Thoughts: This is a biopic that seems as if it should have come out a long time ago, but I’m glad it’s now since Hilary Swank is playing Amelia. I have minor fears of this movie being boring, but I’m pretty sure it will be good.

This looks like one of the most bizarre films in a long time and it’s based on a true story! Look for it in theaters in February of 2010.

Here’s the full theatrical trailer for the upcoming film Amelia starring Hilary Swank.

I’m amazed that there hasn’t been a major theatrical release about Amelia Earhart. This movie does look like it will be good, but I can’t say it has anywhere near the draw of a movie like The Aviator. Regardless, this is something to see with a cast like this.

Looks more interesting to me now than it did before, I didn’t even know that Ewan McGregor was in the movie until I saw this trailer.�

Roman Polanski‘s new film The Ghost will now also star Timothy Hutton from Leverage. He Joins Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan.

The film, which begins shooting this week in Berlin, tells the tale of a ghostwriter (Ewan McGregor) who is hired to complete the memoirs of a former British prime minister (Pierce Brosnan). When he uncovers secrets, his own life is put in jeopardy.

Hutton plays the role of the prime minister’s American lawyer. Tom Wilkinson, James Belushi and Kim Cattrall also are in the cast.

Polanski recently lost his attempt to come back to the USA, thankfully he’s still allowed to make movies. This one sounds good. Great cast!

When a local Texas policeman, Steve Russell (Jim Carrey), turns to cons and fraud to allow him to change his lifestyle (in more ways than one), his subsequent stay in the state penitentiary results in his meeting the love of his life, a sensitive fellow inmate named Phillip Morris, perfectly portrayed by Ewan McGregor. What ensues can only be described as a relentless quest as Russell attempts escape after escape and executes con after con, all in the name of love. This is the world of the preposterous: it plays like a farce but is vastly�entertaining�because it turns all that we take for granted about life on its head. As a primer on the irresistible power of a man who is either insane or in love (is there a difference?), I Love You Phillip Morris surely serves to remind us of the resilience of the human spirit.

Looks unique to be sure. I really like Ewan McGregor, hope it’s good.�

The movie is a true story of Steven Russell (Jim Carrey), a married father whose exploits landed him in the Texas criminal justice system. He fell madly in love with his cellmate (Ewan McGregor), who eventually was set free, which led Russell to escape from Texas prisons four times.
