Jimmy Kimmel Gives Touching Tribute To His Late Uncle Frank (VIDEO)

Jimmy Kimmel opened his show last night with a very moving opening monologue to his late Uncle Frank – a frequent guest on the program.

Frank Potenza, a retired New York City police officer and a security guard at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, passed away on August 23rd at the age of 77.

The 43 year-old talk show host was visibly moved and choked back tears as he began.

“Listen, I’m gonna try to do this without crying, but I’m probably gonna fail,” he said to the audience. “But just turn away or something, because it’s embarrassing. It really is.”

Kimmel broke down at the end, just before showing a montage of his most memorable moments.

“Uncle Frank loved being a part of this show. And I wanna say thanks to my coworkers who talked to him and visited him and picked him up 12 hours early for work. He loved you. And thanks to all of you who came to the show and watched, for indulging me and letting me put my crazy uncle on television.”

It was a very sweet moment.

Lil’ Kim Discusses “Bionic Booty”, Regis, Prison, and DWTS

So on the eve of her elimination, Lil’ Kim and Dancing with the Stars partner Derek Hough dropped by Jimmy Kimmel to discuss getting the boot, what’s next for the rapper, and most importantly – how cute she thinks her biggest DWTS supporter Regis Philbin really is!

Oh yeah, and she kinda reminisces (in present tense no less) about her days in prison.  She really is in amazing physical shape – let’s hope she truly capitalizes on this re-discovered relevancy and moves back towards the top of the charts (or at least snags a really dope reality show!)

Kristen Stewart Does Jimmy Kimmel

Kristen Stewart At Jimmy Kimmel

Kristen Stewart was on the Jimmy Kimmel show the other night to promote her new movie, The Cake Eaters. She had to break herself away from the New Moon set to come to do the promotion for it.

The movie is about “two families who are brought together by the return of one family’s son—a reunion that conjures up old ghosts and issues that must be addressed.”

I found that she wasn’t really relaxed in this interview. You would think after all the press that was done for Twilight she could relax. I know there are many of us that would die to be in her place.

A Sarah Palin Christmas: Shooting Rudolph

I know everyone loves the Christmas classic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, but have you seen the new version starring Sarah Palin. It’s quite graphic so if you can’t handle seeing animals being shot then look away. (This was on Jimmy Kimmel the other night so don’t shoot the messenger!)

Michael Phelps’ Appearance On Grey’s Anatomy Sneak Peek

Right before the Emmy’s were on last night, Jimmy Kimmel hosted an hour long show that only had the biggest stars on it. Michael Phelps was in that hour because of course his ego is as big as Earth right now. But I have to give Michael props, he’s a great actor. He would have to be to be appearing on the season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy! That’s just what that hospital needs, a Doctor McSwimmy.

Note: This is just a joke…but I seriously thought it was real for a second there. I have never watched Grey’s Anatomy but I would for sure start to watch if Michael was on it.

Celeb Quote Of The Day: Sarah Silverman

silverman

“I’ll be honest, we have it good… [but] I don’t want the government involved in our love. When my friends get married I think it’s romantic, I cry, whatever. But it’s not for me.”

Sarah Silverman, one of People‘s 100 Most Beautiful this year, tells the magazine why we shouldn’t expect to see her walking down the aisle with Jimmy Kimmel anytime soon.

And hey, they must have it good if they can poke raunchy fun at each other all over the airwaves and still be fine together!
