Odette Annable Joins ‘House’ Cast

Odette Annable has signed on to join the cast of House for season 8 of FOX‘s hit medical drama.

The Cloverfield actress will join House’s team of diagnosticians after the cranky doctor meets his newest team member in jail.

The season 7 finale featured House (Hugh Laurie) driving his car into Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein)’s home and it appears he will do some (although likely limited) time in jail where he meets up with Annable’s character.

Annable may find herself on double TV duty. She costars in the Christian Slater comedy Breaking In, also on FOX, which has not been renewed or cancelled for next year. If the show is picked up, Deadline is reporting that her contract allows her time to film that show as well.

Annable, 26, becomes the lone female regular on the show now that Edelstein and Amber Tamblyn are gone and Olivia Wilde is off filming movies.

House returns October 3rd for what many believe will be the final year of the show.

Hugh Laurie: Guitar In Hand

The ever-scrumptious Hugh Laurie arrived at the LAX airport in Los Angeles from a London flight, carrying his guitar.

The actor is passionate about music and plays the guitar, piano, drums and saxophone.

Laurie, 52, recently released a blues album, Let Them Talk, where he flexes his (considerable) musical muscles and is surrounded by legendary musicians of New Orleans.

The House star also has inked a deal as L’Oreal’s new spokesperson for the Men Expert line of cosmetics and just received his sixth Emmy nomination for his role in the FOX medical drama.

More photos of Hugh are below. (Read the article)

Hugh Laurie Is The New Face For L’Oreal Paris Men Expert

It might not be expected from him, but he’s definitely worth it.

Hugh Laurie is the new spokesperson for L”Oreal Paris Men Expert cosmetics line along with Gerard Butler and Patrick Dempsey and gives the endorsement a cheeky feel when he mentions that perhaps it was a goof.

“At first I thought it was a mistake but then I realised that L’Oréal wasn’t looking for models, but real people with strong personalities, who are worth it … and who aren’t afraid to proclaim that using cosmetics can be a very masculine decision after all,” Hugh says in the commercial.

L’Oreal’s global brand president, Cyril Chapuy, had no doubts about the British actor and why he should be among their celebrity endorsers.

Chapuy said Laurie is “the perfect example of a modern man: genuine, uninhibited, strong and willing to pursue his passions to the end”.

What can I say, I just love Hugh no matter what he does and this playful commercial is great.

Lisa Edelstein Leaving ‘House’

Lisa Edelstein has played Dr. Lisa Cuddy for 7 seasons on the hit show House, but the actress has confirmed she will not return for season 8, which very well may be the last year for the medical drama.

“After much consideration, I am moving onward with a combination of disappointment at leaving behind a character I have loved playing for seven years and excitement of the new opportunities in acting and producing that lie ahead,” Edelstein said in a statement.

The 44 year-old actress may have been part of cost cutting measures that FOX and Universal asked House producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs to enact to keep the show on the air.

Omar Epps and Robert Sean Leonard have reportedly either had a pay freeze or less episodes in order to return.

Hugh Laurie has been set for season eight as he had one year left on his contract.

No possibility of  Huddy reuniting now and how will this change the dynamic of the show – with Cuddy who always covered for House?

Happy that this shakes things up for the (possible) final season or disappointed that Lisa isn’t returning?

Robert Sean Leonard Contemplates Leaving ‘House’

House might be one doctor down come next season.

Robert Sean Leonard has signed on to do a Broadway play and misses live theater so much, he is thinking of leaving the hit show.

The actor told TVLine that since his deal was up and no one (not even the show itself) has a new contract in place, he’s wondering aloud if it will come together.

“This is my last season of House. I’m shooting my last episode now,” Leonard said. “Contractually this is it. There’s also no deal for House next year because Comcast bought NBC Universal and no one has a deal. If I do House next year it’ll be under a new umbrella. But legally and contractually, I’m free after this [season].”

However he does leave some room for a return.

“I. Love. Money. Very, very much. But I also love my wife and my daughter,” the actor said. “And when this play first came up I knew the only way it could work is if the show was over because the run [would overlap] with House‘s shooting schedule. And when my contract was not renewed this season…”

He continued “The long and short of it is, I don’t know. I would love to make more money. Money is nice. I also really miss [living in] New Jersey. I also really miss theater. I miss my friends. Gabby misses her family. I’m sick and tired of living in a place I don’t feel at home.”

You gotta love his honesty.

Hugh Laurie & Russell Brand ‘Hop’ To It

British gents Hugh Laurie and Russell Brand were in top form on Sunday, March 27th for the premiere of Hop. Held at Universal Studios, the duo who voice the father and son rabbit characters for the film, buddied up on the red carpet.

The House star says he finds voiceover work fascinating as he’s done lots of animated characters for film and TV.

“I love doing voice stuff. I’ve always enjoyed it,” said Laurie. “But I also just enjoy speech, voice, sound. Those are things that sorta fascinate me’ and the things people can do with rhythm and expressiveness in their voice.”

For Brand’s part, he says he just enjoys creating for kids.

“I like mucking about and being silly. I really, really love children,” Brand said. “Among children is probably when I feel most liberated. I don’t feel like, “Oh, there’s some children here. I have to tone it down.” I go nuts with children, especially because I ain’t got none.”

Lisa Edelstein & Hugh Laurie At FOX TCA Winter Press Tour

Hugh Laurie and Lisa Edelstein were among the stars of House M.D. who came out to the FOX TCA Winter Press Tour 2011 in Pasedena, California. Amber Tamblyn, Omar Epps and Peter Jacobson joined their costars for the event as well.

FOX brought out the stars of Bones too. David Boreanz and Emily Deschanel hung at the event for television critics across the country and they joined up with Elijah Wood, who will star in Wilfred, a new mid season show also on the network.

Lots of photos below of all the stars.

Hugh Laurie Is GQ Dapper

The very sexy and camera-shy Hugh Laurie grabbed the cover of French GQ for January 2011.

The actor is in his seventh season playing Dr. Gregory House on the FOX hit show House, M.D. but Laurie is still surprised by the longevity of the series saying:

“When I auditioned, I thought that within two weeks it would all be over. I had not imagined that seven years later, we would still be here. At the same time, it was a good script with a complex role. I appreciated the series in its entirety: clever, funny, with the ability to express different tones. Sometimes witty, dramatic, funny, other times clownish. I found that original, I understood the character.”

Hugh is scheduled to attend the People’s Choice Awards 2011 on January 5th along with costar Lisa Edelstein.
