Tina Fey Covers InStyle Magazine, Sympathizes With Gwyneth Paltrow

Tina Fey lands on the cover of the April 2011 issue of InStyle.

The multi-talented Fey is not only writing and starring on TV’s 30 Rock, she has authored a book, Bossypants, out April 5th where she tackles her own life with her dead-on sense of humor.

While the actress may be in charge of somethings, Fey claims her daughter is the boss of her.

“My daughter. Kids are definitely the boss of you,” she said. “Anyone who will barge into the room while you are on the commode is the boss of you. And when you explain to them that you’re on the commode and that they should leave but they don’t? That’s a high-level boss.”

Although the 40 year-old comedienne jokes about her daughter’s ability to rule her even during a bathroom break, she isn’t all laughs about how harsh the internet critics can be.

“Any time you talk about being a working mother and you complain about it in any way, people eat your face,” she says. “I remember reading some interview where Gwyneth Paltrow said something like, ‘I missed my kids on the set one day and I was crying.’ And I thought, Yeah, I’ve totally done that.”

The 30 Rock star went on to say “But on the website where I read it there were these furious comments. ‘But you’re a movie star!’ Yes, it’s much worse for a mom serving in Afghanistan. Of course. But there’s just no forgiveness.”

For more of what Tina’s got to say, grab the issue on sale Friday.

Gwyneth Paltrow Grabs Good Housekeeping’s February Cover

Gwyneth Paltrow gets the Good Housekeeping seal of cover approval for February 2011.

The Iron Man star talks about Apple’s (well, Gwyn’s really) school skipping ways, her marriage to Coldplay’s Chris Martin and how they try to stay invisible to photographers and what the kids do know about her job:

On letting her daughter, 6, skip school:
“I’ll probably get kicked out of our school for admitting this, but I let Apple stay home yesterday. I just needed to be with her. We went out to lunch, we went to the beauty salon, we were together.”

On her marriage to Chris Martin:
“Marriage is hard. Chris and I have had our ups and downs, big-time. Marriage is way more complicated than just Who gets to control the remote? But hopefully we keep heading in the same direction and getting through the obstacles.”

On why they’re never photographed together:
“If I’m looking grumpy in public or if Chris and I leave a restaurant separately, it’s only because we don’t want to encourage photographers.”

On trying to shield her kids from fame:
Apple’s getting to the age now where people in her class know who we are. The other day I said to her, ‘What do you think I do?’ She said, ‘You’re a movie star.’ I was like, ‘Who told you that?’”

Paltrow’s issue of Good Housekeeping is on sale now.

Gwyneth Paltrow & Cee Lo Green On SNL Tonight

Gwyneth Paltrow hosts Saturday Night Live with Cee Lo Green as musical guest tonight on the NBC show.

We know Paltrow has some comedic and singing chops thanks to her guest appearance on Glee recently. Green has the ridiculously giddy “F You” song (covered by Paltrow on Glee – see that version here) and the Gnarls Barkley singer is certainly up for the musical spot – but will these two duet? And will it be on the infamous tell-off song that both have already done separately?

What do you hope to see tonight? Do you want them to duet or do you think it’s overkill?

‘Glee’ Grabs Gaga, Gwyneth And A Dash Of Chenowith

A gaggle of Glee goodies is gathering our way, fellow Gleeks.

Let’s start with Gwyneth Paltrow. Holly Holliday is heading back to William McKinley High School as a sex education teacher and she has the hots for Will (Matthew Morrison.) Creator Ryan Murphy told EW that she will start filming in January and the double dose of Holly is for episodes 15 and 16 airing in the spring.

Lady Gaga’s new single “Born This Way” hasn’t even been released but Murphy is working it into an episode around the bully, closeted gay teen character Karofsky (Max Adler.) Murphy said he loves the theme of the tune and wants to do something uplifting for a March or April episode that builds on the song’s message.

Lastly, April Rhodes will return! Kristen Chenowith will reprise her role as the once Broadway bound high school drop-out for a few episodes that close out season 2 of hit show.

Glee doesn’t return with new episodes until February 6th following the Super Bowl with a super-sized show. Sounds like a promising second half of it’s sophomore season.

Gwyneth Paltrow And Cee Lo On SNL & Recording Together

Gwyneth Paltrow’s magical performance of Cee Lo Green’s “F*** You” song on Glee got noticed by everyone, including Green.

While Paltrow did the radio and TV-friendly version “Forget You,” Cee Lo was very happy with her rendition. So much so, he says the two are recording together:

“I am actually supposed to go into the studio with her in the next few days. We are doing another personalized version of ‘Forget You and we may do something spontaneous,”

The two will also be paired up for Saturday Night Live on January 15th as Paltrow hosts and Green is the musical guest. A collaboration is expected and downright demanded, I might add.

In case you haven’t seen the three best versions, Cee’s, Gywn’s and the wacky William Shatner (yes!) check them below. The Cee Lo is uncensored so listen at your own risk.

Gwyneth Paltrow Enlists Robert Downey Jr’s Help Playing An Addict

The destructive behavior of an addict who leaves treatment too soon can shatter so many lives around that person. For her role in Country Strong, Gwyneth Paltrow plays Kelly, a country singer who gets out of rehab far too early, loses her sobriety and causes a lot of pain for those around her.

Paltrow says she had trouble understanding how a person gets to that point, wrecking others lives and going on as if nothing happened, so she called on her good friend, Robert Downey Jr. to give her some help. Downey’s troubles with substance abuse have been legendary over the years and the Iron Man actor was the perfect person to help Paltrow get to the heart and mind of an addict.

The actress said:

“…Then it was really when I got there and I had this scene, it’s sort of trimmed down a lot in the movie, but the night after I’ve done some horrific thing, I’ve wrecked people’s lives and I wake up and expect to just keep on going. I didn’t understand that. I understand addiction. I used to be very addicted to cigarettes for example, so I understood the idea of I know this is bad for me and it causes cancer and my dad has throat cancer but I’m going to smoke it anyway, that disconnect or self destructiveness. I couldn’t understand it to the point of wrecking someone else’s life. So I e-mailed Robert Downey Jr. and I was like, “Just explain to me how this goes. I don’t get it. You spend a night where you lie and cheat and there’s no consequence and you barf and you can kill someone. Then you get up and have a coffee? How does that work?” He wrote me back the most amazing e-mail and he just explained the psychology of it so well. So he really helped me with that.”

Paltrow’s performance, along with costars Garrett Hedlund, Leighton Meester and Tim McGraw opens in limited release today (Dec 22nd) and goes to more screens in January.

Gwyneth Paltrow Is ‘Country Strong’

Stylish and super elegant, Gwyneth Paltrow dazzled on the red carpet for a screening in Los Angeles of Country Strong.

Paltrow got her sleek groove on in an all white Pucci dress with open back – awesome dress on her! Her costar, Leighton Meester took it short and flirty in a pink ruffly Christian Dior with orange platforms. She had a very cute, summery vibe although it is winter, even in L.A.

Costars Garrett Hedlund, Tim McGraw and his wife Faith Hill gave great fashion efforts for the night as well.

Gwyneth Paltrow Gets Her Star On Hollywood Walk of Fame

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow received the 2,427th star on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday December 13th. Paltrow’s friends and costars came out to cheer her on: Matthew Morrison from Glee and Country Strong costar Tim McGraw and his wife, Faith Hill posed happily with Gwyn.

Gwyneth Paltrow Sings Her Way Through ‘Glee’ Tonight

Gwyneth Paltrow is set to make a splash tonight on ‘Glee.’ The Iron Man star is headed to the New Directions choir room after Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) takes ill and hallucinates kid/mini-me versions of his teenage class (see the adorable photo and video here.) Paltrow steps in as Holly Holliday in “The Substitute” and busts out a terrific version of Cee Lo’s “F— You.” The song is changed to pass censors and “Forget You” gets the entire group involved, except a very unhappy Rachel (Lea Michele.) We also know she performs a mash-up of Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Mr. Schu joins in with Gene Kelly’s “Singing In The Rain.”

For the record, Cee Lo says he is flattered that the Oscar winning actress is taking his song on.

“I didn’t realize when we first did the clearances for it,” he revealed. “I just thought that maybe it would be sung by the cast, but [it] turns out to be her. I’m like, ‘That’s just, that’s too awesome.’ “

Gwyneth Paltrow Pimps Workout DVD, Dishes On Losing Baby Weight

Gwyneth Paltrow is helping her personal trainer Tracy Anderson sell workout DVDs.   She has provided quasi-inspiring commentary which will appear on the upcoming Tracy Anderson Post-Pregnancy Workout DVD, in stores later this month.

Gwyneth says that losing the weight after baby #2 was

“by far the hardest thing I have ever done.  After my first pregnancy, the weight had come off a little bit better but after the second one it was really stubborn. It was really hanging on. It was not easy.

“But I really was seeing results so it motivated me to just work through it. Every woman can make time — every woman — and you can do it with your baby in the room.  There’ve been countless times where I’ve worked out with my kids crawling around all over the place. You just make it work.”

Sure, Gwynnie.  Every women can make time by just making it work.  You made it work by calling your nanny into the room to come watch your kids crawling around so you could finish your workout.  I hate it when celebrities talk like they’re just normal, everyday people.  It’s like, “Let them eat cake.”  (And speaking of cake, I am especially icked out by Gwyneth and her whole new kitchen goddess ca-ca.  Ick.)
