Looks like Freida Pinto may become the next Bond girl.

A source close to the set says, “Freida came to the attention of the Bond team when they were casting Quantum of Solace. She was too young at the time to have a part as a love interest for a secret agent.”

“But she has blossomed into an incredibly stunning young woman and would look perfect on Daniel Craig’s arm. “Danny Boyle is the favorite to take the helm of the next movie, which would increase Freida’s chances of a starring role.”

She’d be great as a Bond girl, great actress.

Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto was catapulted to the spotlight by the movies director, Danny Boyle, who knew immediately he wanted Freida to star in his movie the first time he saw her. The 24 year-old actress was born Mumbai, India and first started her career as a model (modeling photos here>>) even if she always knew she wanted to be act.

Freida Pinto on outlasting the protracted auditioning process: Danny [Boyle] said that when he first saw me on tape he pretty much knew he was going to cast me, but we needed to go through auditioning to be sure, says Pinto. So it took me six months of auditioning to get the part. By the fourth month I started getting obsessed with the role. Every time I met my friends I would read lines from the script!

I havent actually seen the movie yet but its getting amazing reviews and is a potential candidate for an Oscar this year.

Slumdog Millionare continued its growing snowball of awards with the DGA (Directors Guild of America) award for best picture going to Danny Boyle.

Danny Boyles film just received the top honor from the Directors Guild Of America Saturday night. It beat outThe Curious Case of Benjamin Button, TheDarkKnight, Frost/Nixon, and Milk for the award, making the road to the Oscar seem a lot less difficult.

DGA winners always do well at the Academy Awards, mainly because the voting pool is made up of a lot of the same members.

The chances of Danny Boyle winning the Oscar for best director is ever more likely.
