Jon Favreau and his wife, Joya Tillem enjoyed a day at the beach with their kids on Saturday (Sept. 5th) in Malibu.  It’s nice to see Jon spending quality time with his family in the midst of his very busy schedule. The guy has a plethora of movies lined up.  I am not sure how he has time for anything else!  But, this just shows that he is a good family man who has his priorities straight.

I bet his kiddos enjoyed him as Hurley in G-Force!  So cute!  I will be watching him in I Love You, Man later on tonight…Yes, it’s taken me this long.  But, I am a busy girl!

Couples Retreat

Starring: Kristen Bell, Kristin Davis, Malin Akerman, Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Jason Bateman, Faizon Love, Jean Reno, Peter Serafinowicz, Kali Hawk, Tasha Smith

What it’s about: A comedy centered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort’s therapy sessions is not optional.

Thoughts: I got the chance to be on the set of this movie at one point, I’m pretty sure the final product is going to be funny. With this many funny improvisational actors in the same place we are bound to get some good laughs.

Iron Man 2 has finished principle photography.

You might have seen Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau’s Tweets about principal photography wrapping up in the early hours of Saturday, July 18th, which was followed by a wrap party on Sunday night. Now,Marvel.com has posted quotes from producer Kevin Feige about the 71-day shoot as well. Here’s a clip:

“Shooting ‘Iron Man 2′ was a fantastic experience and we couldn’t be happier. Although there were many challenges in making this film, having Jon Favreau, Robert Downey, Gwyneth Paltrow and almost the entire crew from the first film back on board, allowed us to hit the ground running as everyone was instantly familiar with each other from day one,” Feige told Marvel.com. “This dynamic allowed us to get done what we needed on a day to day basis and was a big factor in why we finished slightly ahead of schedule.”

There’s sure to be additional shooting as they piece together the final version of the film. I really hope it reaches the same level as the first film, all the pieces seem to be in place.

Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming film Couples Retreat starring Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Kristen Bell, Jason Bateman, Kristin Davis and Faizon Love.

I’m not jumping out of my seat on this one, but it seems like it could be pretty funny. It’s a pretty good cast, just not the most fresh concept. It reminds me a little bit of an old episode of I Love Lucy.

Here’s the poster for the upcoming comedy Couples Retreat.

The story revolves around four couples who go to a tropical island resort, with one couple working on their marriage and the others sucked into the resort’s couples therapy. Bell is playing Bateman’s wife, Davis plays Favreau’s wife, and Akerman plays Vaughn’s.

This will probably be pretty amusing, but I’m not expecting a killer comedy here.

Here’s the first shot of Mickey Rourke as the villain Whiplash in the upcoming film Iron Man 2.

Whiplash sports a power pack on his chest that looks similar to the one used by Iron Man. “The technologies are definitely related, and that’s part of the core theme of the film,” says Favreau.

The character’s alter ego, Ivan Vanko, is a Russian who, Favreau says, “has constructed his own version of a suit.” Among the creative alterations: a pair of whips, powered by the suit’s glowing chest piece. Whiplash “is going to light them up,” says Rourke.

Looks cool, but this is really just a tiny little taste of what’s in store for this mega sequel. Rourke is certainly up for the task.

John Favreau was recently interviewed by Empire magazine about his upcoming sequel Iron Man 2. Here’s what he had to say. 

“Tony’s expected to be a role model and I don’t think he’s ready to be one. He’s under a great deal of pressure and when you’re under pressure, I think you find outlets for that. That’s one of the tensions of the film: it’s one thing to say you’re Iron Man, and another thing to actually become Iron Man.”

And what of Stark’s friend and confidant Jim Rhodes? Favreau hinted that Rhodes, now played by Don Cheadle, will be tooling up big-time when he dons his own armoured suit as War Machine. “Rhodesy is definitely stepping up in this film. Let me put it this way: Tony’s not the only person with technology in the film.”

I’ve gotten some glimpses of the sets and some of the story points myself which I can’t disclose (for fear of litigation) but I’ll just say Iron Man 2 is going to be a film with a much larger scope than the first one.

He’s suited up and ready to save the world! Back in action on the Iron Man 2 set, Robert Downey Jr. shoots a scene for the action film Wednesday in Los Angeles. 

This movie is going to be great, I’m looking forward to next year a little more than this year’s movies.
