Picture this:  Eva Mendes as a nun.  Ridiculous, right?  And yet, that was her childhood dream – at least until she found out just how much money women in religious orders make, or rather, don’t make.  She said:

“We didn’t grow up with a lot of money so I would always tell my mum, ‘Mummy I am going to buy you a big house when I grow up, and a car.’   And my sister said to me one day when I was ten, ‘How are you going to buy mum all these things? You are going to be a nun and nuns don’t get paid.’

“I said, ‘What?’ and that was it, my convent dreams were over.”

She looks very old-Hollywood – Sophia Loren or Gina Lollobrigida in this. She just needs a leopard print bathing suit and cat eye sunglasses to complete the look.

Eva Mendes and Will Ferrell on the Spanish TV show, El Hormiguero over in Madrid, Spain, promoting The Other Guys.  This movie looks great and I can’t wait to see it.

Eva Mendes and Mark Wahlberg looked fabulous at the photocall for Very Bad Cops in Paris.  The Ritz hotel hosted the event.   Eva is absolutely glowing.  That almost looks like a pregnancy glow.  I haven’t heard any of those rumors yet… we shall see.  Mark naturally looks delicious.  He always does, right?

Eva Mendes gave a great interview for W Magazine chatting about how she sees herself as a sex symbol and she’s proud of it.  Eva has nothing to hide and it shows.  She also talked about babies or no babies.  She’s quite secure in her relationship of eight long years, but for now, she’d still undecided.

Eva Mendes is the latest celebrity to slap their name on some stuff and hope to make money off of it.  Last week she launched the Vida by Eva Mendes bedding collection at Macy’s Herald Square in New York.   The collection is supposedly “Latin inspired” but I must be missing something.  But, if you love the idea of sleeping under a comforter with Eva’s name on it, it can be yours for around $385!

It looks like Calvin Klein has decided to take their ads in a different direction, they are following in the footsteps of the hot Armani ads by David and Victoria Beckham.

Eva Mendes looks good in these nearly naked ads with model Jamie Dornan. They have some fierce chemistry in these pictures. This is the photo shoot for the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. I can’t wait to see them hit the magazines.

“Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Underwear are both such iconic American brands, that to play a part in these campaigns is a true honor,” Dornan says. “Working alongside the sensationally sexy Eva Mendes on both shoots was incredible.”

Eva Mendes says that she is so petrified of spiders that when she was little she would make the rest of her family kill them for her.

“Spiders scare me a lot, ever since I was a little girl. If I ever saw one I would have a physical reaction and just freak out. I was like that up until about a year ago. If I saw a spider I would have to have somebody kill it and even then I could not take their word for it. I would have to see the dead carcass before I could relax.”

I know that I’m not scared of snakes or lizards but spiders scare the heck out of me. I don’t blame Eva for acting that way.

Even stars need someone to look up to and inspire them.� And for Eva Mendes, that inspiration is Kate Winslet.

Here’s why:

I would steal Kate Winslet�s roles. All her roles. Don�t talk to me about it because she can do no wrong in my eyes….Her choices are impeccable. She literally can do anything. If she can just give me two of her roles, I�d be happy.

So now I’m sitting here trying to imagine Eva Mendes playing Marianne Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility.� Yeahhhhhhhh, no.

But Eva’s admiration goes beyond just Kate’s considerable acting skills.

Not only is she the most amazing actress in the entire world, she�s nude in a lot of her films which shows she�s just fearless.

Oh, is THAT all it takes to be fearless?� So if getting naked is what it’s all about, what’s stopping Eva?
