Harvey Weinstein Says ‘Scream 5′ Will Happen

Mega-producer Harvey Weinstein is confident that yet another sequel will eventually be made. Here’s what he said about the possibility of Scream 5:

I wish it would have been better domestically but foreign [sales] are so strong that we’ll do over $100 million worldwide. It’s at $90 now, with about five or six major countries to go and a lot of small ones. We’ll probably do $110 million. It’s not the worst thing in the world that’s ever happened…. I’m sure [Wes Craven is] going to do a sequel.

This isn’t really surprising, it’s one of those iconic franchises. It may not hold it’s audience here in the USA but it’s obviously still popular all over the world. I’m sure Wes Craven will be happy to do another one, I just wonder how they are going to make it fresh considering the self parodying nature of the Scream 4. I must say, I did enjoy Scream 4, so when Scream 5 comes along I probably won’t shy away.

First ‘Final Destination 5′ Trailer Makes Me Sleepy

Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming horror sequel Final Destination 5.

Seriously? I just don’t get it, why do these movies keep getting made? Oh yeah, because people keep going out and watching them! Stop it people! It’s just so repetitive, there are only so many ways people can get hurt or die. If I’m desperate for sleep at least I know I can go see this in the theater. The perfect cure for insomnia! And another thing, a screw on the balance bar? They are obviously going for real scary stuff here. Ok, sorry for getting upset. Now do me a favor and don’t go see this movie.

First ‘Paranormal Activity 2′ Trailer Pretty Bland

Here’s the first trailer for Paranormal Activity 2 the upcoming sequel to last summer’s phenomenally successful horror film.

I must admit, the first film was genuinely creepy and I didn’t want to sleep at home alone that night. Unfortunately this sequel just seems like more of the same but without the payoff. Hopefully lightning can strike twice.

Sharp New ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ Poster

A Nightmare on Elm Street Poster

Here’s the newest poster for the upcoming remake A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Jackie Earle Haley is going to be great as Freddy, I’m actually looking forward to this almost solely for that reason.

‘Night and Fog’ Comic Becoming Movie

Night and Fog Comic

The comic book Night an Fog is being adapted for the big screen.

Set during WWII, the story revolves around an infectious mist unleashed on a military base that transforms its victims into preternatural creatures of the night.

But when the survivors try to kill them, they adapt and change into something even more horrific and unstoppable.

Sounds like a cool premise, hopefully it can be done without an overabundance of CGI. I miss the days of old fashioned special effects, and with a period piece like this doing things with computer graphics will just take us out of the film.

Patriotic ‘Zombies of Mass Destruction’ Poster

Zombies of Mass Destruction Poster

Here’s the poster for the upcoming zombie flick Zombies of Mass Destruction.

This definitely lands on the more comedic side of the zombie movie spectrum. Then again it’s hard to take any zombie movie seriously anymore isn’t it?

‘Frozen’ Trailer to Creep Out the Skiers

Frozen Poster

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming film Frozen.

Looks pretty creepy, it reminds me of Eli Roth‘s Cabin Fever. I certainly hope it’s as good as that movie, the concept is certainly freaky.

Final ‘Crazies’ Poster Forking the Floor

The Crazies

Here’s the final poster for the upcoming horror film The Crazies.

Somebody’s going to have to clean that up. This poster seems more like a teaser poster than a final version, I think a pitchfork has been used in a horror film before. Pardon my sarcasm.

‘Frozen’ Poster to Scare Skiers

Frozen Poster

Here’s the new poster for the upcoming film Frozen. What’s it about? Here’s all we know so far:

Three skiers are stranded on a chairlift and forced to make life-or-death choices that prove more perilous than staying put and freezing to death

Sounds like a very basic setup for a feature length movie, but the poster looks good. The premise is interesting, I guess the movie will be more effective if they crank the air conditioning in the theaters.

Creepy New ‘Daybreakers’ Poster

I’m really looking forward to this movie, it has a lot of potential. This poster is creepy bordering on disturbing.
