Gwen Stefani has never made it any secret she is really concerned with her looks.

The 41 year-old lands the cover for Elle magazine’s May 2011 Women in Music issue and says she does love the way she looks.

“I mean, I’m very vain. That would be my middle name. Of course I am, you know what I mean? I love the visual,” Stefani tells Elle.

The No Doubt frontwoman pays attention to not only how she looks, but how other women in music are dressing as well. Facing the inevitable comparisions to Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, Stefani sees their style as much more sexual than hers.

“I don’t see myself in those girls. I usually put pants on,” the singer said. “I see these girls as more going for the sex-symbol thing. I was more, in the band, like a tomboy.”

“Of course, I think every girl is sexy, so there’s going to be a little of that,” she said. “But I see a lot of younger artists going more toward the sexy thing.”

The issue is on sale April 12th.

Gwen Stefani has been heavily influenced by Harajuku street style over the years and the singer is stepping up to the plate to help during Japan’s time of need.

The No Doubt front woman is donating $1 million to Save the Children’s Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund and will continue her efforts to raise money by launching a charity auction on the band’s website next week.

Stefani said “I’ve been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture. The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.”

Save The Children praised the singer for her donation.

“We are very grateful to have such a generous donation from Gwen Stefani for our relief efforts in Japan,” said Charles MacCormack, president and CEO of Save the Children  “Save the Children has been in Japan for 25 years and we are working closely with our teams on the ground to address the immediate and ongoing needs of children and their families whose lives were turned upside down by this tragedy.”

Stefani will auction off a chance to join her at a fundraising event in Los Angeles and she has designed a special limited edition Harajuku lovers t-shirt that you can purchase at NoDoubt’s website. 100% of the proceeds will go to Japan relief efforts.

Gwen Stefani closed out the Fall 2011 NY Fashion Week with her show for her design label L.A.M.B. and had a little surprise as she walked the runway.

As the show ended and Stefani headed down the catwalk wearing the final look (a one shouldered leopard jumpsuit)  her 4 year-old son Kingston yelled “Mommy!” and ran out to grab her hand and accompany her. So darn cute!

Glam girl Gwen Stefani is getting in on the cosmetics endorsement bandwagon by signing up with L’Oreal Paris. The mother to Kingston and Zuma said:

“I can’t believe I get to be one of the L’Oreal Paris girls. I love playing dress up, on stage or shooting videos, it’s always been one of my favorite parts of being in a band. To get to work with such a modern, talented group of people is really exciting. I’m a lucky, lucky girl,”

The “Wind It Up” singer joins Beyonce, Eva Longoria, Evangeline Lilly, and Penelope Cruz as the roster of beautiful spokesmodel.

Stefani’s first commercial is for the Infallible Le Rouge lip color that airs during Sunday’s (January 16th) Golden Globes ceremony.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale took their  sons Zuma and Kingston to a park in West Hollywood to enjoy the nice, Cali weather.  I have to say that I love Gwen’s outfit, like I always do. BUT, I so have to call her out for sitting on the slide!

I always hated that when someone would block the slide.  Not cool.  Total punk move.  But, her kids are adorable and her formerly gay husband is pretty cute too.  Ha!

The Rossdale clan, Gavin, Gwen Stefani and sons Kingston and Zuma were in Los Angeles over the weekend and the beautiful family paid their grandmother a visit. Kingston and Zuma were outside playing and got a ride in a little red wagon from Gavin as he pulled them along.

Gwen Stefani was spotted outside her parent’s house in Los Angeles wearing a very interesting outfit.  This momma of two has number three on the way and she’s doing it in style…. her style.  Who doesn’t love Gwen Stefani’s fashion statements?  Girl is always rockin’ whatever she throws on.  Okay, so the pants look like they’d be really annoying, like way too bulky around the thighs.  But how hot is that top?!   I have seen some seriously ugly maternity clothes and you know Gwen wouldn’t be caught dead in any of them!
