JK Rowling still has some magic in her.
The author revealed today that the Pottermore website will offer digital e-book versions of the Harry Potter story and an interactive online destination for today’s digital generation.
The site will also offer exclusive content that Rowling has written for the web that fans will now get to read. The press release does not mention new characters or places but does say it’s “extensive new material.”
Rowling’s Pottermore isn’t offering a new book and she says that she is satisfied with Harry Potter’s seven books.
I do have closure with Harry,” she said. “I have no plans to write another novel. I’m pretty sure I’m done on the novel front, but it was fun while it lasted.”That doesn’t mean she’s finished with Potter entirely, though. “Will there ever be an encyclopedia? Possibly,” she said. “If ever I do do a printed encyclopedia, I would like for all the proceeds to go to charity.”
The site doesn’t open until October, but a lucky few will get to try it out starting July 31st by entering their email address on the site.
