Model Heidi Klum has been the rather quiet face of Astor for a couple of years, but she’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll never forget about this gig now.

To celebrate its 60th birthday, the cosmetics company has released an ad featuring a nude Heidi covered in ribbons of colorful body paint.  (We like this a lot more than her freaky skinned corpse body paint this past Halloween!)

She revealed the photo and blogged about her experience of creating it with makeup artist Joanne Gair:

It took 12 hours for Joanne to complete my look, but this actually wasn’t the first time she has painted me from head to toe. This was probably close to the 13^th time I’ve been body painted by her, so I’m used to getting it done–the process takes awhile, so you have to be good at being patient! I don’t mind sitting still for such a long time though, it’s a living piece of art that I’m so honored to be a part of.

However, I get so sad when the shoot is over because the beautiful paint all gets washed down the drain!

 Jessica Simpson isn’t the only girl on the cover of April 2012 Elle.  A sophisticated and elegant Heidi Klum appears on an alternate cover for this month’s issue.   Alongside photos by Thomas Whiteside, Klum talks about her kids, her early style (“It was horrible,” she says) and opens up about her recent split from husband Seal.

Admitting that celebrity life feels like being “in the eye of the tornado,”  she shares:

“I don’t want to talk positively or negatively about the ups and downs that we had. Every couple goes through things. Unfortunately, we’re in the public, so the highs are out there. But I don’t think it’s necessary—especially for our children—to have the lows being printed in magazines and talked about.”

Looks like the rumors were unfortunately true: Hollywood power couple Heidi Klum and Seal are ending their marriage. They made the following statement on Sunday:

“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.

“We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.

“We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”

It’s a very civilized statement, but the current buzz is that Klum just can’t deal with Seal’s bad temper anymore, especially its effects on their children, Leni (7), Henry (6), Johan (5) and Lou (2).  Other sources say that she’s tired of all the partying he does while he’s on tour.  And then again, there’s always that pesky little seven year itch…

The couple were known for renewing their wedding vows each year on their anniversary.  They had just done so in May 2011, in Palm Beach, Florida.

Heidi Klum and Seal went over to the hairy side of the DNA pool and dressed up as apes for Halloween.

The Project Runway host loves Halloween and throws multiple bashes each year to dress up and celebrate with friends and family.

The pair were hairy, lovey-dovey and virtually unrecognizable at the New York party held at the PH-D Rooftop Lounge at Dream Downtown.

Besides the fur, Heidi was sure to show you she was a girl with her primate boobs on display. You’ve got to love Heidi!

This year, her Las Vegas shindig was held on Saturday night and she arrived on an autopsy gurney as a skinned corpse.

You might think that Heidi Klum decided to dress as an old-school ghost for her annual Las Vegas Halloween Party.  After all, she arrived covered in a white sheet.  But Klum, who is known for her outrageous Halloween costumes (check out her 2010 and 2008 get-ups), always has a surprise up her sleeve.   She was draped in a sheet at her Saturday night shindig, all right, but she was lying on a gurney.

Dressed as a corpse.

Which would have been creepy enough, but Klum took it one step further:  she was a corpse with all its skin removed, revealing the muscles underneath.

The costume consisted of a painted body suit and makeup – and quite possibly the most fabulous platform heels you’ve ever seen on a dead chick.

It would be so easy for Klum to do something stereotypically sexy for Halloween, but she never succumbs to that temptation.  Her costumes are always creative and way out there.  Love it!

Not even Project Runway is exempt from the reality competition show trend of bringing back cast from the previous years to try again.

Project Runway All Stars, which won’t hit airwaves until late 2012, will have familiar faces in the sewing room (and trudging off to Mood,) but the judges and mentors are all new.

Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors will not sit in judgement on these designers creations. Model Angela Lindvall takes Heidi’s place as host/judge. Designers Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman will round out the other two chairs while Marie Claire editor Joanna Coles mentors in the workroom.

So which designers will get to try their hand at sewing glory again? Here’s your rundown…

The prizes they are designing for are not too shabby – an exclusive designer’s boutique in Neiman Marcus stores, $100,000 in technology and office space, and $100,000 in cash. They will also vie for a feature spread and a one-year assignment as guest editor for Marie Claire, as well as a sewing and embroidery studio provided by Brother International.

Supermodel and entrepreneur extraordinaire Heidi Klum is front and center for Glamour‘s August issue.

Klum, 38, told the magazine she wants to be 80 years-old “walking with a stick” and still doing Project Runway! Here’s what else she shared:

On going for what you want in a relationship: “I’m not someone who plays hard to get. This whole thing about “Oh, let’s exchange numbers” and then people wait four or five days before they call you? I don’t see the point. If you feel something, why would you let that pass? You only live once.”

On her husband, musician Seal: “Always. He’s even hot when he’s sleeping. He’s a beautiful man. He’s kind, he’s a gentleman, and I watched him last night onstage, and he still rocks it. I’m like, “Yeah, that’s my man!”

On advice she’s gotten from Tim Gunn and Michael Kors: “He [Tim] hasn’t. He’s so polite—he would never say, ‘Why are you wearing that?’ Michael [Kors] is a little bit more…well, he always jokes with me. He says that my skirts are really short. He calls it fallopian length. He teases me.”

Heidi Klum strips down to promote the ninth season of Project Runway in a brand new poster for the fashion designer competition reality show.

The former Victoria’s Secret model has chosen to leave little to the imagination and go nude, grabbing some attention for the TV show. Klum, 38, has her costar, Tim Gunn‘s famous catchphrase “Make It Work” written on her arm for good measure.

All the usual suspects are returning this year; Klum, Gunn, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors and will judge 20 contestants for the opening episode.

Making guest judging appearances this year are Kim Kardashian, Christina Ricci, Malin Ackerman and Zoe Saldana.

Season 9 debuts on Lifetime on Thursday, July 28th at 9pm.

Heidi Klum will take it all off to promote the show that’s all about the clothes: Project Runway.

The 38 year-old model, producer and fashion mogul shot the ads for the show’s upcoming ninth season earlier this week and is posing nude to help Lifetime network move to a sexier, more confident female image.

Lifetime president and general manager Nancy Dubuc is attempting to shift the cable channel’s programming of “women in peril” theme to one that’s more current with today’s woman, their television viewing habits and embracing a stronger female.

Plus as Dubuc succinctly said “it’s Heidi F–in’ Klum.”

The ninth season of Project Runway will bow later this summer.
