work popular. But he may have just made an enemy for life.

Eminem has been dealing with some pretty serious addiction problems as of late, including booze, prescription medicine and methodone. I can’t say that this revelation surprised me at all, but what IS very interesting is whom he chose as a sobriety coach: Sir Elton John.
The Sun UK reports that the rapper “has confessed that Sir Elt is the unlikely character responsible for helping him conquer his drug demons.”
“I talk to Elton a lot. We became friends, and I talk to him about things, career-wise. He had a substance-abuse problem in the past. So when I first wanted to get sober, I called him, because he’s somebody in the business… who can relate to the lifestyle and how hectic things can be.
He understands, like, the pressure and any other reasons that you wanna come up with for doing drugs. So I told him, ‘Look, I’m going through a problem, and I need your advice.”
This is an unlikely pairing, but I have to thank Elton for helping get Eminem back on track. Em’s new album, aptly but sadly titled Relapse, hits stores in the U.S. this week. Check out the video for his new track “3 AM” here.

Eminem’s new single out of his new album is “3 AM”. Another one of those songs by Eminem that still sounds so 1999 – I mean he seriously needs to improve, reinvent himself and surprise us with something fresh.
The first single off his album “Relapse”, which is set to be released on May 19, was “We Made You” (watch video here>>).

The day that Eminem takes a bold step away from making the same video EVERY TIME, will be a glorious day in the music video world. I’ve simply stopped hoping for it, and I’m starting to think you, and you, should as well.
It’s not to say that his new vid clip for his latest single “We Made You” isn’t lost in humor (it’s definitely hilarious), it’s just… the same as virtually every music video he’s done. A Weird Al Yankovic-meets-mainstream brand of visual.
Bret Michaels, fittingly so, is obviously the target of Em’s jokes (and he strangely looks EXACTLY LIKE HIM), along with:

FINALLY! A trimmed-down Eminem is seen in his most-recent publicity shot can proudly stand behind a release date, that packs a promise for a sequel by the end of the year.
Relapse will be hitting shelves May 19th, with its follow-up, Relapse 2, dropping before the close of 2009. INTERESTING!
While “Crack a Bottle” has been doing okay on the charts (currently seated at a comfortable #8 on the Billboard charts) , the first official single and video will be premiering April 7th.

If you haven’t already heard, the hiatus of Eminem is coming to a close with the release of his Dr. Dre-crafted album Relapse (still without a release date) and while talking with BBC radio, he mentioned that he’s ready to “get back out there”– but don’t get it twisted, it’s not for the fame this time around. At least not completely.
His new album’s purpose is really to remind people that he can still bring it (and hip hop heads agree, having just voted Em the Best Rapper alive in Vibe magazine’s latest poll).
“That’s probably what I take pride in most. … But, at the end of the day, it’s kind of catch-22. I love the attention, but I don’t like too much of it. … There’s no desire to be that big again. Whatever happens, I’ll take it, but that’s definitely not what I’ll be recording the songs for.”

Robin Thicke sat down with Billboard magazine to promote the release of his new album Something Else and among discussions of race, and the label “blue-eyed soul” he described a recent interview with Vibe magazine:
When I did a recent interview with Vibe magazine I asked, “Why can’t I get the cover? This is a magazine I love. If there’s one magazine that I’d want to be on the cover of, it’s Vibe.” Their response was they don’t have white artists on the cover; that the only white artist they’ve had on the cover was Eminem. I guess if that’s what it is, it is what it is. And I respect that because I live in a house with a black woman.
I won’t use the word “racism.” I will say it’s a toughbut rewardingfight.
I’m sorry, but can we honestly say if someone like Mary J. Blige was interviewed by Billboard and told they only feature white artists on their cover, her response could have, or would have been “if that’s what it is, it is what it is.”
Somebody just canceled their subscription.

The cover art and publishing rights have been floating around for awhile now (and I believe the book’s even been sold in Canada), but Debbie Nelson, better known as the pill-popping, lawsuit-filing mother to rap genius Eminem, is officially heading to book stores near you.
The tale details a lot of Marshall Mathers pre-fame life, saying that the two were famously close, that Em was the result of severe bullying through school, and that she ultimately regrets keeping her mouth shut during a lot of the rapper’s earlier career years.
She says he grew from a perfect baby who never cried to a troubled child with a temper who was terribly shy around strangers and other kids, preferring to play with his imaginary friend, Casper. People often referred to Em as a “monster,” she says, recalling when he destroyed a store display and lay spread-eagle across an aisle screaming and when he pulled an old lady’s hair and threw food around at a restaurant where his mother worked.
Because he was small, he was often bullied at school. When he was 9, he was beat so badly he lost consciousness and was hospitalized for four days for a cerebral hemorrhage and had to relearn how to tie his shoes and pour cereal in a bowl. When Em referred to the incident in the song “Brain Damage,” his tormentor DeAngelo Bailey tried to sue him for $1 million.
Nelson says Marshall clung to her when she dropped him off, often faking illnesses to get out of going to school and once smashing his arm through a glass door and cutting a main artery in his wrist in a panic when he thought she was leaving the house without him. He eventually made what she calls a miraculous recovery from his brain injury, but when doctors warned that another blow to the head could kill him, she made him wear a football helmet to play outside.
During his rise to fame with The Slim Shady LP in 1999, Eminem was so strung out on drugs and alcohol that he later confessed to his mother that he couldn’t recall much of anything about that year not his hit singles, his concerts or even his first wedding to his on-and-off first love, Kim Scott. Seriously though, how convenient that the book’s finally coming out just as Eminem announces he’s working on his new album. So sad. Why won’t this woman just fade away already?

Eminem has been out of the public eye for some time, but he’s been forced back in by a lawsuit.
A man named Miad Jarbou says the rapper clocked him on July 13, 2006 in the bathroom of the Cheetah’s On The Strip Gentlemen’s Club in Detroit. He did not file charges at the time, but is now seeking over $25,000 in damages.
The Michigan statute of limitations for assault or battery is two years - looks like Jarbou made it in just under the wire.

WTF? Is this a joke? Nelson Mandela wants Eminem to perform for him on his 90th birthday. Eminem, a guy who’s notorious for rapping about raping and beating his girlfriend and stuffing her into a trunk.
This, my friends, is the Twilight Zone.
The Sun reports that the white rapper has been confirmed to make his comeback at Mandela’s party.
An inside source said, Were amazed to have Eminem on board. We wanted some of the greatest artists from recent times and Eminem was on the list.”

Since the success of the battle of the rap stars Kanye West and 50 Cent, Celebrity Babylon is reporting that superproducer Timbaland is calling out Dr Dre and Jay-Z is looking at Eminem.
Also tossing his rap cap into the ring is Jay-Z, who states he would like to throw down an album battle with Eminem.
Great match-ups. Let’s see if they go thru with it.

The rapper claims to have had a brief sexual relationship with the diva in 2001 and has mocked her ever since.
He now plans to reveal intimate details of the affair on his latest album.A source told America’s OK! magazine: “There is more than one track that goes into really specific, intimate detail about what went on between Em and Mariah.”
The ‘Butterflies’ singer is so desperate to keep Eminem quiet she reportedly approached L.A. Reid, the head of her record label Island Def Jam, begging him to intervene.
The source added: “Mariah wishes she could sue Eminem for slander, but it’s his freedom of speech.”
When the ‘Slim Shady’ rapper first claimed to have bedded the singer he released voice messages, allegedly from her, of a woman pleading: “Why won’t you see me? Why won’t you call me?”
Mariah has always denied the affair.
She recently said: “Something is clearly askew with him. I’m curious as to why he’s so obsessed with me.”
