Matt Damon and Josh Brolin seem to be joining Jeff Bridges in the upcoming Coen brothers remake True Grit.

Matt Damon and Josh Brolin are in discussions with Joel and Ethan Coen to join Jeff Bridges in “True Grit,” the re-imagining of the iconic 1969 Western that Paramount Pictures will put into production next March for late 2010 release.

The Coens, who previously attached their “Big Lebowski” star Bridges to play U.S. marshal Rooster Cogburn, are in talks with Damon to play the lawman (played by Glen Campbell in the original) who teams with Cogburn and a 14-year old girl to track her father’s killer into hostile Indian territory.

In a turnabout, Brolin is in talks to play the killer. The actor’s recent rise was greatly helped playing the good guy in the Coens’ Oscar-winning contemporary Western “No Country for Old Men.” Jeff Corey played the killer in the original, and Robert Duvall and Dennis Hopper also played outlaws.

Sign me up! This sounds like a really great film already, talk about throwing together a massive pile of talent! I’ll be keeping you posted on the happenings with this Oscar bait flick.

This movie looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun, such a strange concept. It’s amazing that the government really had/has this program at all.

The long awaited sequel Tron Legacy has been given an official release date. That date is December 17th, 2010.

Disney will roll out the 3D version of its “Tron Legacy” in theaters and Imax screens simultaneously on Dec. 17, 2010.

The futuristic actioner becomes the third film to be released through Imax as part of a five-pic deal with Disney.

In addition to Imax’s 3D format, pic will also be released in traditional theaters using Disney Digital 3D.

So we have to wait another year, we’ve already waited 27 already, so don’t complain. It’s starting to look like everything really is going to be released in 3D after a couple more years. Hope they figure out how to do it without those pesky glasses soon.

The Men Who Stare At Goats

Starring: George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey, Jeff Bridges, Rebecca Mader, Terry Serpico, J.K. Simmons

What it’s about: A reporter, trying to lose himself in the romance of war after his marriage fails, gets more than he bargains for when he meets a special forces agent who reveals the existence of a secret, psychic military unit whose goal is to end war as we know it. The founder of the unit has gone missing and the trail leads to another psychic soldier who has distorted the mission to serve his own ends.

Thoughts: This movie looks so completely strange I can’t wait to see it. The cast is enough for me to want to see it alone, but it really looks funny! Sign me up.

Here’s the official trailer for the upcoming sequel to the 80s sci-fi film Tron. It was originally called Tron 2.0 and then Tron 2, it’s new official title is Tron Legacy.

This is basically the same as the trailer that was shown at last year’s Comic-Con, thankfully this one is actually in HD for our viewing pleasure. You’d think they would have more to show since they actually shot the movie since last year, but we’ll just have to settle for now.

Tron 2 has a reported $300 million budget, of course, in Canadian dollars! Yes that’s a lot of money, even in U.S. Dollars it’s still $245 million! 

Vancouver post-production units are salivating at the prospects presented by the Disney remake of Tron, which carries a whopping $300 million budget and opportunities aplenty for effects and digital polish.

The 1982 version of the film starring Jeff Bridges blazed new trails in computer graphics and you can bet Tron 2.0 will push much further down the pixel path.

Some have scoffed at the concept, but Race to Witch Mountain cost around $150 million, so it doesn’t seem completely impossible that Tron 2 could hold a price tag of $245 million.

This is the first image from the upcoming sequel Tron 2. And here are some details from the photographer. 

They have been spending some crazy money here. They have been blocking off huge main sections of downtown for some pretty awesome looking action scenes. I saw tons of police cars chasing a guy hanging on to the top of a taxi. There were huge cranes holding up a stunt wire rig rig like I have never seen before. There is defintly some impressive non light cycle real life action in this movie. They have also transformed the tallest building in the city with huge encom logos and futuristic lighting. I was in total awe of how much equipment and gadgets they had. Everything I’ve seen them doing in the last five days is easily some of the most expensive stuff I’ve ever seen.  It’s probably is $300 million, even if it’s canadian dollars. I only managed to grab this crappy still with the big logo and some futuristic room above.

Sounds like it’s going to be pretty action packed, and with the modern digital technology I’m sure we’ll be seeing some spectacular in-system visuals.

The plot for the film sequel Tron 2 has been revealed online.

SPOILERS BELOW, obviously, as AICN’s source saw no problem in revealing the entire story. And the first thing they point out is that�Tron 2�or�TR2N�will definitely not be the title– probably something more along the lines of�Tron: Revenge of the Fallen�orTron: Salvation, you get the idea.

OK, as for the plot. The new film opens in 1989, where Kevin Flynn (Bridges) has become successful by basing�games�on his experiences in the Game Grid in the first film. Then he suddenly disappears, leaving behind his son, Sean, who we meet up with again 20 years later. Alan Bradley (Bruce Boxleitner) encourages Sean to track down his father, which of course leads him into the same computer world. There Flynn’s CLU character from the first film has gone bad, which explains how Jeff Bridges is the villain this time around. And, you know, Sean has to save the day in the end.

Sounds like some dramatic changes in the characters loyalties. Its strange that Jeff Bridges character will be the bad guy.�

The original cast of Tron is has returned for Tron 2.0, including Jeff Bridges and�Bruce Boxleitner.

Bruce Boxleitner, who played Alan Bradley and the title character in Walt Disney Pictures’ 1982 film�Tron, is currently filming a role for the studio’s upcoming�Tron 2.0. He joins fellow original cast member Jeff Bridges and newcomers Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett in the anticipated action-adventure.

The teaser shown at the 2008 Comic-Con really brought the crowd to cheering and excitement. I really like the original, I hope the new technology and concepts portrayed in Tron 2.0 manage to be more than just effects. I’m hoping for a great script.�

Yes thats right! Tron 2 is on its way, a sequel 25 years later! Here’s the footage somebody took of the unveiling at Comic-Con. It’s blurry at the beginning but then it gets better, pretty cool. It’ll be great to see what they can do with today’s technology as compared to 25 years ago. And yes, Jeff Bridges is back. The film will be directed�by Joseph Kosinski. I’ll put better quality video up when it becomes available.
