Hugh Laurie Is GQ Dapper

The very sexy and camera-shy Hugh Laurie grabbed the cover of French GQ for January 2011.

The actor is in his seventh season playing Dr. Gregory House on the FOX hit show House, M.D. but Laurie is still surprised by the longevity of the series saying:

“When I auditioned, I thought that within two weeks it would all be over. I had not imagined that seven years later, we would still be here. At the same time, it was a good script with a complex role. I appreciated the series in its entirety: clever, funny, with the ability to express different tones. Sometimes witty, dramatic, funny, other times clownish. I found that original, I understood the character.”

Hugh is scheduled to attend the People’s Choice Awards 2011 on January 5th along with costar Lisa Edelstein.

‘House M.D.’ Operates With Amber Tamblyn

House M.D. is getting a dose of Amber Tamblyn to spice up the show. The Joan of Arcadia star is weighing in for a few episodes while Olivia Wilde is off filming Cowboys & Aliens. Hugh Laurie’s Dr. Gregory House plucks Amber’s smarter-than-your-average med student gal and adds her to his diagnostic team.

Nice addition – will she end up being Chace’s (Jesse Spencer’s) new love interest?

Hugh Laurie At The Paley Center…Hints About House & Cuddy Hook Up

Hugh Laurie Paley Center

Hugh Laurie was at The Creative Process: Inside ‘House’ at The Paley Center for Media last night in Los Angeles. And I know you are dying just as much as I am thinking of what is in store for Dr. House. I am so glad that Amber is back. I liked her character! And now House gets to see her all the time! But I must admit I almost cried when I saw him walking into the mental institute.

Hugh spilled some spoilers for the next season which starts filming in just a couple of weeks. House executive producers Katie Jacobs and David Shore, along with Hugh, Lisa Edelstein and Omar Epps helped fill in what is going on with House.

On how House is mentally: “This season opener is really going to begin shortly after those doors close behind him. We’re going to wake up there and going to cover—storytelling wise in two hours—two to three months and that journey of rehabilitation that House feels he may or may not need, that he does need,” says Katie. “It’s not a full-on rehabilitation. House won’t be perfect in any way. I describe it as if there’s a hole in his heart, maybe he’ll leave with one more piece, but the House is still there.” Don’t expect the whole season to take place in the mental institute though: “It’s not going to be that much, but that two-hour premiere is basically exclusively there,” adds David.

Hugh on playing someone crazy: Hop on the crazy boat, because we’re in for quite a storm. Says Hugh, “House’s sickness is an indispensable part of his skill, possibly his intellect, and if not his intellect, than his identity. All of us fear change because we fear even the things we dislike in our lives, we fear that they are nonetheless part of us, and if we surrender them then we will become some how less.” For his time in the mental hospital, Hugh has shaved his head, saying “I have a slightly institutional look.” However, being institutionalized is not all serious though, “There is just a small musical element to it. I’m completely out of my depth; I should not be doing it, but life is about risks!” jokes Hugh.

On the House/Cuddy hookup: Fans are still reeling over the imagined coupling of House and Cuddy, but Lisa tells us, “I loved the way they handled it because for one thing, it means they can still have sex. Because they haven’t done it yet. In another way it shows what he wishes he had, which includes an intimate relationship with her, wanting to live with her and wanting to be off drugs. I think we learn a lot about him and we still have the opportunity of exploring it, because it hasn’t been explored even though we got to shoot that sexy scene.” Katie seconds that notion, “I think all those emotions, sparks, difficulties and the push and pull is still there. I think the only reason why he hallucinated that hallucination with someone he works with is because somewhere that’s in his mind.”

Hugh Laurie Does David Letterman

Hugh Laurie at the David Letterman Show

Hugh Laurie looked dapper last night as he appeared on the David Letterman Show. I am sure that he was full of laughs. I love it when Hugh is on Ellen Degeneres‘ show. Ellen bugs the heck out of him.

Of all the TV doctors around Hugh is the best of them. You can’t help but love him, even though you hate how rude he is. But that works for Dr. House because he is obviously very smart.

Hugh is starring in the upcoming film, Monsters VS Aliens, where he voices Dr. Cockroach. I have seen what his character looks like and he’s just as adorable as Hugh. It hits theaters on Friday.

Backseat Rewind: Hugh Laurie

We all know Hugh Laurie as the cranky, addicted to his Vicodin, crushing on Dr. Cuddy and Dr. Wilson type doctor in the TV show House. I admit I was one of those types that didn’t watch this show until after it was on for a couple of years. And one day I was flicking through the channels and it was on. I couldn’t help but want to watch every episode after that!

But what exactly did Hugh do before he was Dr. House? Find out after the jump… (Read the article)

Hugh Laurie Is Going Bald

Hugh Laurie has this irresistible charm. Both on set and off the set. I love when he is on the Ellen Degeneres Show because he always makes me laugh. Here he is looking sweaty and scruffy leaving his training classes in London where he takes boxercise to keep him trim for his role as Dr. House.

Right now Hugh is on a four week vacation from work to spend some time away from his house in LA to visit his family in England. It looks like he is starting to adjust to his life in the States. I can’t wait for the new season to start. I wonder if House and Wilson finally hook up?

Hugh Laurie’s New Schweppes Commercial

Hugh Laurie has ventured into the land of the Schweppes Tonic for this commercial.

Translated it goes like this:

V/O: Schweppes Tonic and Hugh Laurie.
Hugh: How did you know I wanted a Schweppes Tonic?
Woman1: Because it suits you.
Hugh: It suits me…?
Woman2: It suits you because you are not easy at the beginning, but it’s worth insisting.
Hugh: Do we insist at my home or at yours?
V/O: Schweppes Tonic.
Hugh: A sour point is sexy.

Now Hugh is super sexy in this commercial. But, I want to know. Is that his real voice?
