Tenacious D Announce Album & Tour: Watch D’s ‘To Be The Best’ Video

If you wondered where Tenacious D has been since their 2006 film The Pick of Destiny, wonder no more.

Funnymen and musicians Jack Black and Kyle Gass are back announcing a new album, a tour and a new video full of awesomeness.

Heady from days of rock excess, Black hangs with monks, does drugs and consults with Val Kilmer on the balcony of his mansion as Gass escapes from his looks to bring the band back together.

Foo Fighters Dave Grohl, Jimmy Kimmel and Extra host Maria Menounos appear in the six-minute long “To Be The Best” video.

The self-proclaimed greatest band of all time will release their new album, Rize of the Fenix on May 15th and Tenacious D’s world tour kicks off May 23rd in Santa Barbara.

WATCH: Funny Or Die Video – The Clinton Foundation Celebrity Division With Sean Penn, Matt Damon & More

The Clinton Global Initiative is backed by lots of celebrities who want to do good but perhaps they aren’t as effective as they think as this Funny or Die video points out.

The stars are part of the new Clinton Foundation’s Celebrity Division and Ben Stiller gets the team together for a brainstorming session.

Matt Damon wants a Clinton softball team, Kristen Wiig suggests holding your breath for 1 minute a day, Ted Danson & Mary Steenburgen just want to flirt, Jack Black has a theme song and Kevin Spacey pranks the team with a little reprimand/help from former President Clinton.

Oh and stop taking Sean Penn‘s lunch, y’all!

‘Kung Fu Panda 2′ Photo Call & Angelina Jolie Confirms Tattoo Is Brad Pitt’s Birthplace

Kung Fu Panda 2 got the red carpet treatment at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival on Thursday when stars Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black appeared for photos and interviews.

The Dreamworks Animation sequel has Black voicing Po, the Dragon Warrior panda with a bit of a paunch, Jolie as Tigress, the tiger who has trained all her life to be the Dragon Warrior and Hoffman as Shifu, the red panda master and teacher of all things Kung Fu.

While doing press for the May 26th release, Jolie was asked about the latest addition to her latitude and longitude coordinates tattoo.

It had been speculated that it was either her partner Brad Pitt‘s birthplace or perhaps a preview of another child the couple was planning to adopt. (The confusion was in part because the photos of the tattoo weren’t clear at first or it was partially covered by clothing.)

Jolie, annoyed by the question told reporters sharply: “Well if they know that it’s latitude and longitude they would have figured out quickly that it was Brad’s birthplace.” Jolie told Extra. “It’s Shawnee, Oklahoma.”

That settles that.

Jack Black Gets ‘Bailout’

Jack Black is set to star in the upcoming comedy Blackout.

…Bailout, a Michael Winterbottom-directed comedy that will star Jack Black. The film is based on the Jess Walter novel The Financial Lives of The Poets. Walter adapted his novel, which follows the misadventures of Matt Prior (Black), who loses his job, is crippled with debt and is convinced his wife is having an affair. He’s two weeks from losing his home when he meets two losers at the supermarket who offer him a strange business opportunity and his last chance to save himself.

Sounds like a fun story, Black needs some starring roles like this that aren’t too outlandish. It’s good to see him do comedy with a little real drama mixed in. He’s a great actor and it’s rare to see him show his dramatic side, hopefully this will be a good chance to see it.

Maya Rudolph & Jack Black At ‘Bridesmaids’ Premiere

Maya Rudolph posed with Jack Black on the red carpet for the premiere of Bridesmaids at the Mann Village Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday evening.

The very pregnant actress wore a very shiny lavender dress that highlighted her growing tummy.

Rudolph plays the bride, Lillian, in the film and says she doesn’t understand the comparisons the movie is getting to The Hangover.

“I didn’t think that [it was similar to 'The Hangover'] when we were making it. But I definitely thought it was one of the funnier movies I’d ever read,” the actress said.

Rudolph also said “There’s a really sweet story, inside of it, sort of bringing it all together, with this kinda friendship, that’s sorta going through these twists and turns. And this woman whose life is kinda, not where she wants it to be.”

More photos of Rudolph are below. (Read the article)

Sleep Makes You A Better Parent? No Duh, Jack Black.

Jack Black covered Parade this past week to hawk his new movie, Gulliver’s Travels.  I am pretty sure his interview is one of the most inane things I have ever read.    Jack shared his love of spicy food, marriage advice, and a fascination with botanical gardens.  Seriously?  Yawn.   He also talked about what he thinks is the key to being a good dad to his two and four year old sons:  sleep.

“The more sleep I get, the better dad I am. Parenting is 90% energy; if you don’t have it, then there tend to be some lazy TV-watching days with the kids, and that ain’t gettin’ it done.”

One, he’s right:  sleep does help you parent better, because if you’re walking around like a zombie then you’re not going to be terribly effective at anything.  Two, therein lies the rub:  parents just don’t get a whole lot of sleep for the first few years.   So unless you have enough money to hire a nanny to help you out, you’re probably just doing the best you can.  Which sometimes means you spend the occasional lazy day in front of the tube, and that’s just fine, on occasion.  Do not let Jack Black tell you otherwise!

First ‘Kung Fu Panda 2′ Poster Pops Up!

Here’s the first teaser poster for the upcoming sequel Kung Fu Panda 2.

If this movie is even as close to as good as the first one was we’re in for a treat. Unfortunately sequels are rarely as good, perhaps this will be an exception.

Jack Black is All Tied Up on New ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ Poster

Here’s the new poster for the upcoming film Gulliver’s Travels starring Jack Black.

The movie looks like it could be fun, I love this story so it should be interesting seeing a modern take.

Jack Black Is A Teddy Bear (Photos)

Jack Black in Beverly Hills

Jack Black was seen leaving a medical building in Beverly Hills yesterday (October 23rd) and from the looks of it, things went well for my favorite funny man (well one of them anyway).

Is it just me or is Jack Black a total teddy bear?  Yes, I want to hug the guy…a want to give him a big squeeze.  Then sit down, have some beers and just listen to the guy talk while laughing my @ss off.

What is up next for Jack? Watch for him in Guilliver’s Travels with Amanda Peet…yes, I think they hook up……

Amanda Peet Joins Jack Black in ‘Gulliver’s Travels’

Amanda Peet has signed on to play a part in the upcoming Gulliver’s Travels starring Jack Black.

The modern retelling of Jonathan Swift’s classic story follows travel writer Lemuel Gulliver (Jack Black), who heads to an assignment in the Bermuda Triangle only to end up on the secret island of Lilliput, home to a population of industrious tiny people.

Peet will play Black’s editor and potential romantic interest. Jason Segel and Emily Blunt also star.

I really loved this story as a child, the growing cast is making the film seem more and more appealing.
