It’s been a busy celebrity baby birthing past few days.

Victoria & David Beckham had a daughter, Harper Seven, Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy welcomed a boy they haven’t named yet and now Jewel and Ty Murray announce she has delivered the couple’s first child – a baby boy.

The newest addition to the Murray household weighed in at 7lbs, 6oz and has earned the name Kase Townes Murray.

“Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world,” Jewel tells People magazine. “We are overcome with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be – better even!”

The couple were wed in 2008. This is their first child.

Jewel and her husband Ty Murray announced they are expecting a baby.

“I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!” the singer, 36, tells PEOPLE. “It was so hard to keep it a secret. I was worried I’d start throwing up on set [of her new reality TV show Going Platinum] and everyone would be like, ‘Oh, she’s pregnant.’ “

The singer and her rodeo star husband are remodeling their 2,200 acre ranch in Texas and turning a guest room into a nursery.

The couple wed in 2008 and have been trying to conceive for two years.

Even after having dated for 10 years, rodeo star and Dancing with the Stars contestant Ty Murray can still give his new wife, Jewel , butterflies.

When asked about her husband of less than a year Jewel had this to say

“I always get butterflies when I see him. I think that’s a nice thing! He’s a stand-up guy in a world of flakes,”

What a genuine compliment to give about your husband.

The couple have also recently talked openly about wanting to expand their family by having children very soon.

“I really want to start a family,” says the singer, who released an album of lullabies in May. “My husband [Ty Murray] and I would love to see that happen soon. I’d have to say no to doing next season’s Dancing With The Stars because hopefully I’ll be pregnant by then!”

Do not get your hopes up to be hearing too much from singer Jewel in the next year. No TV shows like Dancing with the Star, and no long tours. Why? Jewel and her rodeo star husband, Ty Murray are going to focus on expanding their family.

“I really want to start a family,” says the singer, who released an album of lullabies in May. “My husband [Ty Murray] and I would love to see that happen soon. I’d have to say no to doing next season’s Dancing With The Stars because hopefully I’ll be pregnant by then!”

Both Ty and Jewel were to be on last season’s Dancing with the Stars, but Jewel fractured BOTH of her legs before the season even began.

Things didn’t work out for Jewel on Dancing With The Stars but it looks like that may have been a blessing in disguise.  Now Jewel is going to be able to focus on baby making and letting her body work on baby time rather than the Tango…. She can leave the dancing to her hubby of 8 months, Ty Murray.

“We’d like to have a family,” his wife of eight months, Jewel, 34, tells OK!.

“We’re going to start working on that.”

“He’s such as sincere person. I feel lucky to have a guy who means what her says.”

That is so sweet.  I think that Jewel and Ty will make a wonderful parent team.  And hello, this baby is going to have a great set of pipes to listen to while floating around in utero!
