Evangeline Lilly managed to be both sexy and covered up at the Universal City Walk Cinemas premiere of Real Steel on Sunday afternoon.

The 32 year-old actress, who just gave birth to a baby boy five months ago, was stunning in a white gown with plunging neckline and thigh high slit. Lilly opted for a black leather belt and clutch to complete her red carpet look.

This marks a return to the spotlight by the reluctant LOST star who dropped out of site after her hit TV show went off the air.

Lilly is signed on to director Peter Jackson‘s new Tolkien project The Hobbit, which will be two films. The actress will spend about a year in New Zealand filming and plays Tauriel, an elf character created by Jackson for the movies.

Lost star Evangeline Lilly has been cast as an elf in the upcoming film The Hobbit! The word came from Peter Jackson himself on his Facebook page today:

Evangeline Lilly will be playing a new character—the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means ‘daughter of Mirkwood’ and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.) What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life.

I love Evangeline, I’m so glad she got this part. It’s certainly an interesting choice on Peter Jackson’s part, given the fact that the character wasn’t in the book. Obviously there will be a lot added to the story since this will be two movies based on a much shorter book than any one of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. In any case I’m sure Lilly will fill the role quite well, she’s great!

News of Evangeline Lilly‘s pregnancy just leaked last month, and it was evidently more advanced than we guessed:  the Lost actress gave birth to a baby boy.  That’s about all we know, though:  she has not released any information about exactly when, where or what she has named him.

Her boyfriend, Norman Kali, who was a production assistant on Lost,  is presumably the father, but she hasn’t confirmed that either.

Congratulations to the secretive new mom!

Evangeline Lilly is reportedly pregnant with her first child.

Photos of the former LOST star have surfaced with Lilly having a decided pregnancy bump and while her reps won’t comment, the photos are clear (see the US Magazine pic here.)

Lilly, 31, has been dating a production assistant from the show, Norman Kali. The actress was previously involved with costar Dominic Monaghan for 5 years while the show was still airing.

The very private actress has said she was not terribly interested in an acting career and considered it a “day job.”

She and Kali are living in Hawaii.

Evangeline Lilly looked amazing at the premiere of Looking For Eric today at the Cannes Film Festival. I know that I have been doing only posts from there, but really it’s the place to be. The dress Evangeline has on is breathtaking, I wish I knew who made it because I want one for myself.

I am still bummed that Lost won’t be returning until January of 2010. How am I going to live that long? I need to know what happened. (Okay, I haven’t seen the season finale yet but I know in true Lost fashion it has one heck of a cliffhanger. I’m sure that’s the only way that they get away with the almost year hiatus.)

Beauty company L’Oreal has named Evangeline Lilly and Freida Pinto as their new celebrity faces.

Lost actress Lilly says that she is excited to

“represent a brand whose ambition is to respond to every person’s aspirations to beauty.”

Slumdog Millionaire star Pinto is equally pleased:

“I am very moved to be joining the great L’Oreal Paris family and all these personalities: a family I am now proud to be a part of.”

It’s no surprise that L’Oreal would hire these two:  both of these women are gorgeous!   Congrats Evangeline and Freida!

Lost star Evangeline Lilly is the latest celebrity to both start a clothing line and support a pet charity project.  In fact, she’s killing both those birds with one stone.

Lilly has started a lingerie line called R*Favela, which is made in Brazil.  The items are sold on eBay and all proceeds go to support a nonprofit called Task Brazil.  This charity

provides housing, aid and guidance to children and teens living on the streets of the South American nation.

Lilly says:

“Here on eBay I’m offering beautiful, Brazilian-made lingerie as a fun, enticing way for you to not only invest in yourself but in the poor and abandoned children of Brazil.”

Good for you, Evangeline!  Who would have thought the LiveLinks girl would someday be able to do so much good for the world?

Evangeline Lilly is one of my favorite Canadians. And this is why…she looks stunning at on the red carpet the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday night at the NOKIA Theater in Los Angeles. She could easily sweep the awards by just her looks.

I used to like Evangeline Lilly until I heard this….She says surfing and “Lost” has ruined her skin…

“Last season of the show I surfed constantly, which was cathartic for me, but the sun and salt water wreaked havoc with my skin so, for the first time in my life, I had skin problems. I ended up wearing a full face of pink pure zinc to protect it. I looked ridiculous with this bright pink face but I just wanted to surf!”

I can’t help but think that spending time at the beach would be a great trade off. Evangeline I’ll trade places with you any time!
