James McAvoy & Robert Redford At ‘The Conspirator’ Premiere

James McAvoy & Robert Redford headed to the world premiere of their latest flick, The Conspirator at the Fords Theatre in Washington DC.

The movie about the trial of a Southern woman accused of conspiring to assassinate Abraham Lincoln has Redford as director and McAvoy is her public defender, Frederick Aiken.

Of the historical figure, McAvoy said there wasn’t alot of information on him but the effect of the trial on him was huge.

“This trial is momentous for him, and it changes him in a fundamental way,” McAvoy told Movieline. “It kind of cripples his ability to fight in that system. He gave it everything he had, and he wasn’t always the best at it. But he really threw his whole heart and soul into it, and it didn’t work — even though it should have.”

Tobey Maguire May Be ‘The Hobbit’

Tobey Maguire

Reportedly Tobey Maguire is being considered for the role of The Hobbit in the upcoming film.

Tobey Maguire is up for the lead role in the movie Bilbo Baggins based on the book series by JRR Tolkien.

A source said:

The Hobbit team are deep in the casting process. Everyone is over the moon. Tobey is not only one of the most recognizable faces in , he is also one of the best actors.”

And while Maguire said he hasn’t spoken to the filmmakers, he did say:

“I love Guillermo del Toro and Peter Jackson and I certainly wouldn’t take myself out of the conversation.”

Maguire would be a good choice but I wouldn’t pic him over a lot of other actors like James McAvoy who is also being considered. I’m sure somebody will be officially locked down soon, they need to hurry up and start shooting this thing!

James McAvoy to Play James Bond Creator Ian Fleming in Biopic

James McAvoy Ian Fleming

James McAvoy is set to play  Ian Fleming (creator of James Bond) in an upcoming film about the writer’s life.

Palmstar Entertainment and Animus Films are developing a biopic based on the life of Ian Fleming, according to our source, The Hollywood Cog. Currently working under the title, Ian Fleming, the movie will be about the man behind James Bond, specifically focused on the years that gave him inspiration for the Bond character.

Years before creating Bond, Fleming struggled and floundered under the shadow of his family name (his father was a member of Parliament, and his siblings were also well-known, as well, including Peter — a travel writer). Likable but lost, Fleming was little but an aimless playboy, until his experiences in World War 2 changed his life, and it was those autobiographical experiences during war time that inspired James Bond, who was based — in part — on Fleming.

The movie itself will be based on the book, Ian Fleming: The Man Behind James Bond, by Andrew Lycett, who has also written books on Arthur Conan Doyle, Dylan Thomas, and Rudyard Kipling.

McAvoy seems like a great choice, he’s a very talented guy. I’ve always wondered about Ian Fleming‘s story, now I won’t have to read the book!

Trailer for ‘The Last Station’ Has Oscar Contenders

The Last Station Poster

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming film The Last Station starring Helen Mirren.

There are some amazing actors in this film, making it far more interesting to me than it would be otherwise. Helen Mirren is one of the most worthy Oscar winners in recent years for her performance in The Queen.
