In between filming various scenes, the kids of the Harry Potter films have taken up playing ping pong. Emma Watson has gotten very good and now no one will throw down with her for fear of embarassment when she beats them soundly.

Rupert Grint - who plays Ron Weasley - says, “I’ve got a table tennis on set and we’re always playing between scenes.

Dan (Radcliffe) has been have a few lucky months and we’ve both been getting really good but Emma is brilliant. We rarely play her now because it gets quite embarrassing.”

Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince is due in theaters in the US November 21, 2008. The final installment of the series, The Deathly Hallows, will be split into two films.

The sixth installment of the lucrative Harry Potter franchise was interrupted and filming halted briefly by two male streakers who zipped past stars Daniel Radcliffe and Helena Bonham Carter.

Stars Daniel Radcliffe and Helena Bonham Carter retreated to their caravans while security chased the pair off.

But once filming resumed on The Deathly Hallows, the duo crept back and made monkey noises at the location shoot in Farnham, Surrey.

This is kinda funny. What kind of security doesn’t remove them completely so they can come back and make monkey noises?

Robert Pattinson, best known as Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, has signed on to play the lead in the teen vampire movie Twilight, based on the Stephanie Meyer series of books.

The actor will play Edward, a teenaged vampire who falls for a non-vampire high school classmate (Kristen Stewart). Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen) is directing from a script by Melissa Rosenberg (Step Up) based on Stephanie Meyer’s young-adult novel. Meyer also wrote two sequels and Summit hopes to turn Twilight into a franchise. Pattinson has also been cast as Salvador Dali in the upcoming Little Ashes, APT Films’ project about Spanish writers, artists, and filmmakers in the 1920s.

Looks like he is a young actor with quite a bit on his plate.

Daniel Radcliffe,17, has been seen enjoying the company of actress Laura O’Toole, 22. The two met while in the West End production of the controversial play, Equus, that starred Radcliffe. O’Toole was an understudy.

A source said: “Everyone in the cast of Equus got on terribly well but they are closer in age than most of the other actors so it was no surprise they bonded.”

Another added: “It is certainly a budding friendship. They have become very close.”

Miss O’Toole, who made her name six years ago in the Irish TV series On Home Ground on RTE, so impressed producers of Equus that she will now play the female lead opposite Lily Allen’s brother Alfie when the play goes on a UK tour next year.

Radcliffe, who will get £25 million for starring in the final two Harry Potter movies, is set to open in the play in New York next year.

Earlier this year, Radcliffe let it be known he was looking for a girlfriend, but said he wouldn’t date an actress because they are “completely barking.” Never say never, especially in print.

Saturday saw the debut of the Kids Choice Awards by UK Nickelodeon and Emma Watson, of Harry Potter fame, was named Best Actress by the online voting kids.

“This is so cool. I’m so thrilled,” the 17-year-old Harry Potter star said.

Watson – who was wearing a gold-sequined top and Diesel jeans – beat out Cameron Diaz, Dakota Fanning and Keira Knightley for the award.

No green slime poured on anyone which is a shame.

Harry Potter actress Emma Watson, 17, says her Dad is adament on giving her an allowance, keeping her in check. The actress is worth millions and cannot touch her fortune until she is 21. Her dad helps her feel normal by treating her as a regular teenager.

‘He insists. And to be honest, I appreciate that. It makes me feel more normal.’

She says her dad does not want her to be spoiled and live a crazy life. Why aren’t all the momagers and dadagents of celebrity kids like that?

Author J.K. Rowling has spent the last seventeen years writing the best selling ‘Harry Potter’ books.  So it is natural that she feels a part of her life is missing now that it has all come to an end.

“At the moment, it feels great, to be honest with you … a big sense of achievement,” Rowling, who turns 42 on July 31, tells Meredith Vieira for a series of interviews to air on NBC’s Today show this week and during a one-hour Dateline special Sunday.

But, according to excerpts released by the network, “I am sad. But I’ve been sadder. I need to be off … writing,”

Rowling is so creative that I don’t think we have heard the last from her and her word processor.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows sold 8.5 million copies in the U.S. during the first 24 hours it went on sale.
