First Clips from Heath Ledger’s Final Film ‘Imaginarium’

heath_ledger_parnassus2

Here are three of the very first clips from Heath Ledger‘s final film before his untimely death. The First clip from The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus features Ledger. The other two introduce other characters and show off some of the special effects we can expect.

This movie looks like it’s going to be very bizarre and good. Ledger was a truly gifted actor I’m sure this movie will be a great final illustration of that.

Adrien Brody Was Originally Up For The Joker In The Dark Knight

Adrien Brody Catches A BBall Game

Adrien Brody was spotted going into the Staples Center in Los Angeles today to watch a game of basketball. It seems like everyone was at that game.

While researching Adrien today I found out something that would have totally changed the world as we know it. Adrien was originally up for the role of The Joker in The Dark Knight. If that would have happened that movie would have been really different. I can’t see him as The Joker at all.

Adrien was asked if he was disappointed that he didn’t get the role, and this is what he said

Yeah, sure I was. But you know, Heath did a tremendous job. I am happy that he excelled so much in that film. Heath was a friend of mine, so when I watch the film I don’t think about losing a role, I think about losing him. To sit there and watch such phenomenal work and have it be done by such a bright young person makes me actually quite depressed. I am way past any personal feelings (about not being cast).

Heath Ledger went on to win the posthumous Oscar for that role. Heath was amazing in that role.

Heath Ledger-Directed Music Videos Releasing This Year

heathledgermusicvideos

We’ve all celebrated the late Heath Ledger‘s Academy Award win for Best Supporting Actor this year, but what many fans may be surprised to accept with open arms are two music videos directed by the thespian.

The first, a video for a bonus track from Modest Mouse‘s 2007 album We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, “King Rat” is an animated clip that came out of a mutual idea between Ledger and fellow aussie Isaac Brock:

“Heath and I have a mutual friend and when we were in Australia, my fiancé and some of us in the band went out on a boat with him and his family and friends and talked about the idea,” Brock told VH1 in 2007 interview. “The idea sort of dropped, but then he just sent me an email saying that he wanted to do it.”

The second, that of singer Grace Woodroofe and her cover of David Bowie‘s “Quicksand”, will also be released officially in 2009.

Ledger’s life, as we all know, was cut short in 2008 – the result of a lethal (and probably accidental) combination of prescription medication.

The Dark Knight was just shy of a billion before it re-release in limited theaters, but now it’s officially passed the $1 Billion mark.

Warner Bros. Pictures made the announcement Friday afternoon, saying that the combined domestic and international gross had totaled $1,001,082,160 to date — about $533 million domestically and $567 million overseas.

It may have been snubbed for the most part at this years Oscars, but $1 Billion isn’t too bad of a consolation prize. Now that’s some money to burn!

Hugh Jackman Rooting For Heath Ledger To Win The Oscar

Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman is set to host the Oscars next Sunday. This is his first time hosting the show, where before he was just a presenter. Now how can Hugh make it different and fun?

“Celebration is the key. I’m certainly going to have a good time. If I’m not going to have a good time, how the hell is anybody else?”

I think that’s exactly what the Oscars needs is some fun and excitement! Maybe we can count on a table dance or two from Mr. Jackman? They also included the teaser that it would be more ‘intimate’. Hey, this might actually be fun to watch.

Hugh has his favorites to win, and among them include Heath Ledger, who is up for Best Supporting Actor for his role of The Joker in The Dark Knight.

“I can’t hide the fact that I would really love for that honor to be bestowed upon him,” Jackman said of his fellow Australian. “It would be fitting and I think he deserves it.”

I can’t wait to see how Heath wins and Slumdog Millionaire takes all the awards.

Michelle Williams was out in Brooklyn with her and Heath Ledger’s beautiful little girl, Matilda. The little princess is now three years old and is looking more and more like her late father every time we see her.

Matilda already has a great fasion sense as she rocks the Uggs along the sidewalk :) It is so sad that she will never know her daddy and what a great guy he was.

Heath Ledger Covers Entertainment Weekly, Actors Honor His Memory

The late Heath Ledger is being featured in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. I think think articlce is a great way to look back at Heath’s career, his far too short life, and honor him. 10 pages to look back at Heath and remember all his amazing work.

”I haven’t talked about it until now. I’m really nervous,” says actor Wes Bentley, chain-smoking outside a Los Angeles restaurant. Bentley was one of Heath Ledger’s closest friends. They costarred in 2002′s The Four Feathers and shared the same agent, along with a taste for mischief and a wariness of Hollywood’s star-making machinery. Even now, a year after Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment, it’s hard for Bentley to believe he’s gone.

On Jan. 22 the anniversary of the actor’s passing Hollywood will unveil this year’s Academy Award nominees, and Ledger is considered a lock to secure a posthumous Best Supporting Actor nod for his performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight. To mark the occasion, Entertainment Weekly reached out to dozens of Ledger’s friends and collaborators in the industry many of whom haven’t spoken publicly about his death until now to compile an oral history of his fascinating but sadly abbreviated film career. The surprising portrait that emerges offers new insight into this complicated artist, an actor who stayed true to his adventurous instincts while attempting to navigate the perilous waters of stardom.

The entire article goes over his movies and some of his co-star’s thoughts. I think that any true fan has to pick up a copy. The issue is a great way to remember him. It’s a keepsake. I can’t believe it’s almost a year since Heath’s death.

I am really hoping that Heath Ledger wins an Oscar. He earned it.
