Congratulations To Giuliana & Bill Rancic: A Baby Is On The Way

Like so many couples, Giuliana and Bill Rancic have struggled to become parents but their long wait is just about over.

The twosome have announced they are expecting a baby, via gestational surrogate this summer.

“We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered,” the E! News anchor and Fashion Police cohost exclusively tells E!Online.

Adds Bill, “We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey.”

Giuliana and Bill have been open about their struggles with conceiving, IVF treatments that didn’t work and a miscarriage. In October the couple’s struggles were added to with Giuliana diagnosis of breast cancer and her double mastectomy.

With all that behind them, the Rancic’s have a lot on their plate, still ahead of them. Besides a child on the way, the two are planning on renewing their vows this summer and will host the Eva Longoria produced, upcoming NBC dating show Ready For Love.

The 37 year-old mother-to-be appeared on the Today show early this morning and confirmed that they do know the sex of their baby, but aren’t revealing it just yet.

“[...]we’re seeing how long we can keep it secret,” Giuliana told host Ann Curry.

Giuliana Rancic Opens Up About Double Mastectomy Surgery

Giuliana Rancic

Faced with a diagnosis of breast cancer, E! TV host Giuliana Rancic elected to have a double mastectomy two weeks ago.  On Friday, she opened up to The Today Show‘s Matt Lauer about her surgery experience and her recovery.

“I knew this was going to be a tough surgery, but I in no way want to minimize it.  Yes, I’m two and a half weeks out, but up until a week and a half ago it was hell. It was horrible.”

Rancic explained that she had a bad reaction to the drugs given to her to minimize her pain.

“I went into surgery at 4 PM and got out around 9:30 PM.  By 4 AM I had to get off the morphine because I was so sick and I thought to myself, ‘[If you throw up] you have to engage all of your chest muscles,’ and I just had my chest operated on.”

She admits she has been relying heavily on her husband, Bill Rancic, to help her following the operation.

“I can’t really turn much to put my seatbelt on.  He has to help me get in and out of bed, get dressed…it’s a lot of limited mobility and pain.”

Despite it all, she continues to stay positive, saying that now she’s “feeling great.”

Giuliana Rancic Recovering After Double Mastectomy

Giuliana Rancic is recovering and “doing well” after undergoing surgery on Tuesday.

The E! News host had a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery performed this week after radiation treatment and lumpectomies failed to eradicate her breast cancer.

Rancic’s cancer was discovered when she was asked by her fertility doctor to take a precautionary breast exam earlier this year as part of the in vitro fertilization pre-screening process.

Her husband, Bill Rancic told E! News his wife was progressing well after the operation.

“G is doing really well,” he said. “Her surgery lasted about four hours and the doctors were very pleased with the result.”

Although he said she felt more pain than expected, Bill said she’s “already cracking jokes.”

Giuliana has tried to maintain a positive attitude throughout her illness and hopes to have better self-steem by the end.

‘Mastectomy’ the word seemed so scary to me at first. After doing research and seeing the advancements, the surgery has come a long way from 20 years ago,”she said.

“The results can be incredible. Not only can it save your life, but you can come out feeling healthier and with a positive self-image.”

Giuliana Rancic Has Scheduled A Double Mastectomy To Fight Breast Cancer

Giuliana Rancic has decided to have a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery next week.

The E! Fashion Police co-host has already had a double lumpectomy and radiation but not all the cancerous cells were able to be removed, prompting her to choose the mastectomy.

Giuliana told The Wendy Williams Show she believed she would feel better about herself after it was all done.

“Listen, I love my girls, but I’m gonna feel more like a woman when this is all done,” Rancic said.

She also shared she feels “scars are beautiful. I think scars tell a story.”

The 37 year-old found out she had breast cancer while undergoing screening tests for in vitro fertilization. She and her husband, Bill Rancic have been trying to have a child for a while with her first time sadly ending in miscarriage.

Bill and Giuliana appeared on The Today Show and he said the couple is hoping for a holiday free of cancer and surgeries.

“Our goal is to be done with this by Christmastime and not look back,” he said.

Giuliana is keeping her spirits up and has an upbeat attitude for the outcome.

“It’s important to me to get the cancer out…” she said. ‘Mastectomy’ the word seemed so scary to me at first. After doing research and seeing the advancements, the surgery has come a long way from 20 years ago.”

“The results can be incredible. Not only can it save your life, but you can come out feeling healthier and with a positive self-image.”

E! News host Giuliana Rancic appeared on NBC‘s Today Show and announced she has breast cancer.

Rancic and her husband, Bill Rancic, have been trying to have a baby and while Giuliana was undergoing in vitro fertilization treatments, a mammogram revealed the cancer.

“Through my attempt to get pregnant for the third time, we sadly found out that I have early stages of breast cancer,” she said on the Today show. “It’s been a shock. A lot of people have been asking, we saw that you went and got IVF, are you pregnant? But sadly, we’ve had to put that off because of the news.”

Giuliana said the cancer was caught in it’s early stages and her prognosis is good.

The 37 year-old Fashion Police host has had two attempts with in vitro before – her first pregnancy sadly ended in a miscarriage and the second try was unsuccessful.

“I still want this baby … because this baby has saved my life,” Rancic said. “I truly feel God was looking out after me … If I had gotten pregnant later down the line, I could have been a lot sicker.”

Giuliana said she will undergo surgery this week and radiation therapy will begin shortly after.
