Jamie Foxx is likely to be the star of Quentin Tarantino‘s next film Django Unchained.

Foxx will join Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson in a Sergio Leone-style spaghetti Western that Tarantino wrote and has set in Mississippi during slavery. No deal has been made yet, but it shouldn’t take long.

I’m glad that Tarantino has made his choice, Foxx is a great actor who will slip into this role with ease. Tarantino knows how to pull the character he wants out of his actors, I’m sure Foxx will be work well with him. I’m actually glad it didn’t go to Will Smith as originally planned, Jamie Foxx has shown range with comedy and drama in a way that I don’t think Smith is even capable of.

The Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute honored Jamie Foxx with the Renaissance Award and his pal, Robert Downey Jr. was there to present the trophy.

Held in Chicago at the Ritz-Carlton hotel, Downey volunteered for duties this year (he was last year’s recepient) because “he had so much fun” and wanted to give his friend and costar his due.

Foxx and Downey Jr. both starred in The Soloist and Due Date and their rapport and friendship showed as they messed around with each others’ interviews on the red carpet.

Foxx, 43, joked about singing with Downey, 46, and said “Be ready for the Christmas Album that’s coming. The RDJ JF Christmas Album.”

Here’s the newest trailer for the upcoming star packed romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, coming out on February 12th, 2010. This one features Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift.

This trailer is certainly better than the last version, it seems the re-shoots might have actually helped. And clearly they added the stuff with Lautner and Swift to pull in a bigger audience. Regardless, I still have no interest in seeing this.

Here’s the newest poster for the romantic comedy, Valentine’s Day. It features  Ashton Kutcher, Emma Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Julia Roberts, Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, Topher Grace and Bradley Cooper just to name a few.

This movie is packed with stars, but but that doesn’t nessesarily make it a great film. I know one of bit part actors in the film, and she said they were going back to re-shoot scenes they’d already finished. That may just mean test audiences didn’t like something and the studio wanted some things tweaked. In any case, this movie will be THE date movie for it’s upcoming Valentine’s Day release.

Here’s what it’s about:

The plot focuses on a man who, ten years after his wife and daughter are brutally murdered, returns to extract justice from the assistant district attorney who prosecuted the case against their killers. His vengeance threatens not only the man who allowed mercy to supersede justice, but also the system and the city that made it so.

Sounds and looks interesting, good actors at least. We’ll just have to wait and see how it is this October.

Actress Halle Berry looked absolutely stunning in her sexy black dress at the Spike TV’s ‘Guys Choice Awards’ held at Sony Studios in Los Angeles yesterday (May 30). Mommy Halle just gets hotter and hotter with time!

The 42 year-old was honored with the “Decade of Hotness” award presented by fellow actor Jamie Foxx. Halle surprised everyone, probably even Jamie, when she just threw herself in his arms and started kissing and groping him… WOW it was hot!

Jamie Foxx has a suggestion for what kind of dog Barack Obama should get for his daughters as promised in his victory speech.

“A pitbull,” the entertainer said.� “(I’m) trying to pick out Barack Obama’s Christmas puppy right now, so we’re working hard on that,” he joked. “I think I’m going to get him a pitbull, we just got to keep it street.”

Nice.� Will he be recommending cyclone fencing and boarded-up windows at the White House too?
