This movie looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun, such a strange concept. It’s amazing that the government really had/has this program at all.

For nearly a decade, the Coen brothers, Joel and Ethan, have been able to convince George Clooney to fill the role of the “idiot” in their movies. There was the philandering Harry Pfarrer in Burn After Reading, Miles the love sick divorce lawyer in Intolerable Cruelty, and Everett the escaped con in O Brother, Where Art Thou? But don’t be expecting any more of that from Clooney, he’s over it.
“Right after he wrapped on Burn After Reading, and he [Clooney] was on his way home, he said to us, ‘That’s it boys, I’ve played my last idiot!’” Ethan said.
“Some people have the chops to play great idiots,” Joel added. “George is one of those people.”
They do have a point. George was the highlight in all three of those movies, playing the slightly off center fool for the Coen brothers play with. It’s too bad he won’t be returning to that type of role, at least not with the Coen brothers.

This trailer makes me want to see it even more, it really looks like a unique piece of work. I’ll be watching this one opening weekend without a doubt.

George Clooney is starring in a new film called The American and shooting is just starting up.
The screenplay by Rowan Joffe is adapted from Martin Booth’s novel A Very Private Gentleman, published in 2005. The film’s producers are This is that’s Anne Carey, who most recently produced Adventureland and The Savages; Smokehouse’s Grant Heslov, an Academy Award nominee as producer and co-writer of Good Night, and Good Luck, and producer/director of this fall’s The Men Who Stare at Goats; Smokehouse’s Mr. Clooney; Ann Wingate, who most recently produced Into the Storm, starring Emmy Award winner Brendan Gleeson; and Jill Green, executive producer of the long-running U.K. television series Foyle’s War. Enzo Sisti, co-producer of the upcoming When in Rome, is executive producer of The American.
Alone among assassins, Jack (played by Mr. Clooney) is a master craftsman. When a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad, he vows to his contact Larry (Bruce Altman of this fall’s Peter and Vandy) that his next assignment will be his last. Jack reports to the Italian countryside, where he holes up in a small town and relishes being away from death for a spell. The assignment, as specified by a Belgian woman, Mathilde (Thekla Reuten of Focus’ award-winning In Bruges), is in the offing as a weapon is constructed. Surprising himself, Jack seeks out the friendship of local priest Father Benedetto (Italian screen and stage veteran Paolo Bonacelli) and pursues romance with local woman Clara (Italian leading lady Violante Placido). But by stepping out of the shadows, Jack may be tempting fate.
Sounds like it might be a really interesting movie. I’ve never read the book, but I did hear that it was good. Clooney seems like a really good choice for this movie, I think of him as a modern day Cary Grant.

What it’s about: A reporter, trying to lose himself in the romance of war after his marriage fails, gets more than he bargains for when he meets a special forces agent who reveals the existence of a secret, psychic military unit whose goal is to end war as we know it. The founder of the unit has gone missing and the trail leads to another psychic soldier who has distorted the mission to serve his own ends.

Thoughts: This movie looks so completely strange I can’t wait to see it. The cast is enough for me to want to see it alone, but it really looks funny! Sign me up.

While it is true that actor George Clooney had a bit of an accident while in Italy and broke his hand it did not happen while on his motorcycle. There had been rumors that he and his new girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis, were riding his motorcycle near Switzerland when he was in an accident with a car, and broke his hand. But that is not what happened according to his rep.
“There was an accident and he did break his hand,” Clooney’s rep Stan Rosenfield said Thursday. “He was not riding a motorcycle, it was not in Switzerland … He was on his property in Italy and he shut the car door on his hand.”
Um, ouch! Clooney was treated at a hospital in Switzerland, which is only a 40 minute drive from his home in Lake Como Italy.
“The doctor has given him 30-40 years more to live, and no live animals were harmed during the wrapping of the hand,” Rosenfield quipped.
So that’s how rumors get started. Luckily no one else was hurt. But dang! Closing the car door on your hand? That is just painful.

George Clooney is really pissed and frankly, I am too. TMZ is reporting that while he was at his home in Italy, paparazzi climbed over his privacy wall and took pictures of him with his girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis having some ‘private’ time together. Then the creep took pictures of a 13 year girl, in her bedroom, topless. Yeah, gross. These pics have been published in magazines.
George Clooney made this statement,
“We’re suing two magazines AND a photographer. I don’t know about the law in the United States but in Italy it’s illegal for photographers to climb over my wall and to take long lens pictures of a 13-year-old girl in her bedroom. I draw the line of privacy at that.”
Go get ‘em George! I hope you put those low-life’s out of business! They SO crossed the line!

George Clooney is locked in for two new upcoming films, A Very Private Gentleman and Men Who Stare at Goats.
Focus Features has set Clooney to star in “A Very Private Gentleman,” an adaptation of the Martin Booth novel to be directed by Anton Corbijn…
Clooney will play an assassin who hides out in an idyllic Italian town before carrying out a final assignment. He resists his usual aversion to human interaction, and his friendships and romantic entanglements complicate his mission…
Separately, in the first major pickup of the festival, Overture has grabbed domestic rights to war comedy “Men Who Stare at Goats,” featuring Clooney, Ewan McGregor,Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges and helmed by Heslov.
McGregor stars as a journalist who stumbles upon an ex-member (Clooney) of a secret U.S. Army unit that used paranormal tactics.
Both sound pretty intriguing. Clooney is practically swimming in work, hope the movies are good.

An new film entitled Up in the Air will star Jason Bateman.
An adaptation of the Walter Kirn novel, Jason Reitman (”Juno”) helms the film in which George Clooney stars as a corporate downsizer who is obsessed with collecting frequent flyer miles at the expense of having a life.
Sounds quirky, I wonder how Bateman will play opposite George Clooney.

On being back on the show:
I said from the beginning I would come back if George came back. But I was pretty sure George wasnt going to come back.
It felt as though a lifetime had happened since then.and nothing had happened since thenhalf the crew is still there, God bless them. We were all family. It was like coming home.
We wanted it quiet because neither George nor I wanted to sit on talk shows getting people to watch the final episode of ER.its the last thing George needs. Of course the day we get there, I could see a long lens outside the Warner Bros gate taking pictures of us walking to the set. Nothings sacred anymore.
On George Clooney:
I said, if you do it, Ill do it and he said well if you do, it Ill do it
I worked with George for two days and we had an amazing time.
On the story line:
Its not sensationalisticJohn [Wells, Executive Producer] stayed true to what my feeling was about the characters.
You pick up a slice of their life now. Its very satisfying
On Doug and Carol:
SPOILER ALERT: The couple has twin girls, now in fourth grade That could be a whole other show.
I am so anxious for this reunion! Watch on March 12th! I love Carol and Doug together! Perfect couple!!

George Clooney has told the press that he is scheduled to meet with President Barack Obama next week.
The hunky star, who is a United Nations Messenger of Peace, told Ann Curry of the Today Show:
“We want [the president] to appoint a high-level, full-time diplomat [to negotiate for a peace treaty in the war-torn Darfur region],” Clooney told Curry.
Clooney is sounding rather political there… I wonder if he has any aspirations to elected office?

I think one of the best known characters on ER (besides George Clooney) is Noah Wyle. He was always the constant in that show, and you knew when ever new characters came that he would always be there. I loved how they made him such a good person in the end.
And now we get to see his return…it was just going to be for three episodes but now since they have extended the season by three more episodes it will be a six episode arc. Does that mean that there is only six episodes left? I’m going to cry already!
I wonder if George will be teaming up with Noah in the show too. I’m so interested to see how they are adding them back in. I have a mad crush on David Lyons this season, I wish the show didn’t have to go. I have grown up with that show, I can’t imagine it not being around.
